Winter Wonderland❄: Blogmas day 11

Yesterday we went to Winter Wonderland to enjoy the christmassy, winter goodness. We drove up to Westfield shopping centre in Stratford and took the tube to Marble Arch for the festive fun.

This was our third time going to Winter Wonderland but Noahs first so we were excited for him to see it all.

London looked so Christmassy β˜„

Me & Sarah made a detour to the Oxford Street Primark (omg so busy!) and once we had made it out we joined the group, it looked son pretty with all the little stalls & lights.

We went and found some food and I got a tradition bratwurst sausage 🌭

Once we had eaten we queued up for the big wheel.

We got some yummy Hot chocolate while we waited…

Noah loved the big wheel! He loved looking at all the lights from above.

It was lots of fun!

& the chocolate waffles afterwards were delicious πŸ˜‹

We took Noahy on some rides before going home…

He went on the penguins with mummy.
& Santa’s sleigh with me.
I would definatly recommend going as it’s lovely & a great day out to enjoy the wintry season.

Blogmas day 10: Tanya Burr cosmetics πŸ’‹

How are we 10 days in already?!?

I recently bought some of Tanya’s Burrs make up from her latest ranges and I thought I would show you what I got.

First up,

The Midnight smoulder palette from her New autumn collection.

The colours in this palette are so beautiful.

From top left to bottom right: Star gazing, endless sky, midnight navy & into the night.

Also from her Autumn collection I grabbed one of her lipsticks. I have wanted to try these for ages and I have got a couple of the colours on my Christmas list but I really wanted her red shade ready for the Christmas party season. They are lovely creme lipsticks and the colours are amazing.

This is the red shade, ‘Big kiss’

Here’s a swatch of the lipstick, it’s a lovely darker red  and is going to look great for my work Christmas meals.

From her Soft Luxe collection I picked up one of her lip glosses that I have seen her use in a few of her videos and really liked the look of it.

This is in the shade ‘Afternoon tea’  it’s a lovely peachy pink colour.

I also picked up a lip gloss set from her New Christmas collection. I love her Christmas collection this year, it’s got some awesome pieces in it (also on my Christmas list!! Pretty please Santa πŸŽ…)  and the packaging is gorgeous too.

These lip glosses are so pretty, the pink on the left side is called ‘Berry Pavlova’ and the red one is called ‘Candy Cane’  Love that!

I love the icy blues, cute light pink lips all over the packaging & glitter detailing to look like a Christmas bow.

Here are some swatches…

These are limited edition so I had to grab them whilst they were still in stock as they won’t be available after Christmas.

My final item isn’t Tanya Burr but it’s along the same lines as it’s by her friend Zoella…

This cute make up bag is from Zoellas Tutti Fruitti range which is now being discontinued. I grabbed it for Β£2 since they’ll be gone soon and it’s such a lovely size for in your handbag.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think? What would you recommend?

(P.s I stayed at my sisters last night as we are off to Winter Wonderland today so I haven’t opened my advent calender, I will include today’s & tommorrows in Day 11 of Blogmas!)

Blogmas day 9: Christmas party food πŸΎ

Food & Christmas, two of my favorite things and they go together so well! Last year for Blogmas I did a post on yummy diy sweet treats so I thought this time round I would stick to the food theme but go for party food. This is a great time of year for parties & buffets and I love some of these ideas.

I’ve included websites & me methods for these recipes to make it super easy if you fancy giving any of these a try! & if you do give them a try let me know!! I’d love to see them.

Let’s get started,

Christmas ham

I love gammon and this adds a special touch for Christmas.

Good Food Glazed Christmas Ham recipe

Baked cheddar crackers

These would be lovely with some tasty chutney or on their own, super cheesy.

Baked cheddar crackers recipe

Cheese and grape Christmas tree

This looks really cool and is so simple to create.

1. All you need to do is to chop up at least three different cheeses into cubes and pick green and red grapes off their stems.

2. Once you’ve done this you can arrange them in layers, in the shape of a Christmas tree.

3. Pop a piece of celery at the bottom as the stem & add herbs between the layers to make it look more tree-like.

Tear & share garlic bread Christmas tree

Garlicky, delicious and great to share. This recipe is a Jamie Oliver one, give it a try πŸ‘Œ

Tear and share garlic bread

Cocktail sausages and dips

Cocktail sausages with dips, pretty self explanatory. I would personally swap plain cocktail sausages for pigs in blankets for the holiday season. Ketchup & mustard make great dips.

Spiced/seasoned nuts

These are great for a buffet or for snacking throughout the day. Nuts are quite traditional for Christmas too!

Good Food spicy/seasoned nuts

Baked camembert with bacon wrapped breadsticks.

