Make up!

I don’t wear very much make up but there are a few bits that I really like to use so I thought I’d blog about them.

Now anyone that knows me, knows that I am a nail varnish addict, I have so many colours.

image

I usually go for Barry M ones as they do a great range of colours and I got this limited edition one free yesterday because I spent over ยฃ6.

image

image

It’s called Sparkling ruby, it’s a lovely red with a sparkle in it. It’s great for this time of year, very Christmassy!

The clear nail varnish you see in the picture next to the red nail varnish is Maybellines Forever strong Super Stay top coat.ย  It keeps the nail varnish on well and adds a nice shine.

I brought myself an eye shadow pallet yesterday as I don’t actually own one. Again, this is Barry M and it’s their Naural Glow 2 eyeshadow & primer palette.

image

The colours are lovely, light and neutral sowork well for lots of looks. The dark colours are great for the corners of your eyes.

image

This is my new Barry M ‘Cor Balmy’ lip balm.ย  I already have the Rosie lea colour which is a lovely pink. Yesterday I brought this colour which is called Current bun, its got a nice purple tonge to itm They are really nice as they are a lip balm but give a subtle colour to your lips and go on really nicely.

Two of my make up staples are Body Shops bb cream as this isn’t heavy like a foundation but gives a nice even coverage and it changes to match your skin tone. I also like to use a rosy blusher on the apple of my cheeks.

This is a picture of me and my twin sister Sarah at my friends wedding, I really like my make up in this picture. I used my favourites that I mentioned above and some of my sisters eye shadow to create this look.

image

Sarah knows alot more about make up than me so she’s my go to if I need any tips or advice.

Check out her blog all about her make up choices at:

Thanks guys, let me know what your make up must haves are!

Until next time,

Samuel & Olivia’s wedding 21.11.15

On Saturday we celebrated the wedding of Sam & Livy.

I’ve known Sam since I was 15/16 years old. We went to the same high school and when we went to Sixth form we, with my twin Sarah and bestie Roxy formed a strong friendship group, with a few others that we already knew and some we met along the way!

We’ve had so many fun times throughout the years and he is one of my closest friend so it was a privaledge to be able to share this special day with him and the lovely Livy.

Their wedding was at the beautiful Smeetham Hall Barn in Sudbury.

image

They had a marquee which was attached to the barn, it was lovely. We were in
the marquee to begin with and then took our seats ready for the ceremony to begin at 12.30.

image

Me and my twin sister Sarah waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Livy looked absolutely beautiful in her dress and the smile on Sams face when he saw her was lovely to witness. It was very emotional and with some musical performances from family members it was really special. I’m not ashamed to admit I cried, especially when Livy made her grand entrance.

We had drinks, after the ceremony, in the marquee and congratulated the bride and groom (and yes I cried… again) before they had photos done.

My gorgeous nephew having a run around.

The speeches were lovely to listen too and I think the grooms speech made everyone a bit tearful! After that it was time for the wedding breakfast, the tables looked lovely and my goodness was the food yummy.

image

image

Here’s what we had to eat:

image

Chicken and bacon salad with a yummy dressing and croutons!

image

Roast Pork with all the trimmings.

image

A trio of desserts, fruit jelly, cheesecake and a chocolate mousse in a dark chocolate cup.

So delicious!!

Then we had the lovely first dance…

image

image

…and the cutting of the cake!

image

image

image

And of course, after that all that was left to do was party!!

image

image

Having fun doing the barn dance!

image

The bride doing a twirl.

image

And of course another selfie!

We had such a lovely day and I loved seeing two of my friends so happy. They are so right for each other and I wish the new Mr and Mrs Brooke a lifetime of fun, laughter, love and happiness because they truly deserve it โ™ก

Italy! Take two.

Our second trip to Italy took us to Bologna, Florence, Pisa and Venice (again, yay!)

First stop Bologna!

image

Bologna was way better than I gave it credit for. We had such an amazing, and interesting time there. There was so much to do and it felt like we were there for more than 2 days because we crammed so much in. It’s definatly a place in Italy I would recommend.

