Blogmas 2016: Day one πŸŽ„

It’s here! Blogmas 2016. So much has happened since I was last doing this but I’m thrilled to be doing it again, this is my favourite time of year after allπŸŽ„

I thought I would ease into it with some festive pictures to get you in the Christmas spirit. These are of different things I have seen popping up in shops etc over November and being the Christmas lover that I am I couldn’t not take pictures!!

It’s also important to make you aware that at the end of each post I will include a little bit about my Beauty advent calender. I’ve never had one before but my husband kindly bought me the Make up Revolution one and I can’t wait to open the windows and share with you what I get.

Festive pics coming up…

Ahh I love it!! Christmas is the BEST.

So what did I get in my first advent calender window…

I got this gorgeous nude lipstick! I’m not usually one for Nudes, more of a pink kinda gal! but this is really lovely, especially for this season! This will be a lovely addition to my collection, my first proper nude lipstick.

Tomorrows blogmas post will be all about advent 🎁 I’ll go into more detail about my calender, price etc.

OOTD: A Night Out look πŸΉ

Last night we had pre drinks at mine & Tim’s and then headed to town to celebrate my brother in law Dan’s 27th Birthday.

I really liked this outfit as it was a nice going out outfit but it was actually really comfy too, great for dancing πŸ’ƒ

I’ve also included the make up look that I went for, I’ll include as much information about the products I used & the clothes as I can!

We’ll start with the outfit first as I based the make up look on what I was wearing (Once I had decided!!)

Blouse: Primark Β£8-11 (sorry I can’t remember exactly)

Jeans, high waisted super skinny: Primark Β£8 reduced from Β£9

Shoes: Black patent moccasins, Primark Β£8

Choker:  with rose gold tips, Ebay Β£2.50 for a set of 2

I love these jeans for this look as they are really skinny and quite a dark denim so they look really smart with this outfit & are perfect for a night out. I don’t usually wear trouser for a night out but it was nice for a change.

The choker finished off this outfit really well, my sister got it for me from Ebay and it’s really cool. It comes as a set of two with a plain black velvet one.

I really liked how my make up turned out last night, I went a bit extra with the eyes as I think this is what sets a night out look apart from a everyday look.

Base/Foundation: Body shop bb cream shade 2, Β£12 & Bourjois Radiance reveal healthy mix foundation (1 pump) Β£9.99

Concealor: Collection lasting perfection in ‘Cool medium’ for the face, Superdrug Β£4.19 & Bourjois Radiance reveal in ‘Ivory’ for under the eyes, Superdrug Β£8.99

Blush: Revolution ‘Blush goddess’ blush palette, Superdrug Β£6

Highlighter: Sleek MakeUp Highlighter palette ‘Precious metals’ SuperdrugΒ£9.99

Lipstick: Mac Velvet teddy Β£15

Eyes: Revolution ‘Fortune favours the brave’ palette, Superdrug Β£9.99

Charlotte Tilbury ‘Legendary lashes’ mascara Β£25

Make up brushes: Real techniques brushes

I really liked this look and I think my eyeshadow skills are defiantly improving.

This maroon, brown eye look went really well with my outfit, the revolution palette has some gorgeous colours.

The lipstick is a browny nude which I usually don’t like at all but I think this one is growing on me, I may need to add this to my Christmas list!!

I hope you enjoyed this going out look πŸ’‹

What are your make up favs for a great night out or an everyday look?

Until next time,

My daily skincare routine.

I thought I would share with you my usual morning skincare routine, including the products that I like to use.

I start off my skincare routine in the shower. I use normal shower creme but I am loving this lemon scented one from Aldi at the moment.

It’s really lemony, zesty & fragrant. The smell & oils in this really hit you and wake you up! and you deal fresh and clean ready for the day ahead πŸ‹

I also like to use Zoellas Scrubbing me softly smoothing body scrub from her Tutti Fruitti range.

This smells really lovely and I absolutly LOVE the texture of it. It’s quite thick & smooth but when you rub it into your skin you can really feel the beads gently exfoliating your skin and it does leave it feeling so smooth.

