Holiblog 1: The hotel

These are just a series of mini blogs capturing our honeymoon in Sardinia, Italy. We are having an amazing time so far 👍

Here’s a look at our hotel 🏨

Hotel Le Palme 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Our room! We got an upgrade from a standard to a classic for our honeymoon 🙂

Our balcony…

… and the view from it.

The hotel is huge and a bit like a maze until you get used to it.

These cute canals give a lovely Venetian feel to the hotel.

These bridges/wooden walkways that go over the water and canals are lovely for a stroll after dinner, they are super romantic when its all lit up at night

It has its own private beach 🌊🐚

The pool is amazing, it’s great having it there to cool down in when it gets really hot or to just sit by and chill 😎✌🌞

I hope you enjoyed this little insight into our accommodation 👍

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

What’s in my travel bag?

So, We are off to Sardinia tommorrow for our honeymoon and I thought it would be cool to do a blog all about the bits I’m taking in my bag 🎒 Holiday essentials, clothes and travel pieces, here goes.

First up…

Holiday essentials 🌞

Skincare & summer make up! Suncream is of course a must (as well as after sun as it will be 30’c) I havn’t really got any top tips on suncream but I always go for a factor 20 & 50. Tim has fair skin and catches the sun really easily so 50 is a must!

I’ve also picked out a few summery make up bits to go with my usual pieces. 💄

I’ve chosen orangey/coral/brown tones as these go really great with a tan. I chose Revlons liquid lipstick in the shade ‘flirt’, Bourjois’s liquid lipstick in the shade ‘Happy nude year’ & Barry Ms Cor Balmy lip balm in the shade ‘trouble & strife’

I also picked up a bronzer as I didnt actually have one!! I chose Collections Bronze Glow Mosaic bronzer, it’s so pretty and has a nice mixture of tones & shimmers. This also contains Vitamin C which is good for your skin 👍

Sunglasses are of course a must! I’ve got my prescription sunglasses ready in their case. I got these last year for our holiday to Italy and I havn’t looked back since, I hated not being able to wear sunglasses so it was awesome finally getting these.

Mini toiletries, a must just because! So cute and mini 🙂 Wilko do a great selection of nice brands in mini toiletrie form which is great AND they were on offer 3 for 2, even better!

Next up…
Clothes 👕😎

These are just a few of my favourite bits that I have bought to take on holiday.

First up, this is a lovely cover up from H&M for £14.99, it’s a really lovely floaty, thin material and I love the blue and white colours with the shimmer of silver/gold running through it…

Now there’s a bit of a tassel theme going on here…

I picked up both of these pairs of shorts from Primark for £4 each! (Tassels!!) They must be the in thing this year.

This super cute vintagey looking swimsuit was from Matalan for £14.
I love the shape of it and the navy and white combo with gold detailing on the straps. I was happy with this find as I’m a bit fussy with swimsuits and I find them a tricky thing to buy when you’re not a fan of wearing them in the first place.

This is one of my favourite items that I found in  Primark (again £4) it’s so cute and will look great with any of the shorts that I’ve got, especially the ones I mentioned above ☝ #summergoals 🍦

Moving onto shoes…

Harry a potter flipflops! Need I say anymore?!? Super cool and only around£1.50 in Primark.

Sandals, sandals, sandals! Defiantly an essential item and these lovely ones are also from Primark (I sense another theme here!)

I thought that these were lovely so I picked them up in brown and black, two staple colours when coordinating any outfit 👍

I love the gold detail on the buckle and again TASSELS!! These were £5 each.

And finally…

Travel essentials ✈

A travel bag! I always go for a big one as my hand luggage bag so that I can fit plenty of bits of bobs to travel with and occupy myself on the plane with, such as…

I picked this adult colouring book up in Bologna, Italy last year so I’m going to take this for the plane along with some books too!

My friend Rachel got me this cute checklist & pen for my birthday! I love a bit of stationary and this will be great for making sure that we pack everything we need.

These awesome luggage tags were part of our wedding present from my auntie! She got them for us at my Hen do, at the studio tour. They are super cool ⚡

I picked up this cute and super soft travel pillow in Primark for £4! I know it isn’t a long flight to Sardinia but I might as well be comfortable none the less 👍

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little insight into my travel items, see you in a week!

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Sunday by the sea 🌞🌊

Today me, Tim, Sarah & Noah joined our friends at Felixstowe for an afternoon in the sun.

We havnt had a very good summer so far but this weekend has been hot, hot, hot!🌝
We started off by heading to the seafront and a chip shop for some lunch (I had already grabbed some healthy alternatives from M&S to keep me on plan!)

After that  me and Sarah took Noah inside to cool down! ice creams were purchased 🍦

We had lots of fun at the beach 🐚

I love the seaside and we British do them so well! Its always nice and feels familiar when we re-visit Felixstowe as I spent a lot of my childhood there with my Nana.