Gooey melted cheese and crispy golden bread = heaven!

Baked camembert with bacon wrapped breadsticks recipe

Turkey & stuffing sausage rolls

These just sound amazing and would be fab as part of any buffet. Perfect to use up those leftovers too.

Great British Chefs turkey & stuffing sausage roll recipe

Caramelised cranberry relish

Super festive!

Good Food caramelised cranberry relish

Starry mince pies

This recipe is a Nigella one and they look really cute with the star on top.

Nigella Lawson Mince pie recipe

Cranberry & Lime vodka

This is a lovely festive twist on an alcoholic classic. Great for the party season.

1. Peel the rind of the lime.

2. Poke a hole in each cranberry using a fork.

3. Drop each cranberry into your empty bottle or jar. Drop pieces of lime rind alternatively throughout the layers of cranberry.

4. Add the sugar.

5. Using a funnel fill the bottle with as much vodka as you can fit.

6. Serve 🍸

Strawberry and cream Santa’s

These are super easy!

1.Cut the top (stalk end) of the strawberry off so that you have a flat bottom. Turn it upside down on to the flat surface.

2. Cut off the pointy end, fill the space with whipped cream, mixed with cream cheese & icing sugar to make it stiffer.

3. Place the pointed end of the strawberry back on top as the Santa hat, add a blob of cream for the bobble on top.

4. Pipe a little cream for buttons & eyes to add detail.

And finally,

Chocolate truffle cheesecake

I’m hoping to make this for me & Tim to have on Christmas day as our dessert as neither of us like the traditional Christmas pudding or cake. This would also make a great centrepiece at a party or a lovely addition to a buffet table.

Chocolate truffle cheesecake

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! All things foodie πŸ˜‹

Whats your favourite party or Christmas food?

Day 9 of my advent calender…

Another nude lipstick! This looks quite similar to the one that I got previously but it’s actually a much lighter shade of nude.

The nightmare before Christmas: Blogmas day 8

Last night me and my sister Sarah went to the cinema to see ‘The nightmare before Christmas’ in 3D. Neither of us have seen it before so we thought since our local Cineworld had a one off showing why not go and see what all the fuss is about! I knew the film had been out for a while but I didn’t realise it came out in 1993, blimey.

The showing was at 8.15 so we grabbed our popcorn and headed to our seats.

I quite enjoyed the film, having never seen it, it was like watching a new film (even though it’s been out for years) you can definatly tell it’s by Tim Burton as it’s got a bit of a wierd edge to it.

The songs are very catchy (I never realised quite how musically orientated it is) I’m going to be singing ‘This is Halloween’ & ‘Whats this?!’ in my head tomorrow haha. I would probably give the film:

It’s cool that the film is a mixture of both Halloween and Christmas as I like both of these holidays. It’s not really over the top christmassy but still cool to watch this time of year anyway. It makes you think about the complete contrast that these two holidays are. πŸŽ„ Vs πŸŽƒ

I think I will do another Blogmas post on a Christmas film that I haven’t seen before, Home alone. This is much to the disgust of a lot of people (my sister especially) So I think I’ll try and find a time to watch that this festive month and see what all the fuss is about!!

In day 8 of my advent calender…

I got this lovely sheer lip gloss. It’s in a beautiful peachy pink colour & as I have loads of liquid lipsticks but only 1 or 2 lip glosses this is fab! I’m going to wear it today as it has a lovely colour & shine to it that’s nice even to wear on its own (I can’t be bothered with full make up today!)
Any Christmas film recommendations?

Day 7 of my advent calendar for Blogmas πŸŽ„

For day 7 of Blogmas I’m going to show you what I got today in my beauty advent and how it looks on.

I’ve used a few of the products from my calendar for my make up today so I thought it would be a good opportunity to show you.

So what did I get today…

This lovely browny toned blusher. This is really lovely & once again a shade of blusher I dont have! I usually go for pinky blushers so this is great.

It’s got a lovely light shimmer running through it and I just think it’s really cool because it looks a bit like a planet 😁

To apply this I used my face make up brush that I got yesterday in my advent calendar…

These brushes are really cute with the ombre bristles & rose gold detail.

Some other products I used are:

  • Body shop BB cream shade 2
  • Collection lasting perfection concealor shade ‘Cool medium’
  • Bourjois Radiance reveal concealor shade ‘Ivory’
  • Revolution strobing balm (also from my beauty advent see Blogmas day 4 )
  • Mac matte lipstick in shade ‘Whirl’ (my sister might recognise this hehe)

I love this blusher/lipstick combo & the strobing balm is awesome. I used it dry and the colour & highlight is awesome 🌟

What beauty advent calendars have you guys got?  What’s your favourite product that you’ve got so far?

