What I eat in a day πŸ΄πŸ€—

As you may or may not know from my blog, I follow the Slimming World plan.

Disclaimer: This isn’t a plug for Slimming World! I just want to show you what I can eat in a day on this plan, how yummy some of the food is & some of the food & snacks I enjoy the most πŸ‘

Let’s start with my favourite meal, breakfast

A standard breakfast for me is something along the lines of Weetabix or porridge topped with banana or berries. On the weekends I love having a cooked brekky but during the week this hits the spot πŸ‘Œ

This is usually accompanied with a coffee or tea β˜•

Snacks

Now working in a school means that we have a break time mid morning. I am usually quite hungry by then and there are a few things I like to have for Snack… I obviously don’t have these all on the same day, these are just some of my faves.

Crisps: Aldi Sour cream & chive pitta crisps 5.5 syns

Aldi honey and granola bites 1 syn each

Mallow & Marsh bar, raspberry marshmallow covered in dark chocolate 7 syns

Lots of fruit πŸŠπŸŒπŸŽπŸπŸπŸ“

Lunch

Here’s a typical lunch for me, I obviously mix it up as I’m not one of these people who can have the same lunch, day in, day out.

This yummy salad bowl consisted of salad leaves, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red cabbage & beetroot served with chicken slices, ham & cottage cheese.

I will usually have a mugshot alongside a salad as well as some more fruit & a Yoghurt too.

Dinner

This was one of the yummiest Slimming World meals I have made so far, Crispy chicken with loaded potatoes skins & homemade coleslaw πŸ˜‹

The Crispy coating is made from dipping the chicken in beaten egg & then coating it in seasoned Smash powder. I filled the potatoes skins with a mix of the potatoes, spring onion, ham, cheese, salt & pepper. Tasty!

I made the coleslaw using a combination of shredded Carrot, onion & red cabbage mixed with light mayo.

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you would like any of the recipes in full let me know πŸ‘

Until next time,

Roseanne πŸ™‚

OOTD: Autumn casualΒ

I thought I would do another ‘Outfit of the day’ blog post as this was really popular last time I did one. Since its autumn I’ve included some autumnal clothing that I have brought recently to make this look seasonal.

This is a casual everyday look, I wore this to the cinema.

Here it is…

This top is from H & M and was Β£7.99

These blue jeans that are ripped at the knee are from Boohoo and were Β£18.

Love this combo!

This lovely black parka coat is from H & M and was only Β£29.99. It’s so comfy and warm, a really good length and it has a hood. This is great for autumn, I love it!

These greymarl pumps are only Β£4 from Primark and super comfy.

I can’t remember the exact price of this bag from Primark but it wasn’t more than Β£10.

This autumnal scarf is Β£6 from Boohoo. I am loving this πŸ‘Œ This is one of my favourite autumnal pieces.

Here’s the outfit altogether…

Nice & cosy πŸπŸ‚πŸŒΊπŸŠ

The total cost of this outfit is Β£75.98!

Hope you liked this post 😊

Until next time,

Happy 1st blogging birthday πŸŽˆ

So today marks one year since I started blogging. 8th October 2015.

I was a bit cynical about it to start off with, who cares what I write about? Why bother? But I have really enjoyed talking about important events, my hobbies & favourites in my blog.

If you follow my blog you’ll know that I started blogging to track the progress of our wedding planning and in 3 days time we’ll have been married for 4 months, it’s crazy how time flies but I’m so glad I have this blog as a memory of the process. I also like talking about things I enjoy and like!

& people do actually read my blog and ‘like’ it which is nice, I don’t do it for this reason but it’s nice all the same πŸ‘

So, why blog?

If you’ve thought about blogging but are unsure, here are a few reasons why you should!

