Mini Slimming World food Haul πŸ΄

I’ve grabbed quite a few different and new Slimming World friendly products this recently during our weekly food shops so I thought I would fill you guys in.

Let’s start with savory…

Butternut squaffles

These are so tasty and a great alternative to high syn waffles and chips. Butternut squash is an S too which is great and it means a less carb loaded meal which is nice to have sometimes.

Skin on Sweet potatoe chips

Sweet potatoes are quite hard to cut up and I was feeling a bit lazy haha. These are super tasty and a yummy alternative to normal potatoe chips.

Courgette lasagne sheets

Again these were a nice alternative to pasta lasagne sheets and are an S which is even better. These can just be layered inbetween the usual mince and cheese sauces without any need to be pre cooked! Much quicker, less faffing about.

Heck chicken sausages

These sausages are so yummy and only 0.5 syn for 2. I know it may seem wierd as they are chicken but they make a nice alternative to pork sausages and have a really nice flavour. The Italia ones with mozzarella & tomato are my favourites.

Porky lights sausages

These are so tasty and only 0.5 syn each which is awesome for pork sausages. These are so good! Their only downfall is the price so I try to grab them when they are on offer.

Hula hoop pufts, ready salted

These crisps are really nice and great as a snack. They are 3 syns a bag which is really low for crisps.

And sweet…

Muller light Yoghurt

Completely free and so yummy. An excellent dessert, snack or addition to a packed lunch.

Fibre one squares

These fibre one treats are only 4 syns each, and trust me they are worth it! The chocolate brownies in particular are as good (if not better) than many cafe brownies. They also come in Lemon drizzle and salted caramel flavour.

Chocolate coated rice cake bars

These are a great chocolate fix and I love having these as a snack at work. These are 4.5 syns per bar. I also have these in chocolate orange flavour which is my favourite.
And of course…lots of fresh fruit and veg! This is probably the bulk of our weekly shop but so worth it and super good for you. We always have apples, Pears, strawberries & raspberries (when available) and lots of salad veg such as toms, peppers, cucumber etc as these are my favourites to eat.

I’m going to do a post soon with some yummy Slimming World recipes so if you liked this post keep your eyes peeled for that πŸ‘

Work Christmas party 🍾Blogmas day 22

On Tuesday was our work Christmas meal and it was an evening at Fynn Valley golf club, a meal & disco.

I’m not usually one to take photos of myself but I loved my outfit, I bought this dress from Boohoo a few months ago so I was pleased to finally be able to wear it!!! It was Β£25 and it’s so pretty.

Fynn Valley looked lovely and we all had a lovely place setting complete with a Christmas cracker!

The meal was really yummy, for starters I had filo prawns…

My Main course was Venison pie with roasties and vegetables.

& dessert was a trio, lemon meringue pie, chocolate mousse and sticky toffee pudding, delicious.

Once we had all eaten it was time to party! It was good to let our hair down and have a chat & dance together, lots of fun.

It was so strange being back at Fynn Valley as it’s where my twin sister Sarah got married and I hadn’t been there since!!
It was a really fun night and a great start to the Christmas holidays! πŸŽ„

Today in my beauty advent calender…

Another favourite today! A liquid highlight. It looks so lovely.

It’s a lovely light gold shimmer 🌟

& here it is on, I couldn’t not try it out. I’ve also got the gorgeous baked blusher from yesterday on too 😌

Blogmas day 18 πŸŽ„Sunday lunch

Today me & my husband Tim met up with some of our friends that we havnt seen for a little while. We thought it would be nice to go for a meal together just before Christmas so we met at a little pub called the Westerfield Swan.

Since its almost Christmas (1 week to go!) we thought we’d go in our Christmas jumpers.

The pub is so cosy & it looked lovely and festive πŸŽ„

The food was super delicious too, I went for the fish & chips for main and my favourite dessert..

The warm white chocolate tart! It’s amazing.

It was a lovely afternoon catching up, seeing little Harvey whose now 7 months old 😱 (Its scary how time flies) and just having a laugh.

