Blogmas Day Fifteen: Getting into the festive spirit 🎅🏻

So, here are my top 5 ways to well and truly get into the festive spirit!

1. Listening to Christmas tunes

Whilst I’m still at work, and there are still lots of restrictions in place for going out, this is one of the things that has made me feel the most Christmassy.

We have been listening to them lots at work and in the car.

If a Christmas sing along doesn’t get you into the festive spirit, what will!!

2. Watching a Christmas film 📽

I LOVE Christmas films for adding a bit of festive cheer into your life.

Even more so as the cinemas are closed. I miss it more than I thought.

I shared some of my faves in a earlier Blogmas post so check them out here !

Grab some popcorn, your fave festive chocs, a hot choc perhaps? And you’ve got yourself a super festive afternoon.

3. Reading a Christmas book 📚

As soon as November hits I start the festive reads and I don’t stop until February.

If you love festive books as much as me then take a look at these ones, they are some that I’ve really enjoyed.

Books are a great escape from reality and perfect for a bit of festive downtime during the Christmas chaos.

4. Christmas Day Prep 🎁

I love wrapping presents, planning Christmassy activities and of course planning the Christmas eats too.

I know that this year is going to be a bit different in terms of Christmas, but its important to make the most of the situation we are in, enjoy what we can do and not focus on what we can’t.

And hey, you might even end up with a new fun tradition thanks to 2020!

I love stocking up on a few of our favourite Christmas treats, like mince pies and slowly picking up buffet bits and bobs, from various shops depending on what they have each year.

And wrapping presents for my loved ones always makes me feel super festive 😊🎁

5. Festive baking 🥧

I really enjoy baking and festive flavours (except you cinnamon 🤢) so I always look forward to baking at this time of year, especially when you can indulge a little more, guilt free, and try all your efforts.

I’ve been looking up some yummy ideas to inspire my baking over the next week or so!

Here’s a festive recipe I’ve already tried out. They were super yummy!

Blogmas 2019 Day Seventeen: Mini Mince Pies.

Hi guys!

I thought it was time for another recipe as I’ve only done one so far this festive blogmas season.

Check that out: Pretzel Reindeer treats

Plus, the mince pie obsession has well and truly returned.

So, I thought I would have a go at making my own mini ones. These are Perfect for a little treat.

These are super easy and super quick!

What you will need:

•Jar of mince meat

•Shortcrust ready roll pastry (Chilled)•Small circle cutter•Small star cutter•Low cal spray•Baking tray•Parchment paper

Optional Extra:

Caramel

What you will need to do:

•Line your baking tray with the parchment paper.

•Pre heat your oven to 180° C

•Lay out your pastry and cut into two.

•Use half of the pastry to cut out your circle bases and half with stars for the tops.

•Place the circles into the baking tray with a little space between them.

•Spoon a generous amount of mince meat into the centre of each circle.

Optional: Top the mince meat with your extra flavouring (Terry’s choc orange segment or blob of caramel)

•Lift up the edges of the circles a little so that when they cook the mince meat doesnt all pour out.

•Top with one of your cut out pastry stars.

•Spray with your low cal spray/egg wash/milk. Anything that will give it that lovely golden brown finish.

• Pop into the oven until they are golden brown.

•Enjoy warm or cold.

The cool thing is I made these for my husband to take to work as part of his bake off competition and we won!! Whoop whoop 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Bake off winners.

So, they are definatly worth a try.

Let me know if you have a go at making these or if you make any other Christmassy treats.

Christmas traditions! The end of Blogmas.

Christmas day is finally here! The day we’ve all been waiting for, I can’t believe blogmas is now over for another year.

I thought since alot of our Christmas traditions take place on Christmas Eve that I would tell you about them today for my final blogmas post.

1. Christmas eve drive to look at Christmas lights

Every Christmas eve for the last 5 or so years me and Tim have gone on a drive to look at the Christmas lights around our home town. It’s so festive and makes me feel really christmassy because we do it every Christmas eve so you know it’s almost the big day. Mum usually comes too and this year my sister Sarah & nephew Noah joined us too.

2. Christmas eve bags

Every Christmas eve we have little bags with treats in. This year we had chocolate orange segsations, christmas socks, hot chocolate and Christmas hats.

For Noahs bag I added some chocolate straws, a Christmas craft set, Christmas colouring book & crayons.

I didn’t want to leave Casey out so I got him a little Christmas shirt and a toy reindeer. It was so cute everytime the reindeer sang he smiled and hugged it 😍

3. A Christmas film

You have to watch at least one Christmas film and this Christmas eve we went for Home Alone. It was ok, I quite enjoyed it but I wouldn’t go crazy for it like some people do. I was also having a lot of fun with  Noah so I did miss a bit of the story tbf.

4. Christmas attire Christmas jumpers, all cosy! Hats, earrings, christmas socks, anything Christmassy is perfect to get you in the spirit.

5. Treats for Santa, Christmas pjs & stockings

Santa of course needs fuel for his busy night so I left him out a mince pie & a nice cold glass of diet coke. I also left a Carrot for Rudolph. Before bed I had a nice hot shower, put on fresh Christmas pjs (& our Christmas duvet cover) and left my stocking out for Santa! All ready for him to come 🎅

I love Christmas traditions, they are always the best bits of the festive season and make it feel so magical & special.

Its the most magical time of the year!

In my beauty advent calender today…

I got a full sized eyeshadow palette. This is a really nice one and really useful for mixing and creating different looks.

I hope you’re all enjoying your Christmas day! That’s it for another Blogmas.