The last thing I use in the shower is my LUSH ocean salt face & body scrub.

Lashings of fine sea salt to scrub and clean, organic limes to brighten and avocado butter to soften your skin.

This is so lovely & does exactly what it says on the tin πŸ‘Œ

I use this on the areas of my face where I get particularly dry skin or where my face breaks out the most, I’ve been doing this at the advice of the beautician who did my facial at Aqua springs during half term and it has defiantly helped me reduce the amount of spots I get on those problem areas.

LUSH create lovely natural products which is good to know if you use their things regularly. I use this once or twice a week depending on how my skin is.

Once I’m out of the shower I cleanse and tone.

(I’ve just run out of the cleanser so I couldn’t include a picture!!)

Both my cleanser and toner are from Superdrug Vitamin E range. This is great for adding moisture to your skin and since my skin can be a little dry this is ideal for me.

I put a little bit of the product onto a cotton pad and apply it all over my face and neck. Cleanser first, then toner.

I have a couple of different moisturisers & creams that I use on my face. I’ll start with my moisturiser by Olay.

I have been using this Olay day time beauty fluid for Normal/dry/combo skin since my teens and it has always left my skin feeling moisturised and refreshed. Now that I am mid twentys (ahh, that makes me feel old πŸ™ˆ) I think my skin is in pretty good condition & I’m sure this moisturiser has played it’s part!

To add a bit more hydration to my skin I also use the Day cream from Superdrugs Vitamin E range. 24hr hydration πŸ’§

This cream is rich in natural Vitamin E, high in anti oxidants and defends against environmental skin damage, it’s spf 15 too! 🌝

This cream is a bit thicker than the Olay one so it’s nice to have a couple of different products that work for my skin.

In the picture you’ll also see the Moisture boost facial serum from the Superdrug Vitamin E range; I use this every other day. This serum is more of a gel consistency and is great to apply before or after moisturiser.

And, the Nourishing eye cream; I use this probably every other day or when my eyes are feeling particularly tired and in need of a pick me up!

So that’s me! πŸ‘± Using these products always leaves my skin feeling lovely & ready for the day (even without any make up)

My sister recently did a blog post on some of her skincare faves, including the new Garnier Skin active moisture bomb range! πŸ™Œ  Check that out here.

Let me know what your skincare staples are! Any recommendations?!?

Until next time,

YouTuber products πŸ–²πŸ›πŸŽ€

Here are a few products from two of my favourite YouTubers Zoella&Tanya Burr.

Tanya burr cosmetics ‘perfect brows’ kit.

This powder eyeshadow kit is great. It has four colours;

  • Fairy cake: this is a lovely highlighter to apply under the filled brown.
  • Pebble: A light beige colour to fill in the brow.
  • Chesnut: A light brown colour to fill in the brow.
  • Hot Cocoa: A dark brown colour to fill in the brow.

I use ‘Pebble’ & ‘Chesnut’ mixed together when I do my brows, this palette is great! I don’t use ‘Hot Cocoa’ as its a bit dark for me but it’s a lovely shade.

Everyday flutter lashes.

I haven’t used these yet but they look really pretty. These half lashes have a natural, eye opening effect.

I went for the ‘everyday’ lashes as I haven’t worn flash lashes before so I thought these would be good for a first try, without being too much.

I’m going to watch some of Tanya’s videos to see how to put them on best!

I bought three different products from the Zoella beauty ‘Tutti Fruity’ range. This range is being discontinued soon so I thought I would try some out of it out before that happens, plus my sister Sarah loves this range and is always raving about how nice it is.

Zoella scrubbing me softly smoothing body scrub.

280g Β£1.50

‘Buff your way to snuggly -soft skin with this fresh, fruity scrub. Enriched with Acai and blueberry this body Polish has a light, feminine fragrance to uplift and give you an instant burst of energy. With conditioning Cocoa butter -lovely scrubbly!

Zoella Candy cream softening body lotion.