In my beauty advent calender today…

I got this little eyeshadow brush, super handy for popping in your bag or for travelling.

1 week to go until Christmas!

Brunch 🍳

Yesterday morning me, Tim, Sarah, Dan, the kids & our friends went for brunch at Coast to Coast. They have recently opened in the newly refurbished Buttermarket shopping centre in my home town.

The interior is really cool in Coast to Coast!

The food was super yummy too…

I had the breakfast feast that consisted of crispy bacon, sausage, fried eggs, breakfast potatoes, a sweet potatoe fritter & pancakes with maple syrup…

And tea of course…

Tim had the breakfast stack which also comes with breakfast potatoes too.

Noah had a lovely time too with his fruit & Yoghurt sundae πŸ“

It was nice to all meet up and have some yummy food 😊

A great way to spend a rainy day πŸŒ§β›†

Until next time,

A weekend of fun πŸŽ†πŸ˜±πŸ‘

This weekend we’ve had lots of fun, friends, fireworks, frights, family & food! My idea of a great weekend.

It started on Friday evening with us going to the fireworks in Sproughton with friends. We grabbed some hot food & drinks and watched the fireworks together, they were really good. We had sparklers afterwards and then checked out the toasty bonfire πŸŽ†πŸ”₯

On Saturday me, Tim, Sarah & four other friends went to Scaresville at Kentwell Hall! I’ve never been to anything like that before and it was brilliant! It’s basically a horror live action experience with sets and scarers. I have never jumped & screamed so much in my entire life πŸ˜„πŸ˜±

The location, sets & actors are fab and you really feel like you are in a horror film. It lasted for an hour & a half and for how good it was Β£27 was a bargin! I can’t wait to go again next year 😱

Here are some pics of the ‘Unfairground’ where you wait for your scare experience to begin!

And a group selfie to prove we made it out alive!

Sunday saw a visit from this little guy…

Noah, my eldest nephew came round for a play with Auntie RoRo & Uncle TT on Sunday morning.

He loved the new Mr Kipling cake stand I had got him and we also played some instruments together & did some colouring too.

We stopped for lunch & a spot of Peppa pig before dropping him back off home.

It was lovely to see him as always πŸ’™

Once we had dropped Noah home we made our way to The Swan at Westerfield for Tim’s nannas birthday meal. It was nice to see some of the family & to enjoy some yummy food.

My main was Spinach & buffalo ricotta ravioli in a tomatoe sauce.

Tim had the cheese & bacon steak burger with chips & onion rings.

Dessert was my favourite though…

Baked white chocolate tart with berry compote & vanilla ice cream

Hands down one of the best desserts I’ve had in agesπŸ‘Œ

Tim had the double chocolate pot 🍫

We spent the rest of Sunday chilling out together, eating snacks & binge watching the big bang theory (Do we really have to go to work tommorrow?!? 😣)

What did you get up to this weekend?

Until next time,

Holiday Glamping fun πŸ•

In the half term me, my husband Tim, Sister Sarah, her husband Dan & their kiddies Noah & Casey went on a little holiday together.

We decided to go to Wavney River Centre in Norfolk to stay in one of their ‘Escape pods’ for a couple of nignts Thurs-Sat. My sister and her family had previously stayed there and loved it so we thought why not!

Here’s our pod…

Me & Tim had the top bunk whilst Sarah & Dan had the beds either side, with the children in the middle.

It may look small but you don’t feel like you squished considering there were 4 adults and 2 small children in our one. It’s all made of wood which is lovely and they have a nice homey feel to them.

Tim loved chilling out on the bunk πŸ‘

There is lots to do on site at Wavney River Centre! They have a swimming pool with a jacuzzi, a lovely children’s play area and a pub/resturant that serves delicious food & drinks.

Little Casey had his first swim during the holiday which he seemed to enjoy & Noah loved dipping his toes into the jacuzzi.