  • It’s fun! It’s really nice just to write about a day or activity that you’ve really enjoyed or a purchase that your really happy with. You can relive the day again when you read it.
  • Confidence. I was so worried about posting my blog as I was concious of what people would think about what I write, ‘Oh my God how lame’ ‘who cares what she brought in Primark!’ Etc etc  But once you’ve written a few and people view it or follow you, you realise that actually at least you’ve got the guts to put yourself out there and it’s not what others think that matters!
  • It’s free. And you can’t really go wrong with that! I really enjoy sitting down and planning what I’m going to write about, finding the pictures I want to use and any additional information that I’ll need. It’s a hobby in itself really.
  • It makes you think about your writing & coherence. I think this is something that slips once you leave school, if you don’t do a job that involves much writing, but I think once you are writing something you know others will read you take more time and care over it.
  • It keeps you connected. Blogging is a really good way to keep in touch with people and their lives. I realised this when I was writing about the wedding planning. I know that my Auntie & some of Tim’s family who dont live close by followed the blog to see how the planning was going. It’s a nice way for them to be involved even when they are far away! And even when you see people you don’t necessarily have time to mention the little things, so it’s a great way to keep connected and up to date.

If your thinking of starting a blog don’t let anything hold you back! Go for it πŸ‘Š

Until next time,

YouTuber products πŸ–²πŸ›πŸŽ€

Here are a few products from two of my favourite YouTubers Zoella&Tanya Burr.

Tanya burr cosmetics ‘perfect brows’ kit.

This powder eyeshadow kit is great. It has four colours;

  • Fairy cake: this is a lovely highlighter to apply under the filled brown.
  • Pebble: A light beige colour to fill in the brow.
  • Chesnut: A light brown colour to fill in the brow.
  • Hot Cocoa: A dark brown colour to fill in the brow.

I use ‘Pebble’ & ‘Chesnut’ mixed together when I do my brows, this palette is great! I don’t use ‘Hot Cocoa’ as its a bit dark for me but it’s a lovely shade.

Everyday flutter lashes.

I haven’t used these yet but they look really pretty. These half lashes have a natural, eye opening effect.

I went for the ‘everyday’ lashes as I haven’t worn flash lashes before so I thought these would be good for a first try, without being too much.

I’m going to watch some of Tanya’s videos to see how to put them on best!

I bought three different products from the Zoella beauty ‘Tutti Fruity’ range. This range is being discontinued soon so I thought I would try some out of it out before that happens, plus my sister Sarah loves this range and is always raving about how nice it is.

Zoella scrubbing me softly smoothing body scrub.

280g Β£1.50

‘Buff your way to snuggly -soft skin with this fresh, fruity scrub. Enriched with Acai and blueberry this body Polish has a light, feminine fragrance to uplift and give you an instant burst of energy. With conditioning Cocoa butter -lovely scrubbly!

Zoella Candy cream softening body lotion.

160ml Β£1

‘Treat yourself to this delicious fresh, fruity cream for a soft and silky body. Packed with bursting beads and extracts of Acai and blueberry to pamper and protect because your skin needs a bit of love too!

Zoella ‘Kissy Missy’ lip balm.

Β£1

This has a lovely pink tinge to it and makes your lips feel really smooth, not tacky. The colour is lovely and good for a quick pop of colour.

& from the New Zoella lifestyle range…

The ‘Homemade treats’ reed diffuser.

Softly whipped butter xterm and gooey salted caramel drizzled over home-baked cupcakes. Bring some indulgence to youe home with this delicious scent; (almost) good enough to eat!

It smells SO good!! And the description of buttery creamy, cupcake goodness is on point. It takes a few days to diffuse fully but once it does its so yummy.

I really hope Zoella brings this scent out as a candle soon, they are perfecting it atm so fingers crossed it will be soon πŸ‘Œ

This would make an amazing candle πŸ•―

Which Zoella or Tanya Burr products do you like or Recommend?! Let me know πŸ™‚

Lush Haul πŸ›€

I’ve been waiting until I’ve had a chance to have a nice long bath before doing this blog post so that I could show you the bath bombs in action.

So here goes!

First up, the Dragon egg bath bomb.

Feel ready to soar’      Β£3.75

This is the one that I used in my bath this morning, it’s really cool.

On the outside it is white but once it goes into the water it fizzes and the centre of the Dragons egg is revealed…

This bath bomb contains lemon, jasmine and it has popping candy in too! (Don’t eat it thought πŸ˜›)

Next up is my favourite Lush bath bomb, The Comforter. ‘Berry yourself under a fruity blanket’      Β£4.95

I’ve mentioned this one before because I love it! I always pick this one up when I’m in Lush, it comes from their bubble bar slice range. It’s so lovely, berry yourself in the fruity aromas πŸ“πŸ’πŸŽπŸ‹πŸ‘

I also went for the Honey Bee. Take the sting out’      Β£3.50

This contains honey, sweet wild orange and aloe Vera. This one is quite sweet & summery.