We went to a museum all about Bologna and Italian medieval history, climbed the tallest tower in Bologna, went for a walk round the park, had a walking tour which was awesome, looked round the shops AND looked round the food markets, the food was phenomenal!

image

The towers in Bologna. We climbed the tallest one. Over 400 steps!! We were knackered.

image

The Bologna food markets, the food was out of this world. Me and Tim got our lunch from there on our last day in Bologna, we got fresh rolls, mozzarella and parma ham (See below)

image

Whilst in Bologna we had ‘au ragu’ which is their tomato sauce for pasta! Bologna is the home of Bolognese and it’s so authentic and super delicious. Its a must have if you are in Bologna, teamed with some tortellini your on to a winner.

image

Next stop, Florence! We spent 3 days here and one of them was the best day of my life so far…

We had a walking tour in Florence too which took up one of our afternoon/evenings and we went to the Natural History Museum of Florence as well as relaxing, eating ice cream (note: always check the price) and looking round the shops.

image

image

The hotel weย stayed in had the coolest pancake machine, so you can guess what I had for breakfast whilst we were there!

image

On the Saturday we spent in Florence we went to Pisa for half a day!
It was really cool to see the famous leaning tower of Pisa. We went up it and of course did the obligitory touristy pictures with it.

image

image

I have to say it’s a lot smaller than you think it’s going to be but they really aren’t exaggerated when they say leaning, walking up the stairs to get to the top is very disorientating.

On the morning of Sunday 19th August, our last day in florence before we headed off to Venice,ย  me and Tim decided to go back to the Ponte Vecchio bridge, the gold bridge, named so because it is lined with little jewellry shops.

image

image

On the corner of the street, after we’d looked around, Tim turned to me and said ‘Do you want to go back to the shop and get the ring you liked?’
‘Why?’ I responded, ‘because I might need it’ again I responded ‘why?’ And Tim said…

Will you marry me?

After a little bit of shock I of course said

YES!

We went back into the shop to get the ring I liked and the one in the window fitted perfectly!
So you can see why this was the best day of my life so far โ™ก

image

In the afternoon we got the train to Venice, our last stop! I was desperate to come here again after loving it last time.

Here are some pictures of the amazing Venice!

image

The Rialto Bridge.

Our view from breakfast.

image

Venice by night.

image

St Marks Square.

Whilst we were there we did a tour of Venice that started at St Marks Square and walked you around the back canals of Venice, telling you the history. This was really interesting as we hadn’t done this before.

We spent of lot of time enjoying the view of the Grand Canal from our hotels balcony. As you’ll know from my previous Italy blog, we like to stay at Canal Grande hotel in Venice and we did this time too.

I found a gorgeous hand decorated notebook that had a sketch of Venice on it, in a shop next to the Rialto Bridge. I did a lot of my own sketches of Venice and places we had been during the earlier stages of the holiday.
I really enjoyed being creative and capturing the beautiful city in my own way.

I hope you enjoyed my blog about our second jaunt to Italy. Feel free to leave your comments below!

Where’s your favourite place to visit?

Until next time,

Roseanne ๐Ÿ™‚

Italy!

Italy is mine and Tims most favourite place in the world. It’s amazing, the food is phenomenal, the sights are beautiful and it’s such an interesting and lovely place to be.

Also, I thought it would be nice to blog about Italy as it has had quite an influence over some decisions we have made for the wedding.

Me and Tim started to plan our first holiday together for August 2012 and we decided on Italy as neither of us had been there before! We decided to go to a few places instead of just going to one, in order to see more! We went to Naples,ย  Pompeii, Rome & Venice.

Here are some pictures:

image

This is us on our hotel balcony in Naples. We originally went to Naples as you can easily get an trip to Pompeii but, we soon realised that it was a lovely place to go of its own merit and as we were only there for 2 days we’d love to go back.

image

Our first meal in Italy was pizza and you can tell Naples is the home of pizza in Italy,ย  it was incredible and still the best pizza I’ve had to date.

image

image

I’ve always found Pompeii really interesting since I learnt about it at school so it was great to go. It was SO fascinating and also tragic too. Our tour guide was brilliant.

image

It was really surreal seeing Mount Vesuvius, you’ve heard about this volcano that caused such destructionย  and took so many lives but it’s strange to be standing in its shadow,ย  and you realise just how close to Pompeii it really is.

