Harry Potter Gobstone Alley box ⚡

One of the coolest gifts that I got for my birthday in May was a Harry Potter box of goodies. I recently received this from my friend and had to share it with you guys.

There are loads of Subscription boxes out there that are Harry Potter themed and they are also available as a one off box too, which is what I received.

So let’s take a look!

I love the detail that’s on each item, packaging and the box itself…

Inside the box…

You get a Umbridge proclamation with a list of all of the items in your box…

Part one: Our 27th Birthday celebrations 🎉

If your going to celebrate you might as well go all in.

I love a Birthday, a chance to have fun, eat lots of good food & spend time with your favourite people.

& being a twin I’ve always enjoyed having someone to share the special day with.

Even though I’m not quite sure how I am now a 27 year old person, (Like, I was at sixth form yesterday wasn’t I!?!) Where did that time go!?!

But, a lot of great things have been achieved since then so why not celebrate another year of living life ✌🏻

So how did we celebrate? Here’s how…

Friday 11th May

On Friday evening we met up with our friends for a meal together. It was great to see everyone as it’s much harder for us all to get together now a days.

Nandos was of course our choice of restaurant, you can’t beat a cheeky Nandos.

Me & my twin sister Sarah have the same group of friends from school, so that makes it alot easier too.

Saturday 12th May

We started off with our usual Saturday morning tradition, Parkrun.

32266810_10156454497045762_5297962951276232704_n

A 5k course around our local park. Crazy you might think but, it was a perfect way to start the birthday weekend of indulgence. I didn’t feel as guilty knowing I’d done my run for the day.

We went our separate ways to freshen up after the run and then ‘re grouped’ at mum & dad’s for a family birthday breakfast brunch.

32313612_10156454453035762_644462978090926080_n

I honestly don’t know why we have never done this before, because let’s be real, breakfast food is the best food.

It was good fun getting together, enjoying some yummy food and opening some pressies. We even had birthday cupcakes with candles.

We then spent the rest of the day chilling out and then me and Tim got ready for the evening.

Tim’s work friend had invited us along to her wedding reception so this is how we spent the evening.

32314054_10157398463256679_5578735941352161280_n

It was a BEAUTIFUL setting and the flowers & fairy lights were so pretty. Love a wedding.

Sunday 13th May

We had booked ourselves in for an Escape room experience for Sunday so me, Tim, Sarah and her husband Dan went off to the Escape Room in Colchester. We booked the ‘Witchcraft & Wizardry’ escape room for us to attempt as me and Sarah are big fans of Harry Potter (Don’t think Ive mentioned that before… haha)

One room, One hour…

It was really good fun and WE MADE IT OUT!! With 7 minutes to spare.

32530689_10156457082150762_6244817216420708352_n

In the evening we had our traditional family birthday meal.

We chose Byron Burger as the location (Second year running!) and it didn’t disappoint. We had a feast, it was sooooo good, especially their new Halloumi fries.

Here’s what I had…

●Clucky chicken burger

● French fries

● Me & Tim shared Halloumi fries & Chicken nuggets

● Banana milkshake

Once we had all finished we headed back to mine and Tim’s to have cake!

Tim chose the cake for us 😂 A Paw Patrol traybake.

It was a great birthday and lots of fun was had.

I’m going to do a part 2: ‘What I got for my birthday’ so keep your eyes peeled for that 👀

Until next year,

Roseanne 🙂

Bank holiday Byfords

As the Easter holidays draw to a close I thought I would share with you guys one of the cool places I visited during my time off.

It was my father in laws birthday on Good Friday and he had planned a day trip for us to do with him, and it was a really good day out.

We traveled to a place in Norfolk called Holt where a cafe (whose name was very apt for the tripees) resides…. ‘Byfords’. Byfords is (in it’s own words) a posh B’n’B, It has rooms to stay in, a restaurant, a shop/bakery that sells yummy locally produced goodies & a little bit of merch (no ‘Byfords’ travel mug though, gutted.)

Being Byford’s we thought this would be a really cool place to visit and it didn’t disappoint. The exterior and interior were really quaint and quirky and the food was delicious.

Me and Tim both had the breakfast pizza and, if like us, you are both a fan of breakfast food and pizzas then this is something you need to try!! SO GOOD.

After a small walk around Holt we made our way to the North Norfolk railway for a journey on a steam train. Now I’m not a train enthusiast but even I thought that this was really cool. The station was like something out of Heartbeat (throwback!) And the steam train itself had serious Hogwarts express vibes with its old fashioned wooden interior and compartments.

