Banoffee Pie🍌

Hi guys 👋🏻

I hope this finds you well.

I was going to post a Biscoff baking recipe recently but I wasn’t 100% happy with it (it just means I’ll have to make it again 🤪)

So, instead I thought I would share my fail proof Banoffee recipe because it is A-mazing!

Also, it’s super easy, and always a cried pleaser (if you have to share it)

Blogmas 2019 Day Seven: Pretzel reindeer 🦌❤

Pretzel Reindeers

These are so cute!

Here’s what you’ll need…

○Pretzels

○Rolos

○Red and/or brown smarties/MMs noses

○Edible eyes

○Non stick paper

○Baking tray

Heres how you make them…

○ First lay out your pretzels onto the paper (on a baking tray)

○Split a pretzel or use pretzel sticks to create antlers and place two of these underneath each pretzel, in position.

○Place rolos in the holes of the pretzels.

○Pop them in a low heat oven to melt the rolos.

○When the rolos start to go gooey you can take them out.

○Press the rolos down to spread out the gooey chocolate caramel over the surface of the pretzel.

○When its still melted pop a nose and eyes onto the reindeer pretzels to make the face.

(Make sure the pretzel antlers are pushed into the melted choc before you pop them into the fridge, so that they dont move out of position.)

I made a few with red Rudolph noses and a few with brown noses to make his pals.

○ Pop them into the fridge to cool.

Enjoy!

These would be so fun to make with kiddies, as Christmas day treats or as cute little homemade gifts popped into a festive treat bag.

18 Days until Christmas!!

6 Slimming World Sweet treats🍴

So, if like me you LOVE snacks and having a tasty treat alongside your free/speed food on the Slimming World plan then this post is perfect for you.

I love the versatility of the plan that Slimming World offers, especially the 5-15 syns that allows for some seriously sweet, and super yummy treats.

th

Below I have listed six of my fave sweet treats, including their syn values.

Hopefully this will give you some inspiration, if like me you need help with treat ideas and low syn snacks to get you through the day.

RidLMxkyT

1. Sweet & Salty popcorn

Ranging from 2.5-6 syns

The syns depend on the brand. I love the mini packets from Tesco that are 2.5 syns & Aldi’s own brand, which are a much bigger bag, for 6 syns.

Popcorn is a great snack, healthier than others & great for the cinema!

2. Hi fi bars

Syns: 3 syns each//X2 as a HEX B

My favourite flavour of hi fi bar is salted caramel, they are A-MAZING!

These are a great snack but some are also great as a cereal bar for a quick brekky on the go.

These are only available in class.

th

3. Snack biscuits

Syns: 2.5 syns per biscuit.

These are literally one of my favourite biscuits, covered in my favourite chocolate (I used to love the Cadbury shortcake bar in the blue wrapper!! 90s throwback!!) I didn’t realise how low in syns theses are… perfect with a cuppa and they definatly sort out that choc craving.

4. Nutella B Ready bars

Syns: 6 syns.

I LOVE these, they are so crispy and delicious and FULL of Nutella!! They are a great sweet treat for all you chocoholics like me.

5. No added sugar Jelly

Syns: 0.5 syn.

These make a perfect dessert after a meal, they are really tasty, with loads of flavours available & are really low in syns. My favourite flavour is raspberry.

Make sure it’s No added sugar Jelly as the others are more synful.

6. Whitworths Shots Berry & White chocolate

Syns: 4.5 syns

These are so sweet! I love the combo of dried fruit, which is naturally super sweet, and loads of little cubes of white chocolate, sooooo good.

They are surprisingly chocolatey too.

Well worth 4.5 syns as you get alot in the pack too, more than you’d think.

These are all perfect, they hit that sweet craving and make a great addition to a snack plate at the end of an eve.

So tasty!

Who says following a meal plan means you have to eat boring food aye, because let’s be honest, we all like a snack.

I hope you’ve found this handy. If you’d like me to do a savoury version then let me know.

Any of your ideas are greatly received too, anything to fend off my v.sweet tooth.

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

My favourite Slimming World snacks!

As you may know from previous posts (or not? hello if you’re new 👋) I follow the Slimming World (SW) plan. We shop at Aldi and they do amazing snacks & treats that are great on SW so I thought I would share with you my favourites!

So here they are…

Let’s start with savoury as I have less of them:

  • Cup Shotz. This is Aldi’s version of  a mugshot and its 100% free! The chicken and sweet & sour flavours are free, not all are.

  • Aldi’s crisps are amazing! The cheese curls are 3 syns and the melts are 4 syns. They make such great snacks & are excellent value for money too.

Next up, Sweet treats:

  • Brooklea light yoghurts. These are sooo tasty and free. I only discovered these on our shop today and they are fab. I picked them up in vanilla and toffee flavour. (These are free a couple of the flavours are 0.5 syn)

  • Crispy oats & honey granola bites. These are fab with a tea or coffee, crispy, oaty and delicious.

  • Sweet and salty popcorn. This is so yummy and great as a snack or for the cinema. I love the combo of sweet and salty and this big bag is 6 syns. These are also available in multipacks and those bags are only 2.5 syns each!!

  • These groovy bars are a delicious chocolatey biscuit fix to satisfy those sweet cravings. These are 6 syns each.

So those are a few of my favourites! I hope you’ve found it useful and discovered some yummy treats that you can pick up from a local supermarket.

I thought I would quickly mention some Easter favs and their syn values, there are a few that you can enjoy on plan and to me this is amazing, diet? What diet?

  • Cadbury creme eggs, 9 syns each.
  • Cadbury mini eggs, 1 syn each.
  • Malteaser mini bunnies, 3 syns each.