There were a few things to do nearby too, within driving distance (I would say having a car is essential if you are staying there)

We took the kiddies to the Oasis Camel Park. πŸͺ🐫

We saw lots of animals…

…but, Tim was the only one brave enough to feed them.

We made it out of the maze…

…I made a new friend…

& we took a train ride πŸš‚πŸšƒ

Camel selfie πŸ‘πŸ«

It was a fun day! We went swimming again afterwards & had smores in the evening after some yummy food at the resturant.

On the Saturday we met up with my other sister & her husband at Pleasurewood hills for their ‘Pleasurewood Chills’ event. There were lots of spooky decorations, rides & an awesome fireworks display to finish the night!

The fireworks display was really good..πŸŽ†

We rounded off the holiday with a meal together at the Harvester nearby! It was such a good holiday, I didn’t want it to end.

What did you get up to in half term?

Until next time,

Afternoon tea πŸ°β˜•

One of my favourite meals has to be afternoon tea and my mum enjoys it too so, when a offer came up on Groupon for Afternoon tea at Patisserie Valerie I thought why not! The Groupon was for afternoon tea for 2, Β£19 instead of Β£25.

Me & my mum decided to go this week as it was almost the end of the voucher validity and it’s half term.

I was really looking forward to this and we weren’t disappointed!

Here’s the 3 tier cake stand of treats!

The bottom tier consisted of little finger sandwiches (cucumber, ham & mustard, smoked salmon, chicken & pesto, egg & cress) as well as a little vegetable tartlet each.

The middle tier was the scones with clotted cream and jam. you get a mini plain and fruit scone each which was nice.

The top tier is all about cake. You got a mini chocolate eclair each (mum swapped hers for a coffee macaroon as she doesn’t eat chocolate) a chocolate mousse cake slice, a Carrot & walnut slice, a fruit mousse slice and a mini Victoria sponge.

I’ve had afternoon tea a few times at the Salthouse hotel in Ipswich, this is quite a high end version at Β£17.50 each but I have to say I was very impressed with Patisserie Valerie’s. The selection was nice with lots of different sandwiches, yummy cakes & different scones too. Great value for money πŸ‘

Definatly one to try if you are a fan of afternoon tea like me.

Where have you tried afternoon tea? Any recommendations?

Until next time,

What I eat in a day πŸ΄πŸ€—

As you may or may not know from my blog, I follow the Slimming World plan.

Disclaimer: This isn’t a plug for Slimming World! I just want to show you what I can eat in a day on this plan, how yummy some of the food is & some of the food & snacks I enjoy the most πŸ‘

Let’s start with my favourite meal, breakfast

A standard breakfast for me is something along the lines of Weetabix or porridge topped with banana or berries. On the weekends I love having a cooked brekky but during the week this hits the spot πŸ‘Œ

This is usually accompanied with a coffee or tea β˜•

Snacks

Now working in a school means that we have a break time mid morning. I am usually quite hungry by then and there are a few things I like to have for Snack… I obviously don’t have these all on the same day, these are just some of my faves.

Crisps: Aldi Sour cream & chive pitta crisps 5.5 syns

Aldi honey and granola bites 1 syn each

Mallow & Marsh bar, raspberry marshmallow covered in dark chocolate 7 syns

Lots of fruit πŸŠπŸŒπŸŽπŸπŸπŸ“

Lunch

Here’s a typical lunch for me, I obviously mix it up as I’m not one of these people who can have the same lunch, day in, day out.

This yummy salad bowl consisted of salad leaves, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red cabbage & beetroot served with chicken slices, ham & cottage cheese.

I will usually have a mugshot alongside a salad as well as some more fruit & a Yoghurt too.

Dinner

This was one of the yummiest Slimming World meals I have made so far, Crispy chicken with loaded potatoes skins & homemade coleslaw πŸ˜‹

The Crispy coating is made from dipping the chicken in beaten egg & then coating it in seasoned Smash powder. I filled the potatoes skins with a mix of the potatoes, spring onion, ham, cheese, salt & pepper. Tasty!