After a stroll on the beach and a slice of cake and a cuppa to refuel we got back on the train and headed to out final destination.

We ended our trip by taking a boat trip out to see the seals. They looked really chilled and are hilarious when they waddle around. Despite the wet weather this was a lovely end the day.

We had a lovely family day out & I was knackered by the end of it. Such fun!

I hope you all enjoyed the bank holiday weekend & Easter holidays 🐣🐰

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Easter baskets for the kids 🐣

Easter has got to be one of my favourite celebrations. Now I’m not a Christian so I don’t celebrate it in the traditional sense, however I do enjoy the way that we ‘celebrate’ this annual occasion.

I love the giving (& recieivng of, because your lieing if you don’t enjoy receiving chocolate!!) chocolatey treats! Picking ones out you’ll know that your nearest and dearest will enjoy (FYI my fam, it’s all about Terrys choc oranges, Cadbury Mini eggs & Maltester bunnies 🤣)

I thought that since my nephews are a bit older it would be nice to get a bit creative with their Easter Gifts this year. I’ve also done a smaller scale one for my niece as she’s only 9 months old but I didn’t want to leave her out!

So let’s take a look at the goodies…

I picked up these super cute buckets from Home bargains and some ‘straw’ to fill them with.

I picked up a yellow one each for the boys and a purple one for Evie.

Now to add the treats…

In each basket the boys have got:

● A large chocolate character, one is a pig, ones a lamb.

● Mini assorted Easter chocolates

● A wind up toy, bunny & chick

● A large bubble wand

● A decorate your own chocolate egg kit

● For Noah I’ve popped in a Easter arts & crafts pack

● For Casey (as he is a bit smaller) I popped in a soft cuddly lamb teddy, super cute.

For Evie’s little basket I just filled it with some of her favourite snack bits & sweet treats, baby-tastic. I had to include her favourite banana wafers!

Such a cute & simple idea for the little ones.

Have a great Easter guys.

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

A weekend away with family 🌸

This weekend me and Tim went to stay with my Auntie & Cousin in Norwich. We had planned this trip for a little while but the snow had scuppered our plans earlier on in March!

With the weather clear and our bags packed we headed off on Friday after work. We made it in good time (although a slow moving tractor on the way almost trapped us for a bit, good old East Anglia)

We were greeted with a delicious tea of pizzas which we all enjoyed, whilst catching up.

We also got cuddles with my Aunties new baby guinea pigs Digby and Tufty. They are brothers and are super cute! (Below is Digby!)

IMG_20180325_211013_395

On Saturday Morning (being the keen parkrunners that we are) me and Tim got up and went in search of Brundalls Parkrun, our first outing as Parkrun tourists. We actually found it quite easily and it was really cool doing a different course. Plus being good and still going out for a run whilst away meant we could be more indulgent when necessary over the weekend haha.

We really enjoyed the run and although it was a bit worrying not knowing the course it turned out to be pretty straight forward, A 4 lap course, we just had to remember which lap we were on!

We headed back to freshen up and have some brekky.

We spent the rest of the day watching films and playing board games. perfect weekend entertainment, especially the board games as they were vintage ones from my aunties loft (They don’t make board games like they used to these days) We found some real gems.

We went out for a meal in the evening to a local Indian restaurant that we frequent on our trips to see my Auntie, it’s lovely there and the food is really tasty.

We enjoyed poppodoms & sauces to start and for the main I chose the tandoori chicken with boiled rice, yummy.

On Sunday we all indulged in a much deserved lie in followed by a chilled out day of watching tv, chatting, having copious amounts of tea, an amazing roast dinner cooked by my cousin and playing a fun word based card game called Wordsmithery.

It’s always such a shame when a lovely long weekend ends! Back to the reality of a working week. Thank goodness it’s a short one, roll on the Easter Hols I say, I’m defiantly feeling it now ZZZzzzzz.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Pre Christmas Family meal meet up: Blogmas 24

Hi guys!

& HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE!!

Last weekend we met up with my auntie & cousins to have a family Christmas meal together. We aren’t seeing each other around Christmas day so we all met up at a pub to see each other, have some yummy food and exchange pressies.

The pub was called ‘The waterfront Inn’ and is a Greene King pub so it had lots of tasty pub classics and lunch time bites on the menu.

20171217_145656_resized.jpg

I went for a jacket potato with beans and cheese. I had coleslaw and salad on the side.

The pub had some awesome decorations, my favourite ones that I have seen so far!

Here are some of them…

My favourite’s are the Brussels sprouts in party hats!! Love those.