Diy Christmas cards: Blogmas day 5

Today I thought I would show you my diy christmas cards so a word of warning to family & Friends, if you’re reading this your card may be similar to the ones featured haha.

I’ve been making cards for about 6/7 years now but I’ve had a little hiatus since making all our wedding invites! I thought Christmas was the perfect time to get back into it and I’ve really been enjoying making them again.

I popped into hobbycraft to get myself some new bits & pieces to make these with. I had all the basics and a couple of bits but I wanted to get some new things for this year.

I chose both red & green cards to make some traditional style ones as well as white ones too in order to go for a cool icy theme on some.

I chose holly, christmas tree, reindeer & polar bear embellishments and gold & silver writing that says Happy/Merry Christmas. I also got stickers to personalise some for different family members.

I also got these cute little ‘Handmade with love’stickers to add to the back of my cards to add a nice finishing touch.

Here are a few of the designs I have finished so far…

I hope you like my cards & designs!

Has this inspired you to get making?

In my beauty advent calender today…

Today I got another lipstick! Perfect for me as I just love them. This is a gorgeous bright pink colour. This would be great with a pinky make up look or to add a pop of colour. I don’t have a lipstick in this shade so again this will be a great addition to my make up collection.

Here it is on! I can’t wait to wear this, I love this shade 🌸

              Ho Ho Ho

              Roseanne πŸŽ…

Rockin around the Christmas tree πŸŽ„Blogmas day 4

For day 4 of Blogmas I thought that I would show you my Christmas decorations in our flat & our tree.

I know not everyone will agree with this but I put my tree and decorations  up on November 25th, ready for just over a month of festive cheer.

              First up, the tree πŸŽ„

Yes we have a fake tree but this malts enough as it is, I don’t know people cope with a real tree with pines!!!

We have yellow Fairy lights on our tree with a red, gold & green theme for the decorations. Red & gold tinsel and red, gold & green baubles with other assorted decos and a red star for on top of the tree.

I always put the lights on first, followed by the bead string & tinsel, then the baubles, decorations & the star goes kn top last.

Our personalised Christmas sacks go next to the tree ready to be filled 🎁

              i do love Christmas so I don’t stop with a decorated tree…

The lounge has been nicknamed ‘The grotto’ by Tim around this time of year because I am a bit OTT but I love it!

              Lovely & festive 🌟

I love coming home and relaxing with the Christmas lights on, getting all cosy. All the lights look awesome at night time too, sometimes I just put them on instead of the main lights

DAY 4 of my beauty advent calender…

Today I got the Revolution strobing balm.

This one looks like shade ‘Hypnotic’. This is an illuminating balm for a neutral looking highlight to help sculpt the face.

It is a creme formula and apparently you can use this wet or dry depending on the intensity that you are going for.

I used the balm that I got in my calender yesterday as a primer and my make up did look really good all day while we were busy in London shopping, rushing around so this will be a nice little addition to my collection maybe saving it for a night out as I don’t worry too much when I’m just at work.

What’s your favourite Christmas decoration? lights? tinsel? Wreaths?

              Ho Ho Ho

              Roseanne πŸŽ…

Blogmas day 2: Beauty advent calenderΒ

Day 2 is here! As I said yesterday this is all about my Beauty advent calender.

This is my first year of having a beauty advent calender and I’m loving it so far.

My husband kindly bought me this from Superdrug & it cost Β£40. I did feel a bit bad as it is now reduced to Β£25!

This one is really cool as it is 25 days and has full sized products in.

So what’s behind window no 2?

…a foundation Brush. I haven’t used a Revolution make up brush before so I’m looking forward to trying it out.

What beauty advent calenders have you guys got this year? 🌟

              Ho Ho Ho

The husband & wife Christmas Tag! Blogmas day 3

For day 3 of Blogmas I thought I would do the Christmas tag! To make it a bit different I thought I would answer the questions but also get my husband Tim involved and get him to answer them too.

This picture is from our first Christmas together in our flat back in 2014 β™‘

               So here goes…
              1. What is your favourite Christmas film?

Tim: I don’t like Christmas films. (Wtf seriously)

Me: The Snowman! We used to sit and watch this on the TV on Christmas Eve every year after dinner as a family. It always makes me feel like a kid again & super christmassy because if it’s on Christmas is only a day away.

              2. Have you ever had a white Christmas?

Tim: No, but it’s snowed around Christmas.

Me: Nope (sadface) but it has been snowy around Christmas and in December.

This picture came up on Facebook today as a reminder from over 5 years ago (2010 😱) When I lived at home…

The view from my old bedroom window on 3rd Dec 2010. We definatly had snow in Feb the year after but nothing major since then I think.

              3. Where do you usually spend Christmas?

              Tim: Dads house

Me: Now that we’ve moved out we usually go to my mum & dads in the morning, then off to tims dads for Christmas dinner & back to my families with my sisters & nephews in the evening.

              4. What is your favourite Christmas song?

              Tim: Coldplay Christmas lights.

              Me: Wham! Last Christmas

              5. Do you open any of your presents on Christmas Eve?

Tim: No unless you count the package that you do. (Yes we count that πŸ‘)

Me: Christmas eve boxes have become a tradition for me, Tim, my sister, her husband (if he’s not at work) and my nephew Noah for the last few years. This will be Caseys first Christmas eve πŸ’™ We usually have cosy pj’s, a Christmas film, snacks & hot choc in these boxes.

              6. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Tim: Dasher, Rudolph, Prancer then I’m stuck.

Me: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Cupid, Comet, Donner, Blitzen & Rudolph! (Think that’s all of them)

              7. Which Christmas tradition are you most looking forward to this year?

              Tim: Food!

Me: I love everything about Christmas, I enjoy looking at the Christmas lights around my home town on Christmas Eve & I love putting my decorations up with Christmas songs blaring!

              8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

              Both: Fake

              9. What is your all time favorite Christmas food/sweet treat?

              Tim: Urm, pigs in blankets.

Me: Christmas Dinner, BEST meal of the year.

              10. Be honest: do you prefer giving or receiving gifts?

              Tim: I like giving presents.

Me: 100% love giving presents, as a child probably not so much and don’t get me wrong it’s nice to receive things that you’d otherwise have to pay for yourself but I am so excited to give people the things I’ve taken time to find that I know they will love, that’s the best!!

              11. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

Tim: I don’t know, that’s impossible! when I was little my dad got me a remote controllered boat, that was cool, I liked that!

Me: ooh that’s tricky hmm I’m not sure I could pin point one particular gift to be honest. Christmas 2013 & 2015 were both special because I found out just before that I was going to be an Auntie πŸ’™πŸ’™

              12. Where would your dream place to visit at Christmas be?

Tim: Switzerland or Bulgaria? Somewhere skiing, Canada?

Me: The Harry Potter Studio tour. Yes I’ve been  loads of times but I’m yet to make it at Christmas time & Hogwarts in the snow would be bloody magical.

              13. Are you a pro-present wrapper or do you fail miserably?

Tim: No I’m not a pro present wrapper.

Me; I’m definatly the Christmas wrapper in our house! I love doing it a few days before Christmas to make me feel super festive & excited.

              14. Most memorable Christmas moment?

Tim: Simon (Tim’s brother) destroying my fire engine. Bloody b*****d.

Me: haha this isn’t going to sound funny to anyone else but my sister Sarah, two words ‘chocolate milk’ … one year when we both still lived at home we woke up about 6am so we decided to watch the outtakes of one of our favourite films ‘Back to the future’, for some reason we absolutely pissed ourselves laughing 😁 I dont know why we f0und them that funny but I think we woke our parents up with our laughing πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

              15. What made you realise the truth about Santa?

Tim: Probably school, I can’t remember.

Me: I don’t know what your talking about, the truth about Santa? that he brings presents & Christmas joy? I’ve known that truth my whole life πŸŽ… BELIEVE.

              16. Do you make New Years resolutions and do you stick to them?

Tim: No, I just think that if I’ve got a goal I’ll set it during the year not wait until the end, that’s just asking to fail.

Me: I do, the same one since I was about 13 years old..

As you can see I haven’t made much progress #selfconfessednailbiter

              17. Favourite Christmas memory?

              Tim: Getting new games, super!

Me: Christmas’s at my Nanas house! We always did the same every year, woke up, opened stockings & presents at home, chilled out then went to nanas to open more pressies, have a yummy lunch watch Christmas TV and then in the evening we would have a little goody bag to open & a Christmas buffet tea! They were the best times.

              18. Who is the easiest person to buy for at Christmas?

Tim: I don’t find anyone easy to buy for.

Me: Definatly my twin sister Sarah. Tim is quite easy but not quite as easy as Sarah.

              19. What is your Christmas day breakfast?

Tim: I don’t have breakfast it makes me too full. I don’t like big breakfasts cause then I can’t eat lunch!

Me: A croissant. This is 100% a token breakfast to make the eating of chocolate swiftly afterwards acceptable.

              20. Sum Christmas up in 4 words…

              Tim: Lots of good food.

              Me: Family, Festive, Fun, Food.

I hope you enjoyed the Christmas tag!
