Spring Comic Con ’23 – Meeting Joseph Quinn πŸ¦‡

Hi Guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

So, something super fun happened last weekend! March 4th.

Me and my Husband went to our very first comic con. Now, don’t get me wrong, it was at times as stressful as I thought it would be… but also, not as stressful as I thought at the same time…

Let me explain – so I don’t think the where’s and when’s of your photo experiences were massively well explained. I was never explicitly told a time but thankfully someone I know worked it out for me and we arrived with plenty of time, without prior con knowledge I have no idea how you’d ever work it out… but,

Once we were there the staff were super helpful and it was relatively easy to find/ask where you needed to be and when for any experiences and photos you may have booked, so that made it alot less stressful! Everyone else who was also visiting were helpful too which was lovely.

So, anyway – our first comic con was really fun and it was exactly how I imagined it to be. There were so many people in so many costumes, epic costumes. Seriously impressive stuff. It was just a vast room filled with people geeking out, having fun and being unapologetically themselves and maybe slightly irrationally excited about celebrities 🀣 (my self included) I walked past Sylvester McCoy for christ sake!!

And best of all… I MET JOSEPH QUINN.

It was actually surprisingly nervewracking just before the photo slot but it all went well, mostly… I had to have my photo done twice as the camera flash left a glare on the photo because of my glasses… so I had to go again… I had to stand and have everyone look at me as I had a photo taken, again… which I hate… but, it meant I got to say ‘hi’ and put my arm around Joseph Quinn twice so… πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€£ I’d take that as a win tbh

Plus – I thought it was really nice that they let me go again and made sure everyone got a nice photo.

I mean, I literally said ‘hi’ x2 and ‘bye’ and ‘thanks’ to him but in those 10 seconds he seemed very lovely (as I had heard he would be) his very enthusiastic ‘HI’ and smile as you walked over was very sweet. I kind of wish I had plucked up the courage to say a bit more to him but you don’t really have much time anyway… I would probably buy a autograph next time if he goes to any nearby cons again.

The two things that struck me the most were how totally normal he looks (and I mean like in a non celebrity way, he looked great but I think it’s very easy to forget that celebs are just people and they don’t like float around on clouds, with gold sparkles around them or whatever ) and how friggin tall he is in real life- jesus.

I enjoyed having a walk around and looking at the stalls and costumes. A highlight being when I rounded a corner and saw Ghostface casually browsing a t shirt stand 🀣🀣

I got me and my sister a cool Stranger Things Poster each and then we headed over to the mainstage and queued for Joseph’s talk. It was the final event of the day and it was so packed, I’m glad we started queueing when we did.

It was so surreal seeing the set up that I have watched so many times on tik tok of his previous con ‘talks’ but it was really cool to listen to one and see him chatting in real life. To be honest, if you’ve seen one you’ve probably seen most as he gets asked alot of the same questions… but there were some really funny moments that made it worth it… and some adorable moments from a few little kids too.

All in all I really enjoyed my first comic con experience and I would definitely go to one again and be more confident and less panicked now that I know how it all works.

Have you ever been to a comic con?

Who have you met?

Hi Guys!

So this weekend me and my husband went to the Stranger Things Experience.

I bought us tickets for Tim’s birthday in July and we have really been looking forward to it since.

We decided to dress up for the experience.

I dressed as Eddie Munson…

And Tim dressed as Dustin Henderson…

The experience was really cool and really well done. It genuinely felt like we took a little trip to Hawkins, Indiana and snuck around the lab.

The actors and everyone involved were really good and very authentic – some of them were a little too good at staying in character.

Once we had finished the experience we were free to go around the merch/eating/drinks area. The themeing was really cool and very well done. They had recreated lots of iconic Stranger Things ‘Sets’ and rooms to make your experience really immersive.

There was the Surfer Boys Pizza Van, Family Video, Scoops Ahoy and they even recreated the iconic living room of the Byers house, fairy lights and all.

As well as these there were smaller themed areas and sets that were themed around Hawkins high and the Roller Rink from Season 4.

I had to do a little Eddie Munson Redemption Photo…. 86′ baby!

There was some cool merch on offer too (although not as much as I thought there would be) and a Hellfire Club themed Merch area which was amazing.

There were lots of cool photo opportunities with sets and props as well as retro photobooths.

Photo bioth snaps

It’s a brilliant experience for any Stranger Things fans and I would definitely recommend it.

The only negative I can think of is that maybe the actual experience could have been a little longer. It’s a 45 minute experience but I think an hour would make it more worth the money.

And prehaps a little more specific merch for some of the main characters like Dustin, Steve and Eddie.

I did pick up some cool bits though, Inc some Hellfire bits and a cool poster for our picture wall.

Eddie & Dustin’s Day Out
My fave!

Like I said, I would definitely recommend it, it was a really fun afternoon out.

Have you been?

Who is your favourite Stranger Things character?

Blogmas 2019 Day Fifteen: Visiting Winter Wonderland β„

I’m in London all weekend so I thought I would share all of my festive activities with you guys.