IMG_20171217_203236_439

They had some games so we sat and played a few of those too.
Noah loved Jenga!

I especially enjoyed the fire, so cosy & super toastie.

It was super lovely to get together as we won’t be together around the main festive days this year, family is what Christmas is all about at the end of the day! 💓

1 more sleep to go!

Until next time,
Roseanne 🙂

Cosy Christmas film night! 📺:Blogmas day 21

Hi guys!

What’s better on a Saturday night than a cosy movie night!?! especially at Christmas!!
Me & the hubby put on our comfys, got a blanket and I made us some hot choccies whilst Tim scrolled through Netflix.

He settled on ‘Deck the hall’s’ starring Danny Devito.

With hot choccies in hand and sweet & salty Popcorn packets we snuggled down to watch the film.

I actually really enjoyed the film, it was one I had heard of many a time but had never watched. It’s super festive and I love all the Christmas, lights and snowy scenes, perfect for making you feel christmassy.

A great Christmas evening in.

Until next time,
Roseanne 🙂

Late night shopping!🛍️: Blogmas day 19

Hi guys!

Last Thursday me and my sister Sarah decided to brave the streets of our home town for some late night shopping. With only 11 days until Christmas (on the Thursday) we needed to get the rest of the presents that were left on our lists.

Armed with our lists and shopper bags we headed to Primark first. I’m pretty sure time speeds up in there and by the time we got out we were in much need of a break!

We stopped off at Costa to have our favourite festive drink (& our first one of the festive season!!) their Mint hot chocolate. IT IS AMAZING!!

We always have these at this time of the year and they always make us feel super festive.

Re-fueled and ready we were off to grab the last few bits that we could before the shops closed.

20171214_204710

I managed to get over half of the items on my list which I though was pretty good going, We went in for round two on Saturday and I am glad to say that all my Christmas shopping is now FINISHED! Hurrah!

Have you finished your shopping or are you a last minute buyer?

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Christmas fayre fun: Blogmas day 17

Hi guys!

My oldest nephew Noah now goes to pre school (😢 He’d just turned 1 when I started this blog!!) And they had a little Christmas fayre, to raise money for the pre school, at the weekend. I popped along with my sister, bro in law and nephews to take a look.

It was only a small fayre but they had some super cute and really lovely little activities for the children (& adults!!) to enjoy.

Of course they had the standard raffle, tombola and cake stall, because is it even a fayre without those!!

They also had a ‘Snowman soup station ☃

I love this idea! You have a little cellophane cone and put two scoops of hot chocoate in your cone and top it with a scoop of mini marshmallows, tie it up and you’ve got your own cute hot choclate cone, or snowman soup should I say!

Noah loved scooping in the ingredients.

Noah, Me and Sarah made one each (& I made one for my hubby Tim) to go into our Christmas eve boxes.

These would make a lovely Christmas gift idea for friends or from the kiddies as it’s a bit of fun but super easy.

Me & Noah had some turns on the tombola and won some hand cream haha.

Noahy also made himself some reindeer food ready for the reindeers on Christmas eve.

Casey has a little snowman painted onto his arm to get into the festive spirit. ☃

When we got home Noah and Casey’s letters from Santa, that I’d arranged with the big guy myself (it’s not what you know, it’s who you know) had arrived.

Noah was really pleased with his letter, stickers and official nice list certificate.

‘Thats exciting isn’t it!!’

It seems only yesterday he was having his ‘first’ steps etc and now it’s pre school ‘firsts’ and such. Time really flies, but I am loving how excited and how much Noah understands Christmas this year! It’s going to be so much fun 😀

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

The Rock n Roll Panto: Blogmas day 15

Hey guys!

One of our yearly traditions is to go to the panto at our local theatre, The Wolsey.

It’s an annual Christmas panto and is rock n roll themed. It is always full to the brim will brilliant songs.

This year the panto is Red Riding Hood. Their take on the classic tale was really good.

I went to the panto with my husband Tim and sister Sarah. This is mine and Tim’s 5th year going to the panto and Sarah’s 2nd. We all LOVED IT.

The stage was really cool too, I think it is my favourite one so far…

I love the atmosphere and the warm, cosy feel of the place. Its a great festive outing and it really puts you in a happy mood.

The acting was great, and it was absolutely HILARIOUS.

I would even go as far as to say it was the best one we have seen so far!! Tim and Sarah agreed too.

I know a lot of people think that pantos are cheesy but, they are so much fun, a laugh and really feel good.

If you’ve never been go! You wont regret it.

& on that note…

IT IS 10 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS PEOPLE!! 10 DAYS!!

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂