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

A Slimming World update 🍳

I thought I’d do a quick update on Slimming World since the wedding (Is she going to shut up about this wedding anytime soon? Probably not )

I was maintaining for quite a while Pre wedding in order to fit into my dress and am chipping away at the weight I put on from the wedding/ the week after when I wasn’t very strict 😜

This week I lost 1/2 a lb which you probably think was barely worth it but I had a bad  weekend (bad in terms of SW, great for my stomach) with Tim’s birthday celebrations so I was doing damage control this week, and as they say a loss is a loss after all!!

My current countdown is to this…

Our honeymoon 😍😍🇮🇹 Sardinia, Italy

Two weeks to go!!!

Two weeks to go means two more ‘weigh ins’. I’m hoping for two good loses in these weeks and there shouldn’t be anything in my way, fingers crossed.

My aim this week: 2lbs.
Next week is the last few days of term then it’s the summer holidays, so planning is going to be the key to success as well as…

– Lots of healthy yummy snacks

– Meals ready prepared

– A list of foods that I can use my syns on

– Lots of speed foods
Here’s hoping the week goes well, wish me luck!

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Superdrug Haul.

A great look at some drug store make up buys! 👄

sprinklesandsparklesx's avatarsprinklesandsparklesx

In my London post, I mentioned nipping into Superdrug to get a few bits and bobs. And well, those ‘bits and bobs’ turned into a £40 shopping spree so I thought hey ho, might as well do a drugstore haul!

For those of you who haven’t been blessed with UK drugstores, we have two main ones – Boots and Superdrug. Up until this year, I’ve always preferred Boots due to their selection of products, range of brands and their loyalty points scheme works out to be more generous than Superdrug. However, only recently have I discovered Makeup Revolution which is only for sale in Superdrug and since falling in love with their products, I’ve found myself to be a Superdrug convert.

So without any further ado, let’s begin my haul!

My recent make up purchases 💄

I’ve defiantly got more into make up since the wedding prep and make up trials. So many times I would think about buying make up then change my mind because I probably wouldn’t use it or even know how! I now go into shops to seek out new pieces for my ever growing collection and I find it quite exciting to experiment with different brands to see which ones work the best for me!

Here are my purchases from yesterday…

First up is is cute little eyebrow focus & fix shaping kit by Revoution.

I got it in light-medium as i have fair hair so like to keep my eyebrows toned down a bit. I like that you get the wax to shape and three different tones to use.

This is a great size to pop in your handbag and is only £2.50! Very affordable.
Next up…

Highlighter, highlighter, highlighter 🌫

I have really got into highlighters recently, they are a relatively new addition to my make up bag as I was a bit wary of how to use it to be honest. This is by Revolution and it’s their highlighting powder palette.

This one is so pretty and has three different shades to choose from.

I’ve only used the pinkie tone so far but I can’t wait to try out the others too. I’ve been watching YouTube videos to give me some tips.

Here’s a photo of the highlighter in use. You’ll have to excuse the quality of the photo as I only have my phone to use 🙈

This retails at £8.00.

Next up… All about the lips 💋

If I had to pick one item to carry around as a make up essential it would always be something for the lips. Yesterday I grabbed a couple of lip products.

This is a lip liner by BarryM. I actually picked this up after watching one of Zoellas blogs on her June favourites. Here’s a link to that: June favourites 2016

I brought no 15 which is shade ‘Rose’. This retails at £2.99.

I’ve left my favourite until last!

This is a Matte liquid lipstick by Bourjois, from their Rouge velvet edition range.

This is the second color I have brought from this range and I 💖 it. The shade is no 09 ‘Happy nude year’.

These are so great, they look lovely on and are really pigmented. It applies really smoothly and stays really well even when eating and drinking . One of the things I like the most about this Matte liquid lipstick is that it is much less drying than other ones I have tried, it feels really moisturising. I really like Sleek make up liquid lipsticks but they leave your lips feeling really dry as if they will crack,  this make doesn’t have that effect but still has the great look of a matte.

This shade is a nudey orange tone and I really like this, especially as it’s now summer🌞 this will look great on holiday with a tan 👌🏼

These are also in cute little bottles perfect for popping into your handbag. They retail at £8.99. I would highly recommend giving these a try!! 👄

It was a great time to go into Superdrug as they were offering 3 for 2 across their make up brands, I also managed to pick up a couple of nail varnishes 💅🏻 for a friend in the offer too, saving myself £6 in total ✌🏻

I hope you enjoyed taking a look at my purchases, let me know how you’ve got on with these products or any you think I should try 💁🏼

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Primark haul

I can’t believe I haven’t done one of these yet, anyone who knows me knows that I ❤️ a bit of Primark, so I thought I’d do a post on my recent purchase.

