πŸŽ…πŸŽ… BLOGMAS 2018 πŸŽ…πŸŽ…

Its that time of year again!

Blogmas is back.

If you aren’t familiar with Blogmas then basically it is 24 (or 25) festive posts from the start of December up until the big day itself.

The rules, one post a day, and make them fully festive.

Christmas is 100% my favourite time of the year.

Yeah, it’s a bit chilly but I am so ready for some serious festive fun.

I hope you enjoy these posts throughout December and if there’s anything in particular I can do let me know.

Which sort of Blogmas posts are your fave?

Until next time,

Bonfire night πŸŽ†βœ¨

I love an excuse for a get together and since I met my husband we have started up a little tradition on bonfire night.

We do usually go to a local fireworks display with our friends, as well, but unfortunately we couldn’t make it this year which was a shame!

But as the 4th was a Sunday and we usually head over to my father in laws for dinner, we were able to at least carry out our other bonfire night tradition.

It wasn’t too cold, just enough to warrant wrapping up and making yourself nice and cosy.

We had our traditional jacket potatoes and hot dogs to eat.

We followed that up with hot chocolate and baked apples, both of which were delicious and super warming.

It was so cosy sitting outside by the light of the tea lights and fires.

So yummy.

Inbetween the food we also had some large, gold sparklers to add to the bonfire night feel.

I love the smell of the fires and sparklers in the crisp, fresh evening air.

Gotta love a sparkler! πŸŽ†πŸŽ‡βœ¨

& we even managed to finish up the festivities just in time for Doctor Who.

A lovely, cosy family evening. Good food & good company.

I hope you enjoyed your bonfire night celebrations!!

Until next time,

Malteaser Millionaires shortbread.

I havn’t done a baking post in a little while and as the Autumn/Winter months draw closer it’s all about cosy comforts, and these are perfect.

Plus, it’s Bake Off season so who doesn’t love a bit of inspired baking.

I used a BBC Good Food recipe as they always work so well. I’ll leave that here

I modified this recipe to create these Malteaser filled beauties.

In addition to the ingredients you’ll need:

  • Malteaser Teaser chocolate bar
  • Malteaser buttons (Large share bag)
  • Malteaser Teaser chocolate spread

Just mix these into the chocolate stated in the recipe, melt them together to make them extra special. Add the Malteaser buttons to the melted chocolate mix too but, keep some as decoration.

These went down a treat at the Macmillan Coffee mornings that I attended.

Happy baking!

Until next time,

Summer diaries: Week Two, Three & Four!

Apologies for the delay! But my ‘Holiblog’ series kind of took over!

But, the summer hols are only just over so I thought I would finish the series up and update you guys on how I spent the middle weeks of the holidays.

The reason I’ve lumped a few weeks together is because I’m not going to actually explain what I did in weeks Two and Three as that is when we were in Florida…Instead I will leave the links to my holiblogs…

Weeks Two and Three

Florida 18 Holiblog pt1

Florida 18 Holiblog pt2

Week Four

Thursday 23rd/Friday 24th August 2018

Tonight (Thurs) I slept over at my twin sister Sarah’s house.

We had a treat dinner before heading to bed ready for the celebrations the next day.

Friday 24th August 2018 marks two years since my beautiful youngest nephew Casey James was born.

I am so happy I am waking up there and being able to experience his birthday with him first thing. We have a fun day planned!

Our first stop was the cinema to watch

‘Luis and the aliens’

It was brilliant and we had a great time, especially with some yummy snacks and drinks included.

The film was one of the best kids films I’ve seen in ages!

Next stop! McDonald’s for a birthday treat lunch.

Stop number three, Pennikkity Pots!

Here we did something a bit different but fun and creative. The boys both chose a ceramic and they painted it. Casey chose a fish whilst Noah painted a shark.

They loved it!

Nana & Grandads in the evening for more presents opening and cake!!

It was a jammed packed but fun day to celebrate Casey turning two!

Saturday 25th August 2018

Me & my friend from work met up this evening to have a meal together.

Nandos was delicious as usual and the halloumi starter proved as difficult to avoid as always.