This is the Rose Jam Bubbleroon. For a rosier mood and softer skin’       Β£3.95

It’s a Pink-tastic, glittery macaroon shaped bomb with a rose design on top.

It’s so pretty. This one contains Rose oil, coconut oil, shea butter & lemon oil.

I also picked up a seasonal bath bomb…

                            πŸŠπŸ‚πŸπŸŽƒ

This Pumpkin one is so cute and smells divine!  ‘Oh my! Pie!’     Β£3.95

I was drawn to it when I saw it as I’m loving autumnal things at the moment but when I saw it had cinnamon in it I wasn’t sure. Cinnamon is a scent I’m not really into at all but once I smelt it I changed my mind.

It’s scent is pumpkin (of course!) Sweet vanilla & cinnamon (as mentioned) I think the cinnamon is very subtle and the main smell is the sweet vanilla which I love.

And finally…

I picked up their Ocean salt face and body scrub. Scrub and soften’  I got the 120ml pot which retails at Β£8.50.

I also used this in my bath this morning. It makes your skin feel so soft & fresh.

The scrub has lashings of fine sea salt to scrub and clean, organic limes to brighten and avocado butter to soften the skin.

I love this and would definatly recommend this alongside their bath bombs for a proper pamper!

Let me know what your favorite Lush products are or any that you would recommend πŸ‘

Until next time,

Girls night πŸΉπŸΈπŸ’ƒπŸ΄

On Saturday me and the girls decided to go out for dinner & drinks! We haven’t done this in ages.

We chose the new resturant ‘Cosy Club’ in the newly refurbished Buttermarket shopping centre and it didn’t disappoint.

Now first things first, cocktails! 🍹🍸 They had some really yummy ones to choose from, I had 2 different ones..

1. Solero

Inspired by ice cream and the Spanish sun. Smirnogf vanilla vodka and passover over crushed ice with orange, fresh passionfruit  and lime juice then finished with cream. Zesty & refreshing. Β£7.50

2. Cosy Swizzle

Whisking you away to the carribbean with a blend of aged Bermudan and Dominican rums, pineapple juice, fresh passionfruit and a dash of pomegranate liqueur. Grass skirt optional. Β£7.50
These were so yummy, especially the Cosy Swizzle πŸ˜‹

The food was also AMAZING.

I went for the Mac N Cheese and it was hands down the best I have ever had πŸ‘ I added chorizo into mine for a little extra and that was so good too, I would defiantly recommend adding the chorizo unless of course your veggie.

I also got a side of beer battered onion rings, I can never resist them! These were yummy too although I had to share them as I was so full!!

For dessert I had the chocolate pot. It has raspberry coulis on top then underneath is a mix between a chocolate mousse and a ganache. It was really rich but very nice and on the side you got a melt in the mouth shortbread biscuit! Always a winner.

The decor in the resturant was really cool, lots to look at and it worked so well altogether.

I loved the carved wood panelling on the walls behind our table & the cute vintage China plates that the candles sat on.
Even the napkins were pretty ⚘

Here are some pics of us πŸ™†

We had a lovely time, we all loved our food and came out stuffed.

Next stop, more drinks. We went on to Vodka Revolution as it was still quite early so it’s a bit nicer in there to have some chilled out cocktails.

This is the cocktail that I had in Revs, ‘Fizzy Fruit Salad’. It came in this cute metal milk bottle πŸ‘Œ

After the first round of cocktails we went onto our usual drinks to get the night going, and that meant only one thing… SHOTS!

Once we had all had a little more to drink and the atmosphere (& dance floor) had picked up a bit, we had a dance πŸ’ƒ
& my lovely hubby kindly picked us up from town and drove us home 😁

It was such a fun night πŸ™„ We definatly need to do it more often.

Until next time,

Roseanne πŸ™‚

    What’s in my bag? πŸŽ’

I love watching ‘whats in my bag?’ videos on yotube so I thought I would do one for my blog.

    So, what’s in my bag?

Let’s start with the all important bag! This little black bag is from Primark and was only  Β£9. I love the faux leather material & suede material on the front. The gold detailing & clasp are really cute too.

I love that it has both long & short straps too and although it looks small it fits a lot in it.