Today, after staying up in London with one of my Uni friends (See yesterdays post for what I got up to in London yesterday ~ Blogmas Day 14 we met up with another of our uni friends and went to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.

I’ve been a couple of times before but not for at least two or three years, so it was nice to get the opportunity to go again and see what’s changed and have a nice festive day out.

At Winter Wonderland it is free to get in and have a look around.

There are lots of stalls, food places, craft, hot chocolate, snacks, beer and rides to go on (at extra cost)

But, if you want to, before you go you can book onto some of their other experiences that they have on offer, such as Ice skating, a big wheel, ice bar with ice sculptures and shows such as the circus.

When I have been with friends previously we have booked onto the ice bar, some of the shows and the big wheel.

This time, as we have kiddies with us too, we thought it would be nice to just have a look around, instead of booking the big things.

It’s a lovely festive day out so it’s nice that you dont necessarily have to pay extra for all the other things, but you can if you want to.

I’m not sure whether you can book on the day, it might just depend on availability.

Let’s take a look….

Such a fun, festive day out!

Blogmas 2019 Day Fourteen: Festive FriendsFest β˜‚️

Festive Friendsfest

Today was such a fun day out with some of my work friends. We booked it a while ago but it seems to have come round so quickly!!

We went to Friendfest, the festive version in London, near Brick Lane.

I absolutely LOVE Friends and have previously been to the original Friends Fest with my sisters in Milton Keynes, in the summer.

Check that out here

I didn’t know what to expect from the festive version, maybe just a few Christmas decorations, but it didn’t disappoint.

The enchnacements and extras from the original one were really cool so it really didn’t matter that 3 of the 4 of us had been to the original Friends fest.

Let’s take a look…

Rachel & Monica’s Apartment

Chandler & Joey’s apartment

Central Perk

‘I’m the Holiday Armadillo!!’

Food

We didn’t eat at Friendsfest last time so it was good to try some bits.

They had a very festive chocolate orange hot chocolate on offer, it was amazing. It had whipped cream and mini choc orange segments on top!! So good.

We got Joey’s pizza for lunch which was super delicious (& I had the Joey special!!!) Because it was too good to just get one piece.

It was so much fun!

The festive extras were brilliant and it really got us all into the festive spirit.

Feelin’ super christmassy now.

πŸ”Ÿ years!πŸŽ‰

So, last weekend me and my Uni friends met up, but this time it wasn’t any old meet up, it was our 10 year friendaversary meet up!

Let’s take it back to the start

In 2009 I did my first year of university at the University of East London (UEL).

Whilst studying for my degree in Early Chiodhood studies (ECS) at the Stratford Campus I was introduced, at the beginning of a morning lecture, to Kirsty & Tarana and as they say, the rest is history!

And we’ve been friends ever since!

I only studied at UEL for a year before returning to my hometown to complete my studies, but we always stayed in contact and have met up at least every few of months, in London.

So, that’s the background, let’s see how we celebrate 10 years of friendship.

As I said, I went down to London last weekend to meet the girls and we had a fun day planned.

Meeting at Stratford, we headed to Leciester Square for lunch.

We always had a tradition of getting the pizza hut buffet after some of our lectures during the Uni year and so we thought this was the perfect tradition to start the day with.

It was really good!!

I havn’t had the buffet in ages πŸ•

Once we had eaten and had a catch up we headed to the main event, Matilda The Musical!!!

We wanted to do something we had done together before, as it’s a special occasion, and we all love musicals so we chose this one as it’s a brilliant story (A children’s one, very apt for ECS graduates) and none of us have seen it before either.

The musical is AMAZING!! The actors were fantastic, really talented and very funny. How those children get up on that stage and perform like that is beyond me but it is aweosme to watch.

The music ans songs by Tim Minchin are brilliant too. You’ll be singing them for days, trust me!

If you are a fan of the book or the classic film (as I am) then I would 100% recommend this to you!! It won’t disappoint.

It was getting late once we had made it out of the theatre so we said our goodbyes and headed home.

It was a really fun day out and a great way to celebrate two of the loveliest people I know.

Even though I only went to UEL for a year I will always be glad that I did. It was a great experience in halls and I met some lovely people, including these two, so I will always be grateful for that.

I hope you are enjoying the last few weeks of the Summer holidays!

Until next time,

A Harry Potter Primark Haul βš‘πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ˜

Last weekend I went on a day out to London, and what sort of day out would it be if it didn’t involve a trip to a Primark.

If you’ve followed my blog for a little while you may know that me and my twin sister LOVE Harry Potter and we have been meaning to visit the Tottenham Court Road Primark for ages so, no time like the present.

Fun at the 02!Β

So, at the weekend, (Sat 1st July) yes the 1st of July, the first day of the SEVENTH MONTH of the year! Seriously 2017, slooooww dowwn. Basically we went to the 02 for  the Star Wars: identities exhibition as my husband Tim loves Star wars and its his birthday next week.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. As someone who is only now watching the Star Wars films properly I found it really interesting and a fun experience.

There were over 100 pieces that were used in the actual Star Wars films, costumes, droids, models, to look at as well as an accompanying audio guide.