It was great to catch up after my holiday and have a good old chat!

Sunday 26th August 2018

Casey Jame’s second birthday party.

It’s kind of a tradition to have a little party each year, with all the family! So of course this year was no exception.

At Sarah & Dans we had party food, present opening, fun, games and of course cake!

There was a definite dino theme amongst his presents and he loved his dinosaur Jurassic World birthday cake.

We rounded off the day with a delicious impromptu (always the best kind) Chinese takeaway.

That’s the penultimate week done, its the last week next week 😱

Until next time,

Harry Potter Gobstone Alley box βš‘

One of the coolest gifts that I got for my birthday in May was a Harry Potter box of goodies. I recently received this from my friend and had to share it with you guys.

There are loads of Subscription boxes out there that are Harry Potter themed and they are also available as a one off box too, which is what I received.

So let’s take a look!

I love the detail that’s on each item, packaging and the box itself…

Inside the box…

You get a Umbridge proclamation with a list of all of the items in your box…

Our 2nd Wedding Anniversary πŸ’πŸ’— 11.06.16

If you’ve followed my blog for any sort of time you’ll know that it all began when I was planning our wedding and wanted to document the journey… if not, hey πŸ‘‹πŸ» & that’s how this little blog began!

Fast forward two years and here we are on our second wedding anniversary… yep, two whole years!! Where did that time even go.

So, what can I say about two years of marriage...
β—‹Remember that you’re in it together, part of a team πŸ’‘

β—‹You’ve always got someone to make cool plans with ✈

β—‹Best friends for life, Husband & Wife.

β—‹He’s still as annoying πŸ€ͺ but he’s my annoying, forever β™‘ (& I’m sure I’m just as annoying too tbf)

β—‹There’s support, whenever you need it & when you don’t even realise you need it yourself.

β—‹I still find it weird that I’m a Mrs! πŸ’

β—‹& it still feels a bit strange to say ‘My husband’… far too adult haha πŸ€΅πŸŽ©πŸ‘ž

β—‹It’s not easy but it’s always worth it.

β—‹It was the best day of my life.

How did we celebrate?

We stayed over for a night at Waveny River Centre in Norfolk, in a Yurt! It’s like a fancy and super cosy tent, very cool.

As you can see from the pictures it’s really lovely and a fun change from a hotel.

We had a nice meal out at the local pub and just spent some time together playing games and such in the evening which was nice and chilled.

This morning we opened up our lovely cards, Tim got me some beautiful flowers & I got him some of his favourite sweets.

We only got each other a little something as we like saving money to do things, like staying in the Yurt, instead.

& there we have it..

730 days

17,520 hours

1,051,200 minutes

63,072,000 seconds

And still counting… πŸ’—

Until next time,

Part one: Our 27th Birthday celebrations πŸŽ‰

If your going to celebrate you might as well go all in.

I love a Birthday, a chance to have fun, eat lots of good food & spend time with your favourite people.

& being a twin I’ve always enjoyed having someone to share the special day with.

Even though I’m not quite sure how I am now a 27 year old person, (Like, I was at sixth form yesterday wasn’t I!?!) Where did that time go!?!

But, a lot of great things have been achieved since then so why not celebrate another year of living life ✌🏻

So how did we celebrate? Here’s how…

Friday 11th May

On Friday evening we met up with our friends for a meal together. It was great to see everyone as it’s much harder for us all to get together now a days.

Nandos was of course our choice of restaurant, you can’t beat a cheeky Nandos.

Me & my twin sister Sarah have the same group of friends from school, so that makes it alot easier too.

Saturday 12th May

We started off with our usual Saturday morning tradition, Parkrun.

32266810_10156454497045762_5297962951276232704_n

A 5k course around our local park. Crazy you might think but, it was a perfect way to start the birthday weekend of indulgence. I didn’t feel as guilty knowing I’d done my run for the day.

We went our separate ways to freshen up after the run and then ‘re grouped’ at mum & dad’s for a family birthday breakfast brunch.

32313612_10156454453035762_644462978090926080_n

I honestly don’t know why we have never done this before, because let’s be real, breakfast food is the best food.