Our next stop was Rome, the great city!
We chose this as it’s the capital city and has so many monuments to see, also Tim loves Roman history, we both find it really interesting.

image

We were in Rome for 3 days (but you could easily spend a week there) and for 2 of the days we had a sightseeing tour bus to get us to each historic location, with lots of information on the way.

image

image

Palatine Hill ‘The first hill of Rome’

image

image

The Colosseum is Incredible! You just walk around in awe of it and it’s so interesting and beautiful to look at, we had an audio tour round it so at different points we listened to information about the parts of theย  Colosseum, it was great.

image

Food, food, food! It doesn’t get better than Italian food and apart from the pizza in Naples, the best food of the whole trip was in Rome. Above is a picture of one of the starters we had, so yummy ๐Ÿ™‚

image

image

image

image

We found a beach! I love sitting in the sun, for a little bit, and going in the sea on holiday and we found a beach you could get the train to from Rome, a place called Nettuno. We had a lovely day, chilling out, playing football, swimming in the sea and eating pizza ๐Ÿ™‚

Our last stop was Venice. Everyone always says they have a favourite place and I never had one…Until I went to Venice. It’s just so unique and beautiful, and words don’t really do it justice! I LOVE it, it’s like nowhere else you will ever go.

image

When booking our hotel me and Tim thought we’d treat ourselves. Venice was our 5 day relaxation part of the holiday so we thought it would be great. We stayed at the hotel Canal Grande, it was AMAZING, luxurious and money well spent.ย  We both agreed we would have to stay there again when we come back to Venice.

image

โ˜†โ˜†โ˜†โ˜† and so worth it.

During our time in Venice we walked around exploring, played chess in the hotel lobby, went on a tour of the islands and relaxed in the sun and read books, it was great!

image

The view from the Rialto bridge
image

These are the colourful houses of Burano. Burano is one of the Islands oft Venice. The other two are Murano, where we saw the glass blowing, and Torcello, with lots of lovely old architecture.

image

Some more yummy food I had one lunchtime.

image

In our Venetian masks.

We also had a Gondola ride in Venice. I would recommend it 100% it is well worth doing it once, it’s such a great experience and you see Venice how it’s truly meant to be seen, from the canal.

image

image

image

image

So that was our first trip to the beautiful country of Italy… check out my next blog for our most recent trip!

I hope you enjoyed reading about our adventure in a country that we love, if you did leave a comment ๐Ÿ™‚

Until next time

Wedding update no 3!

We have a few more things sorted out for the wedding! Yay ๐Ÿ™‚

DJ/music for reception

image

Tim found a DJ for our reception that was free on the 11th and is reasonably priced which is great news as that’s something else to tick of the immediate checklist!
I love that you get to have the romantic, intimate bit of a wedding as well as a party! It’s going to be such an awesome day.

Servers

image

We have sorted out the servers for the wedding breakfast and they include the hire of plates etc as this wasn’t included in our venue. We are going to have lots to do the day before the wedding as we will have to set up tables and do all the decorations! I’m looking forward to putting it all together for the day and I’m hoping I won’t get too stressed out!

THE DRESS!!!

image

I cant believe i havnt blogged about this yet but… I’ve found ‘the dress’. I โ™ก it.
Me, my mum and bridesmaids went around town and I had an appointment at one shop, this was my first experience of trying on wedding dresses and I have to say it was very weird.ย

It was a bit strange getting undressed in front of a random stranger but there’s not much else you can do so you just get on with it.
It was surreal trying on the different dresses and it makes your realise your not 100% sure on what you want or what would suit you. It is quite a fun experience and it was good to have people with me for different options and advice.

I found one dress that I liked in the shop and I thought about it for a while but I didn’t love everything about it so I knew it wasn’t the one. I went home more informed but hungry to try on more dresses.