You also got given a wristband at the start and you build your own Star Wars character and shape their identity using it. You make choices about their species, home planet, job, personality etc and this creates your character for you.

Here is Tim’s:

Here is mine:

This was so much fun and I remembered alot more about the film’s than I though I would.

Tim had a great time which is the most important thing β™‘

After we had been to the exhibit we headed to get some food (also in the 02) there is such a good selection of restaurants in there to choose from and because we had been to the exhibit we got 25% off our food bill, winner!

We went to Zizzis and had a delicious Italian feast.

For starters Tim had this A-maz-ING bruschetta with creamy mozzarella, tomatoes & basil pesto πŸ‘Œ

I had one of my favourite starters, calamari (V.fitting after my character choice haha)

Tim had a classic Bolognese for his main, which was so rich and delicious. (Yup, I stole a sneaky taste, I’m not the only one who does that am I? I mean what’s mine is yours right! πŸ˜‚)

I had a delicious mushroom tortelloni dish in a creamy sauce.

We shared their new tomato, basil & mozzerella bread πŸ‘Œ

We love having days out for a birthday, I love receiving gifts people have chosen for me but there’s something lovely about having experiences and making memories too.

Definatly worth a look for all you Star Wars fans πŸ‘

Until next time,

Take That at the 02!! πŸŽΆπŸŽΆ

**Spoiler alert: This blog contains pictures of the show, if you havnt been yet avert your eyes**

Last night I went to see my favourite band ever, Take That,  perform at the 02 arena in London and it was awesome. This was my 5th time watching Take That live, in all their various combinations over the years (5 piece, 4 piece &  now as a 3 piece!) They are amazing live and they put on a FANTASTIC SHOW!! I can’t believe the first time I saw them live was 2009, 8 years ago!! So much has changed.

They are hands down the best singers/performers I’ve seen live.

Their tour this time was called Wonderland and the sets were beautiful and really brightly coloured. Its like watching a theatre show and a concert at the same time.

Their stage was positioned in the middle of the 02 this time too which was fab and you had a great view of the stage wherever you sat. I have to say the height of the 02 is terrifying, truly! Especially when you have to shuffle past people to make it to your seat and there’s no barrier!! Ahh πŸ™ˆ

They did a few songs from their new album Wonderland as well as their previous albums since their comeback, as well as the classic 90s Take That (My personal fav πŸ‘Œ)

One of my most favourite things about Take That concerts, other than how friendly everyone is, is those moments in certain songs when your all just united in enjoyment of a band that you all love, whether it’s waving your hands from side to side in unison for ‘Shine’ or clapping together for ‘Never Forget’ those moments when you and other people from all over the country (& possibly the world) are united are just brilliant. That’s something really special especially in recent times, I found this particularly poignant last night and it was a lovely feeling to once again be a part of the family of Take That fans.

So here’s to another fantastic tour, long may it continue πŸ‘ #TTforever

Who is your favourite band/singer?

Until next time,

My new camera πŸ“·

Hi guys! It’s been a little while, May seems to be slipping by rapidly!! Me & my twin sister celebrated our birthday on Friday so I thought I would share with you my main present from my lovely hubby.

It will come in super handy for my blog so I thought why not share!

So I’ve wanted a new camera for a little while and especially since me and my sister started YouTube. I don’t know a lot about cameras so I sought the advice of my bro in law who does and this is one he suggested…

It’s the Nikon Coolpix B500 bridge camera in black.

Whats a bridge camera I hear you say?

‘A bridge Camera is a general name for digital cameras that have some degree of manual control, a long range zoom lens and a viewfinder – but usually not interchangeable lenses. They are somewhere between a point and shoot camera, and a full DSLR.’ – O.Tadmor

I’m just getting to grips with it at the moment, It’s relatively easy to use once you have a fiddle about and I am loving some of the different effects you can take photos in. The quality for videos is great too!
Here are a few photos I took yesterday whilst in London. I hope you like them πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoyed this post and I’ll see you again soon for a Primark haul!

Until next time,

Winter Wonderland❄: Blogmas day 11

Yesterday we went to Winter Wonderland to enjoy the christmassy, winter goodness. We drove up to Westfield shopping centre in Stratford and took the tube to Marble Arch for the festive fun.

This was our third time going to Winter Wonderland but Noahs first so we were excited for him to see it all.

London looked so Christmassy β˜„

Me & Sarah made a detour to the Oxford Street Primark (omg so busy!) and once we had made it out we joined the group, it looked son pretty with all the little stalls & lights.

We went and found some food and I got a tradition bratwurst sausage 🌭

Once we had eaten we queued up for the big wheel.

We got some yummy Hot chocolate while we waited…

Noah loved the big wheel! He loved looking at all the lights from above.

It was lots of fun!

& the chocolate waffles afterwards were delicious πŸ˜‹

We took Noahy on some rides before going home…

He went on the penguins with mummy.
& Santa’s sleigh with me.
I would definatly recommend going as it’s lovely & a great day out to enjoy the wintry season.