Here goes, first up Shoes! 👟

These are so cool! Harry Potter and Converse, two of my favourite things ⚡️⚡️

I live in Converse and the burgundy colour is great too. Super comfy.

These were £8.

These slip on pumps are great as they work for casual use and are also super comfy for work too. They come in lots of different colours, I grabbed them in the light grey, dark grey & greymarl, which is grey with darks specks in it.

These are £4.

Next up, pyjamas! 👚

I love Primarks range of Harry Potter pyjamas. They are sold separately but some of the tops and bottoms match. These two match and the bottoms are super comfy and cuffed F the bottom. The top is cool and in the style of an American style baseball top with the slogan ‘Don’t let the muggles get you down.’

The bottoms were £8 and the top was £7.

I also got the vest top with the Marauders map design on it. This one is £4.50.

Tops…

This top is so cute and awesome. I of course 💖 pizza and this top is really cool and comfy. It was only £3 reduced from £6, bargain.

I also got a few other random bits…

I love this super cute material shopping bag ‘Happiccino-A happy cappuccino.’ 🙂

So cute☕️ £1.50

And finally,

Since I wear lots of slip on trainers & low top Converse these are great as they stop the slipping. They are really comfy too.

These are £2.50 for a pack of two.

So those are my purchases! I hope you enjoyed viewing my bargains  👛
Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Post wedding!

I thought I would do a little update post wedding as it’s been a couple of weeks since the big day.

image

Lots of people have asked me,‘So how’s married life?’‘No different’ is my usual response but there are a few changes…

○ Being called Mrs Byford. To begin with this made me feel a bit sad, I’d lost my identity as Roseanne Green but now I’ve got used to it I’m quite proud to share Tims name and be the Mrs Byford to his Mr Byford.

○ I feel a bit more adult now that I have a husband!! (Not much) but a little bit. It’s very odd being a MRS!!

○ We made a cleaning/chores rota! (Finally) The only thing me and Tim have ever bickered about since sharing a home is chores and now that we are married we thought why spoil the married bliss?! so, instead we solved the problem and it actually works really well. We share them out much more evenly between us.

Having been together 5 years our relationship as it is hasn’t really changed massivly since becoming Mr & Mrs but I think it does make you think about the vows and promises you make and I hope that we always remember those that we pledged to one another and enjoy sharing our lives together as a “legally binding’ couple.

We havnt quite finished sorting out all the wedding stuff yet but I have put some of our lovely decorations to good use around the flat 🙂

image

I thought it would be nice to freshen up the flat, now that the wedding planning is done, by moving things around a bit. In the summer I like to be able to have our double doors to the Juliette balcony open.
image
image

We are still getting wedding post and Mr & Mrs cards which is always nice!

image

I ordered some photos from the free prints app This is great as you get 50 free prints a month and only pay postage.

image

I used this alot for the wedding and I thought I would get a few pictures of the wedding printed that our guests took and that were shared on facebook…
image

… It’s nice to have some to look at until we get our official ones through.

Well, that’s all for now!

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Happy Fathers Day

As you’ll know,  this Sunday was Fathers Day. This year we thought it would be nice (weather permitted) to have a BBQ. Thankfully we were lucky and the sun shone for us, it was a lovely day.

image

I got some cool gold & blue striped plates, cups and cutlery from Tiger as well as some bunting to match (also from Tiger)
They did this disposable range in a few different colours, great for a party, but we thought the blue was best for this occasion.

image

Once everyone had arrived we got the food going on the BBQ…

image

We had a lovely selection  of food, Dad brought along some kettle chip style crisps, I’d brought some of the Slimming World burgers and sausages as well as some Coleslaw, Sarah had prepared corn on the cobs, veggie kebabs with halloumi as well as some other sides and Charlotte brought along some more sausages, burgers and chilli & mango chicken, Yummy!
image

For dessert we had chocolate brownies with cream and trifle, safe to say we were all suitably stuffed by the end.

What a lovely way go spend a Sunday! ☆

HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD!

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

The final wedding update (15) ♡

Here it is, my final wedding blog post! I can’t believe I’m saying this but it’s a just over a week since the big day, a fact that has made me feel pretty sad this week.

It was AMAZING.

The cool thing about doing this blog after the wedding is that I can include lots of pictures without ruining anything for the guests.

Apologies but it’s a long one.