Enjoy 👌 & don’t forget to treat yourself!!

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

My favourite snacks!

As you’ll know if you’ve read day blog before I do Slimming World so I thought I would share with you some of my favourite low syn snacks.

I know the ‘syns’ of things won’t apply to someone who isn’t following Slimming World but these are handy to know if you are and also if you want a snack that will keep you on track when you are trying to be good, and I know lots of people look to start the new year well.

Its all about balance at the end of the day, I know if I try and stop myself eating something I’ll only want it more.

Let’s go…

These are a low syn alternative to a full sized digestive with the same great taste. These are only 1.5 syns each instead of 4 for a normal choc digestive. I grabbed these in milk chocolate and dark chocolate form.

You can also buy individual packs of digestives in the milk and dark chocolate variety that only have two digestives in them. These are good if you want a full sized biscuit without the temptation of a full pack.

Aldi do loads of great low syn crisps but this week I’ve been loving quavers. These multi pack bags are only 4.5 syns which is fab compared to the standard bags of Walkers crisps. These multi pack bags of sweet & salty popcorn are only 2.5 syns, amazing! I’ve really got into sweet & salty popcorn at the mo so these are great to grab for a yummy snack or to take to the cinema.

These rice cake bars are also from Aldi and are only 4.5 syns. These are a great sweet treat as they are covered in orange flavoured dark chocolate, So yummy! They also come in plain chocolate too.

Something else to satisfy a chocolate craving is a good old Freddo bar. A nice little bar of Cadbury Chocolate you can quickly grab. I have to be honest, they aren’t as big as I remember but I was smaller then too! Ooh almost forgot to mention, these are 5 syns each.

These granola bites are so yummy to have with a cup of coffee and taste so sweet and oaty. Each ‘bite’ is 1 syn. These are again from Aldi.

The last few snacks I thought I’d include are the Pink N Whites marshmallow/wafer sandwiches.  These are only 2 syns each.

Kallo choco-coconut rice cakes are only 3.5 syns per pack and you get 4 mini chocolate and coconut covered rice cakes in each pack. Yes these are aimed at kids but I dont care! Why should kids get all the good treats aye!! These are also great to just grab quickly or for your packed lunch.

As you can tell I have a definite sweet tooth but these are just so good to keep you on track if your trying to be good and are super yummy too.

I hope you’ve found this handy 👍

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Blogmas day 23: Festive baking

This is so wierd, I planned to do my festive baking today at the beginning of the week and I got a notification today on Facebook telling me that day 22 of last year’s Blogmas was festive baking too, how wierd. So looks like Dec 22nd is Blogmas baking day! Although this year I have had to post it on the 23rd as I already had a post ready for today, anyway…

I did plan to do these in more than one post but the time has completely got away from me (seriously where has Blogmas gone?!?) and so I’m doing it all in one mega baking blog post.

So, what’s on the menu?

  • Mini heart mince pies
  • Chocolate orange cupcakes
  • Gingerbread men

First up, Mince pies! I made these using a Slimming World recipe, you can check that out here

    My little helper!

I went for a heart on top (less festive than a star I know) as I couldn’t find my small star cutter. These still look lovely and the hearts are quite cute.

These went down a treat in class, since these were ready and Slimming World friendly I thought I’d take them to my class that day as we were having our Christmas party. They didn’t last long at all.

    Next up, chocolate orange cupcakes!

These were made using a Mary Berry recipe, Queen of baking who else could be better!! Check out the recipe here

I have to admit that I used pre made icing as I didn’t have time (or enough bowls!!) to make this too, thanks Mrs Crocker for saving me 👍

I used the chocolate orange minis in the grab bags to pop in the middle (a yummy, gooey surprise) and to decorate on top of the cupcakes as these are a better size than the large segments of a full chocolate orange 🍊🍫 That’s just my preference but it worked really well.

This cupcake set came from TK Maxx and was only £4.99. It comes with cupcake cases of two different designs and four different Christmas cupcake toppers. I love this cute little set! It would also make a lovely gift for any baking fans.

    And finally, gingerbread men!

I’ve never made these before (& to be honest my sister did most of the prep for these ones anyway) but these are soooo good and they smelt so Christmassy.

This recipe is again from Queen Mary Bez and I found it on the BBC Good Food site (best site for cooking & baking, failsafe recipes galore!) gingerbread men recipe

These smelt amazing and taste so yummy. From this recipe they are a tasty mix of a shortbread biscuit with a yummy taste of ginger to them. If you wanted to have a stronger flavoured biscuit I’d recommend adding more ginger and the cinnamon to add that spice. I didn’t add the cinnamon to mine as I hate the stuff, yuk.

I really liked how these looked when they were done so I didn’t add any decoration to them but you could pipe on detailing or add sweets for buttons and features if you wanted to.

Noah was such a good little helper and he loved rolling out the doughs and cutting out the gingerbread men (and tasting them at the end too of course)

A fun, festive and yummy way to spend an afternoon. I can’t wait to have a cuppa at work with a gingerbread man and I’m going to serve the cupcakes at our Christmas party tommorrow!

In my beauty advent calender today…

A gorgeous red lipstick! 💋 I love how many different lipsticks you get with this advent, it’s perfect for starting a lipstick collection & since I only really had liquid lipsticks before this has been great for me. I’ve found a new love for creme lipsticks throughout December! I’ll definatly be wearing them more often now.

    Here’s a swatch…

You can’t beat a festive red!

It’s Christmas eve eve, 2 days to go! 😁

    Ho Ho Ho