I made the coleslaw using a combination of shredded Carrot, onion & red cabbage mixed with light mayo.

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you would like any of the recipes in full let me know πŸ‘

Until next time,

August favourites πŸ€—

I’ve wanted to do a favourites post for ages but I’ve never got round to it. I might have mentioned some of these things in other posts but these are a few things that I have been loving this month.

First up, beauty & skincare…

I have definatly mentioned these first two before and I am still loving these so much!

Maybelline brow satin in the shade ‘Medium Brown’. This is a make up staple for me now, it’s so easy to apply.

Bourjois Rough velvet edition in the shade 07 ‘Nude-ist’. This glides on really nicely and dries matte. I πŸ’Ÿ this liquid lipstick, it’s my favourite out of all of my lipsticks. πŸ’„

Revolutions New Pro Glow highlighter palette. These colours are so beautiful and shimmery. I particularly like the gold shades as I haven’t tried these in a highlighter before.

And finally…

Niveas intensive hydration after sun moisturiser. We discovered this on our honeymoon and it was perfect to apply after being in the sun all day and for making your skin feel really fresh and rich in moisture.

I love the smell of this too as it takes me right back to our honeymoon…ahhh β›±

Next up, fashion.

I love this t-shirt from Primark. I love the stripes and the heart patch is super cute. This was only Β£5.

I’ve been wearing my new Havaianas a lot this month! We’ve had some pretty nice weather so these have been perfect and they are super comfy.

These were only Β£21 after my 10% discount, I got them in Office.

Let’s talk books…

I love reading and it’s one of my favourite hobbies. These two I have particularly enjoyed and they are by two of my favourite authors.

The first one I’ll talk about is ‘That girl from nowhere’ by Dorothy Koomson.

‘Clemency Smittson was adopted as a baby and the only connection she has to her birth mother is a cardboard box hand-decorated with butterflies. Now an adult, Clem moves to Brighton, where she was born, and meets someone who knows all about the butterfly box and what happened to her birth parents.’

This was one of the books I read on our honeymoon and I couldn’t put it down!

I’d also recommend her novel ‘Goodnight, beautiful’ that I read this month too.

I am currently reading ‘See me’ by Nicholas Sparks. I’m up to chapter 8 and I’m loving it already, his novels are just so easy to read.

‘Colin Hancock is giving his second chance his best shot. At 28, he’s focused on getting his teaching degree and avoiding all the places and people that proved so destructive in his past. The last thing he’s looking for is a serious relationship. But when he crosses paths with Maria Sanchez one rainswept night, his carefully structures life is turned upside down.’

And finally, food!

A couple of food items that I’ve really been enjoying this month both come from Aldi. This is where we do our weekly shop so I just picked these up to give them a try and ended up loving them.

This fizzy drink is Raspberry and Mint flavour, it is so refreshing and tastes so fresh and yummy.

The Granola squares in the picture above ☝ are super tasty! They are ‘Crispy oats & Honey Granola bites’ little squares of oaty goodness, be careful though, they are super moreish πŸ™Š

What have you been enjoying the month? Let me know 😎

Until next time,

ROTD: Pancakes 🍓🍌

I thought I would share a delicious recipe with you,  quick, easy & a great way to start the day!

Here goes…

Ingredients:

  • 2oz Plain flour
  • 1 Med egg
  • 100ml Skimmed milk (or semi)
  • 50 ml Water
  • Fry light
  • Fruit of your choice
  • syrup

Recipe:

1. whisk eggs then add water and milk

2. sift in flour then mix well

3. fry in the fry light

I chose strawberries, banana & raspberries as my fruit. These are so delicious on pancakes 😋

Ta Da!…

So yummy πŸ™‚

To add a little extra deliciousness to my pancakes I drizzled them with this…

Sweet Freedoms Fruit Syrup. It’s a nice alternative to golden syrup and does just as good a job, plus it’s natural so it’s a bit better for you too!

Seriously, can a day really be bad if it starts with pancakes?

Go on, treat yourself! β˜†

Until next time,