    Let’s take a look inside…

I always carry my purse & a hairbrush where ever I go. I love this purse, sage green is one of my favourite colours  (one of our wedding colours too, ahhh β™‘) & the patterned birds are really cute. It’s nice and big so fits lots in it too!

I got this lovely big Brush from Primark for Β£1.50, bargin!

I also always have a book with me & if you’ve seen my August favourites you’ll know I’m currently reading this Nicholas Sparks book πŸ‘

I love this body mist from Zoella original beauty range. Blissful Mistful β˜† it smells gorgeous.

Sunglasses 😎 The weather hasn’t been too bad this summer so I’ve carried these in my bag ready. I love having decent prescription sunglasses, I always hated not being able to have nice ones or just not being able to see!

I would defiantly recommend this Revolution Lip amplification lip gloss as it has such good staying power. I’ve eaten and drank and it’s still in place with a good colour.

I love this shade ‘Joy’ it’s a lovely plum autumnal colour. πŸ‚πŸ

    And finally…

I popped one of these fruity bars, from Aldi in my bag incase I got peckish around town. This is blueberry and seeds flavour. It comes from their ‘Foodie market’ range and they do lots of other yummy fruit flavours to satisfy your sweet tooth.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, let me know if you did! What do you always carry in your bag?

    Until next time,

    Roseanne πŸ™‚

        August favourites πŸ€—

I’ve wanted to do a favourites post for ages but I’ve never got round to it. I might have mentioned some of these things in other posts but these are a few things that I have been loving this month.

        First up, beauty & skincare…

I have definatly mentioned these first two before and I am still loving these so much!

Maybelline brow satin in the shade ‘Medium Brown’. This is a make up staple for me now, it’s so easy to apply.

Bourjois Rough velvet edition in the shade 07 ‘Nude-ist’. This glides on really nicely and dries matte. I πŸ’Ÿ this liquid lipstick, it’s my favourite out of all of my lipsticks. πŸ’„

Revolutions New Pro Glow highlighter palette. These colours are so beautiful and shimmery. I particularly like the gold shades as I haven’t tried these in a highlighter before.

        And finally…

Niveas intensive hydration after sun moisturiser. We discovered this on our honeymoon and it was perfect to apply after being in the sun all day and for making your skin feel really fresh and rich in moisture.

I love the smell of this too as it takes me right back to our honeymoon…ahhh β›±

        Next up, fashion.

I love this t-shirt from Primark. I love the stripes and the heart patch is super cute. This was only Β£5.

I’ve been wearing my new Havaianas a lot this month! We’ve had some pretty nice weather so these have been perfect and they are super comfy.

These were only Β£21 after my 10% discount, I got them in Office.

        Let’s talk books…

I love reading and it’s one of my favourite hobbies. These two I have particularly enjoyed and they are by two of my favourite authors.

The first one I’ll talk about is ‘That girl from nowhere’ by Dorothy Koomson.

‘Clemency Smittson was adopted as a baby and the only connection she has to her birth mother is a cardboard box hand-decorated with butterflies. Now an adult, Clem moves to Brighton, where she was born, and meets someone who knows all about the butterfly box and what happened to her birth parents.’

This was one of the books I read on our honeymoon and I couldn’t put it down!

I’d also recommend her novel ‘Goodnight, beautiful’ that I read this month too.

I am currently reading ‘See me’ by Nicholas Sparks. I’m up to chapter 8 and I’m loving it already, his novels are just so easy to read.

‘Colin Hancock is giving his second chance his best shot. At 28, he’s focused on getting his teaching degree and avoiding all the places and people that proved so destructive in his past. The last thing he’s looking for is a serious relationship. But when he crosses paths with Maria Sanchez one rainswept night, his carefully structures life is turned upside down.’

        And finally, food!

A couple of food items that I’ve really been enjoying this month both come from Aldi. This is where we do our weekly shop so I just picked these up to give them a try and ended up loving them.

This fizzy drink is Raspberry and Mint flavour, it is so refreshing and tastes so fresh and yummy.

The Granola squares in the picture above ☝ are super tasty! They are ‘Crispy oats & Honey Granola bites’ little squares of oaty goodness, be careful though, they are super moreish πŸ™Š

What have you been enjoying the month? Let me know 😎

        Until next time,

        Roseanne πŸ™‚