I wasn’t going to go to the wedding fayre at the holiday inn the next day as I was accompanying Tim to his Spartan run, however he persuaded me to go as I’d got really excited about the dresses I’d seen the day before… It was obviously meant to be as this is where I found ‘THE DRESS!!!’

It’s beautiful and as soon as I put it on and looked in the mirror I knew it was right โ™ก
I even liked myself in it. I can’t believe the first one I tried on there was just right. AND, I got ยฃ50 off as my twin sister got her dress from them as well as a free veil and tiara (yay!)

It was good fun looking round the other stalls to get some quirky ideas and to make me start thinking about other things that I need to organise, all in all we had a fun time ๐Ÿ™‚

Cake

We aren’t 100% set on any particular ideas for a cake yet except that it will be two tiers and in keeping with the colour scheme.

Here are some I like the look of from Pinterest.

image

image

image

image

image

My mum’s friend has kindly said she will make the cake for us which is fab!

It’s so exciting!!

I hope you enjoyed this little update, more to come soon.

Until next time,

Pretty pictures (from an amateur!)

I love taking photos so I thought I’d share some of the ones I’ve taken. Ive split them up into categories so here goes, hope you like them ๐Ÿ™‚
1. Pretty things
2. Flowers
3. Scenery
4. People

Some of the photos are natural and some have filters on from instagram to sharpen the image and bring them to life!

Let’s start with some pictures of pretty things.

image

This is a photo of us celebrating bonfire night by having some fireworks & sparklers.

image

This is a photo from a hotel me and Tim stayed at, those who have read my blog about our weekend away will recognise this!
The hotel had some lovely old features and this is one of them. I love the way this one is framed with the old fireplace still visable in the background.

image

I love candles, they are so relaxing and smell great! I love the way the light of the flame catches the glass in this photo, so pretty.

Flowers

image

My bouquet from my sister wedding.

image

An arrangement of flowers & candles from my sisters wedding.

image

Some beautiful flowers my lovely fiance bought for me.

Flowers, flowers, flowers! I love them and they are great to photograph. I love all the colours and the detail you can see when you take a photo close up.

Scenery

Scenery shots are great, especially when you can look at them and they remind you of a place you love.

I take loads of photos of the waterfront near where I live in my hometown. I walk through the waterfront everyday on my way to work and often can’t help myself stopping to take a quick snap, it’s so lovely down there! (In all weathers)

So here are some of my snaps.

image

image

image

image

image

…here are some photos from a recent trip to London, they are of the Thamesย  and Southbank area.

image

image

image

Not all of these photos have filters but I do like to use them on some as they really define some of the features and emphasise the colours, shadows and reflections in the pictures ๐Ÿ™‚

People

Here are a few photos ofย  people ๐Ÿ™‚

image

I love the way the sun is shining on this picture! It was summer and the lighting really gives it a summery feel.

image

image

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at my photos.

A photo can transport you right back to a special time, a moment in your life and make you smile, there’s something really magical about that.

The next blog will be another wedding update!!

Until next time,

Roseanne ๐Ÿ™‚

Staying on plan but still having fun!

I thought I’d do a blog post about… My breakfast! Sounds random but this morning me and Tim went out to breakfast and I stayed on my slimming world plan. When you go out for a meal this is often tricky to do but when you can it’s so good!!

image

The Harvester do a yummy breakfast and you can have as much as you want!! Their ยฃ8.49 option includes unlimited cooked and continental breakfast and any hot or cold drinks. This is the option me and Tim went for ๐Ÿ™‚

image

The cooked breakfast is great as you can get poached eggs, baked beans and the bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms are all grilled so you can have your bacon fix and speed foods without feeling guilty. (Just make sure you take the fat off your bacon!)

I had one hash brown which I counted as 4 syns to be safe. I also got two slices of wholemeal toast and had these as my healthy b!

image

image

I syned the jam and milk in my tea which comes to 3 syns. I’m saving my healthy A for cheesy pasta at dinner!

It was so nice to go out together, no cooking needed, and we had a lovely walk along the Waterfront! What a great way to start the weekend and it was guilt free.

Slimming world has been so easy to slot into my life, yeah I still have days when I wish I could eat all the cake and chocolate I want, run down to the takeaway instead of cooking but it’s about getting the balance right and believe me, you really appreciate the treats when you have them!