The Thursday before the wedding me and Sarah started the wedding prep by getting our nails done. We got acrylics with gel polish. I them.

image

The Friday before we spent all day at Wantisden Valley setting up. Although at times it was stressful I loved bringing it all together and finally seeing our vision  in the flesh.

image

Here are some pictures of the venue slowly coming to life….

image

The ceremony room

I loved the pink and green flowers for the chairs and the Daily Prophet programmes.

image

The table decorations

image

The flower centrepieces that I made from Pinterest looked fab on the tables, I was really pleased that all the hours of cutting and pinning were worth it, they added a unique and handmade twist to our table centrepieces.

image

More of the venue including the photo booth & our Honeydukes themed sweet shop

image

Outside the venue

It took us from 11am until 6pm when the barn closed to get everything ready but it was SO worth it and went really smoothly with all our helpers pitching in.

image

The next day it was all systems go from 8.30 am! First stop, hairdressers. My friend from work left us a bottle of Bucks Fizz for us to enjoy whilst we had our hair done which was lovely. It was really nice getting our hair done professionally and to see Sarah and Roxys hair as they didnt have a trial.

My hair looked as lovely as the first time, I really started to feel like a bride when they put my veil and tiara on too.

Next stop, Charlotte’s to get ready.

image

Choccy crossaints, demolished and make up beautifully applied by Demi and it was soon 12.15 and time to leave for the venue. When the car pulled up it was so much more amazing than I ever imagined. Without a doubt it was one of my favourite bits of the day ♡

image

image

image

Wedding car selfie with Dad!

image

I don’t think I’ve ever been as nervous as I was walking down the aisle and standing doing my vows but, it was really lovely too, a special moment between me and Tim. People don’t lie when they say it’s a bit of a blur and that wasn’t just because of the tears!!

image

image

After the ceremony me and Tim went for a short drive in the wedding car which was one of my favourite moments of the whole day, it was lovely to take some time together alone on our special day.

image

Next up it was Pimms o clock, brushetta canapés and photos with our guests.

image
image

Once we had taken all the photos it was time for the speeches and wedding breakfast.

image
image

The speeches went down a treat as did the food.

Our caterers were the Mobile Pizzeria and the food was fantastic!! We had antipasti to start with pizzas, rosemary & garlic potatoes and salad for main. Dessert was either Eton Mess or baked apples with ginger biscuits. All delicious.
image

Here is our gorgeous cake made by my mum’s friend Gill, she did such a fantastic job!! We loved it.

I saw the design for this cake in a shop window and gave that design as the basis for Gill to follow. Our little Venetian masks that we got in Venice when we got engaged looked great on top too.

image

Cutting our cake

image

We chose Stand by me by Ben E King as our first dance song. It was Tim’s suggestion and I thought it was a lovely and different choice for a first dance song.

I really enjoyed this too ♡ although it’s wierd everyone watching you dance and I kept standing on my dress haha.
You can’t see them, but I actually had cream sparkly converse on instead of my heels!!

All that was left to do after that was to party the night away…

image

It was lovely to see more of our friends arrive in the evening and we had more yummy food from the Mobile Pizzeria, pulled pork baps and Mac n cheese.

Our DJ Paul Allen was amazing and kept us and our guests dancing all night! Me and Tim even had a game of Mr & Mrs which was a lots of fun.

Iyla (my sister Sarah & her husband Dans niece) caught our bouquet! She was so excited bless her.

At the end of the night we had our final song Never Forget by Take That and Paul let off two confetti cannons in our pink and green colour scheme, that was really cool and an awesome way to end a fantastic day!

It was the best day of our lives and was as amazing as we had hoped. The planning, preparation, money and stress were more than worth it ♡

I loved this little summary of the big day from Tim’s cousin Emma…

Tim and Roseanne became Mr and Mrs Byford with an amazing, original and heartfelt wedding. Roseanne was the chilled-est happy, beautiful bride – Tim was a beaming, witty (seriously loved your speech) and proud groom. The cake was awesome (who made it?!) the wedding breakfast was Pizza!!! There were chocolate frogs and it was in middle earth. Roseanne won Pinterest. Pimms and canapés in the sunshine. Big group pictures and a baby A who covered his suit in smears of goats cheese. Fast forward to chocolate fountain, delicious pulled pork baps and tasty mystery meat pies and some class music and dancing. Dancing to a bunch of early 00s hits, so glad to hear year 3000 played.
Meanwhile Tim is in the midst of becoming a Pokemon master. Suddenly everyone has put their tie around their head, crazy wedding tribe. Particularly great with Tim’s bow tie. Glad we got Stacey’s Mum and some sk8er boi in there. Classic disco. Beautiful Congo line.
All tied up with Take That ‘Never Forget’.

So how does it feel to get married?

I’ll finish with this quote from Giovanna Fletchers latest book ‘Always with Love’

‘I needed to know that I’m unequivocally and unquestionably loved, and that whoever I choose to give my fragile heart to can be trusted to house it and keep it safe alongside their own.’

Until next time,

Mrs Byford 🙂