160ml Β£1

‘Treat yourself to this delicious fresh, fruity cream for a soft and silky body. Packed with bursting beads and extracts of Acai and blueberry to pamper and protect because your skin needs a bit of love too!

Zoella ‘Kissy Missy’ lip balm.

Β£1

This has a lovely pink tinge to it and makes your lips feel really smooth, not tacky. The colour is lovely and good for a quick pop of colour.

& from the New Zoella lifestyle range…

The ‘Homemade treats’ reed diffuser.

Softly whipped butter xterm and gooey salted caramel drizzled over home-baked cupcakes. Bring some indulgence to youe home with this delicious scent; (almost) good enough to eat!

It smells SO good!! And the description of buttery creamy, cupcake goodness is on point. It takes a few days to diffuse fully but once it does its so yummy.

I really hope Zoella brings this scent out as a candle soon, they are perfecting it atm so fingers crossed it will be soon πŸ‘Œ

This would make an amazing candle πŸ•―

August favourites πŸ€—

I’ve wanted to do a favourites post for ages but I’ve never got round to it. I might have mentioned some of these things in other posts but these are a few things that I have been loving this month.

First up, beauty & skincare…

I have definatly mentioned these first two before and I am still loving these so much!

Maybelline brow satin in the shade ‘Medium Brown’. This is a make up staple for me now, it’s so easy to apply.

Bourjois Rough velvet edition in the shade 07 ‘Nude-ist’. This glides on really nicely and dries matte. I πŸ’Ÿ this liquid lipstick, it’s my favourite out of all of my lipsticks. πŸ’„

Revolutions New Pro Glow highlighter palette. These colours are so beautiful and shimmery. I particularly like the gold shades as I haven’t tried these in a highlighter before.

And finally…

Niveas intensive hydration after sun moisturiser. We discovered this on our honeymoon and it was perfect to apply after being in the sun all day and for making your skin feel really fresh and rich in moisture.

I love the smell of this too as it takes me right back to our honeymoon…ahhh β›±

Next up, fashion.

I love this t-shirt from Primark. I love the stripes and the heart patch is super cute. This was only Β£5.

I’ve been wearing my new Havaianas a lot this month! We’ve had some pretty nice weather so these have been perfect and they are super comfy.

These were only Β£21 after my 10% discount, I got them in Office.

Let’s talk books…

I love reading and it’s one of my favourite hobbies. These two I have particularly enjoyed and they are by two of my favourite authors.

The first one I’ll talk about is ‘That girl from nowhere’ by Dorothy Koomson.

‘Clemency Smittson was adopted as a baby and the only connection she has to her birth mother is a cardboard box hand-decorated with butterflies. Now an adult, Clem moves to Brighton, where she was born, and meets someone who knows all about the butterfly box and what happened to her birth parents.’

This was one of the books I read on our honeymoon and I couldn’t put it down!

I’d also recommend her novel ‘Goodnight, beautiful’ that I read this month too.

I am currently reading ‘See me’ by Nicholas Sparks. I’m up to chapter 8 and I’m loving it already, his novels are just so easy to read.

‘Colin Hancock is giving his second chance his best shot. At 28, he’s focused on getting his teaching degree and avoiding all the places and people that proved so destructive in his past. The last thing he’s looking for is a serious relationship. But when he crosses paths with Maria Sanchez one rainswept night, his carefully structures life is turned upside down.’

And finally, food!

A couple of food items that I’ve really been enjoying this month both come from Aldi. This is where we do our weekly shop so I just picked these up to give them a try and ended up loving them.

This fizzy drink is Raspberry and Mint flavour, it is so refreshing and tastes so fresh and yummy.

The Granola squares in the picture above ☝ are super tasty! They are ‘Crispy oats & Honey Granola bites’ little squares of oaty goodness, be careful though, they are super moreish πŸ™Š

What have you been enjoying the month? Let me know 😎

Until next time,

CHARLOTTE TILBURY

  • Colour chameleon eyeshadow pencil in the shade ‘Champagne diamonds’ Β£19