Please share your comments and let me know what you think,ย  I’d love to hear from you.

Until next time,
Roseanne ๐Ÿ™‚

Wedding update no 2! โ™ก

So, on Sunday my bridesmaids (my twin sister, older sister & bestfriend) came round to help me with some crafty wedding bits.

image

The bridesmaids
(Charlotte, Roxy & Sarah)
I got it all ready into different boxes for each of us to tackle.

Box 1: Decopage

image

Sarah (my twin) was on decopage duty. I had found some little letters to spell out Mr & Mrs and some cute, and colour scheme appropriate, paper in the Norwich hobbycraft.

image

Box 2: Labels

Pinterest has been AMAZING for wedding ideas, be it decorations, invites, flowers or even dresses. I found some really cute labels to personalise for each guest, this was Roxy (my bestfriends) job.

Box 3: Centrepieces

image

As I brought some of the bits for these on Saturday when I was in town I tackled these. These were another pinterest idea and as I love making things these were perfect, they’re a bit different and really pretty… 2 down, 11 to go!

Here’s a link to the tutorial of how to make these:
http://pizzazzerie.com/parties/tutorial-how-to-make-a-pomander-flower-ball/

Last, but not least…

Box 4: invites

My older sister Charlotteย  was on invites on Sunday and we managed to make loads! I changed my mind slightlyย  from the original idea that I had as I wanted something a bit simpler, more classic and neat.
So we’ve taken some bits away, added a bit of lace and I’m really excited to get these ready to send out in February ๐Ÿ™‚

As me and Charlotte work at the same school we have been making invites at lunch time, we’ll have them done in no time!

Thanks for reading,ย  it would be great if you could comment below and let me know what you think.

Until next time,ย

Shopping spree!

Just thought I’d do a quick blog post about my shopping spree on saturday and what I brought.
I LOVE clothes shopping, not sure it counts as a hobby but, I enjoy it none the less.

So first stop, good old Primark!ย
Apart from some new work trousers and shoes (my only necessary purchases of the day) I got…

image

A lovely jumper in burgundy, it’s a nice length as it’s a bit longer than waist length and looks really nice with skinny jeans or trousers.

image

A red checkered shirt. I love the colour red and this looks great as a casual top with skinnies and brown boots or brouges!

Next stop was New look! I didn’t realise our New look was still open as the shopping centre its in is currently being refurbished but it hasn’t relocated to its new place yet and they had a sale!!

image

I’ve been looking for a pair of brown ankle boots with brouge detailing for ages and was so pleased when I finally found these in New look, love them.

image

This lovely coral blouse was a bargin at ยฃ5 in the New look sale! Super.

I also got a few wedding bits for the next day as we were getting crafty and making invites, decorations and centrepieces. More details in my next blog ๐Ÿ™‚

Until next time,
Roseanne ๐Ÿ™‚

A weekend with Noah!

This weekend Tim is on a stag do so I have the lovely Noah to keep me company.

On Friday night I took Noah to see the fireworks at Sproughton with some friends.
Noahs never seen fireworks before but he seemed to like them and was fine with the noise which was great. He really liked looking at the bonfire too.

Here are some pictures of us all at the fireworks.

Today (Saturday) after a lovely 9 hours sleep (fireworks definatly tired someone out!!) we headed to the cinema to meet my sisters. Cineworld do ‘movies for juniors’ film showings so we went to watch The Minions movie.

image

image

Noah had a lovely time with his mummy & aunties and lots of yummy snacks!

Once the film had finished we said goodbye to the others and headed off to town. Noah fell asleep for the majority of the shopping trip but auntie Roseanne managed to shop till she dropped!

Back at mine we played with his toys, did some colouring, sung and danced to some songs and played some musical instruments.
We had a lovely afternoon.

He’s sleeping now while I watch a bit of TV, it’s been a busy but fun day ๐Ÿ™‚

Tommorrow morning the bridesmaids are coming round for some wedding craft! I’ll do a blog about this wedding update soon.

Until next time,ย