It was good fun getting together, enjoying some yummy food and opening some pressies. We even had birthday cupcakes with candles.

We then spent the rest of the day chilling out and then me and Tim got ready for the evening.

Tim’s work friend had invited us along to her wedding reception so this is how we spent the evening.

32314054_10157398463256679_5578735941352161280_n

It was a BEAUTIFUL setting and the flowers & fairy lights were so pretty. Love a wedding.

Sunday 13th May

We had booked ourselves in for an Escape room experience for Sunday so me, Tim, Sarah and her husband Dan went off to the Escape Room in Colchester. We booked the ‘Witchcraft & Wizardry’ escape room for us to attempt as me and Sarah are big fans of Harry Potter (Don’t think Ive mentioned that before… haha)

One room, One hour…

It was really good fun and WE MADE IT OUT!! With 7 minutes to spare.

32530689_10156457082150762_6244817216420708352_n

In the evening we had our traditional family birthday meal.

We chose Byron Burger as the location (Second year running!) and it didn’t disappoint. We had a feast, it was sooooo good, especially their new Halloumi fries.

Here’s what I had…

●Clucky chicken burger

● French fries

● Me & Tim shared Halloumi fries & Chicken nuggets

● Banana milkshake

Once we had all finished we headed back to mine and Tim’s to have cake!

Tim chose the cake for us πŸ˜‚ A Paw Patrol traybake.

It was a great birthday and lots of fun was had.

I’m going to do a part 2: ‘What I got for my birthday’ so keep your eyes peeled for that πŸ‘€

Until next year,

Leftover Easter chocolate!

If there is some leftovers after Easter Sunday… I’d be very surprised if I have any… I thought that these would be the perfect solution!

Don’t they just look delectable!?!

Grab those creme eggs that you couldn’t manage and make something yummy for yourself, or if you want to share (you might not, they are sooooo good) make them for family and friends too.

Gooey creme egg & mini egg brownies, absolute heaven 😍

I will leave a link to the basic brownie mix that I used and of course explain my eggcellent πŸ˜‚ (sorry, not sorry) extra naughty but, nice additions.

BBC Good Food ‘Best Ever Brownies’ recipe

So I made up the Brownie mix that I’ve linked above, and stirred in a pack of mini eggs, with me it’s Cadbury’s all the way people. I then halved creme eggs and pushed them into the batter so they were halfway submerged in the gooey goodness.

Perfection.

You 100% need to give these a go if you are a lover of chocolate like me, you won’t regret it.

Let me know how you get on!

Until next time,

Easter baskets for the kids πŸ£

Easter has got to be one of my favourite celebrations. Now I’m not a Christian so I don’t celebrate it in the traditional sense, however I do enjoy the way that we ‘celebrate’ this annual occasion.

I love the giving (& recieivng of, because your lieing if you don’t enjoy receiving chocolate!!) chocolatey treats! Picking ones out you’ll know that your nearest and dearest will enjoy (FYI my fam, it’s all about Terrys choc oranges, Cadbury Mini eggs & Maltester bunnies 🀣)

I thought that since my nephews are a bit older it would be nice to get a bit creative with their Easter Gifts this year. I’ve also done a smaller scale one for my niece as she’s only 9 months old but I didn’t want to leave her out!

So let’s take a look at the goodies…

I picked up these super cute buckets from Home bargains and some ‘straw’ to fill them with.

I picked up a yellow one each for the boys and a purple one for Evie.

Now to add the treats…

In each basket the boys have got:

● A large chocolate character, one is a pig, ones a lamb.

● Mini assorted Easter chocolates

● A wind up toy, bunny & chick

● A large bubble wand

● A decorate your own chocolate egg kit

● For Noah I’ve popped in a Easter arts & crafts pack

● For Casey (as he is a bit smaller) I popped in a soft cuddly lamb teddy, super cute.

For Evie’s little basket I just filled it with some of her favourite snack bits & sweet treats, baby-tastic. I had to include her favourite banana wafers!

Such a cute & simple idea for the little ones.

Have a great Easter guys.

Until next time,
