My Tanya Burr advent calendar: Blogmas day 6 πŸ””

Hi guys!

Today is day 6 of Blogmas (already!!!) Only 19 days to go until Christmas day.

Here is what’s behind window number five of my Tanya Burr beauty advent calender…

A lovely glittery and super sparkly nail varnish.

This polish is called ‘Glitter rain’ and is a lovely silver glitter.

The glitter is great as it adds a festive, party sparkle to your nails (great for those Christmas parties) But is a bit different from the usual gold glitter.

Great for creating a festive, frosty look! ❄

The glitter is fine with larger bits of glitter too which is great on it’s own for a simple touch of sparkle but its also great over other colours or to add a accent nail.

I hope you enjoyed this little peek into my advent calender.

Who else is loving having a little choc in the morning btw!?! LOVE IT.

Until next time,

My Tanya Burr advent calendar: Blogmas day 4 πŸŽ„

Hi guys!

Day four of Blogmas is here! and today is another look inside my Tanya Burr ‘Tanya’s treats’ advent calendar.

I have combined two windows today in order to make sure that I open them in Blogmas and you guys can see what I’ve got. Basically I couldn’t wait to open it so I opened one on the first and if I do it every other day the last window would be opened on Christmas day, one day too late!

So, lets take a look inside…

So, behind window number two of my advent calendar was a lovely lipgloss.

The lipgloss is a lovely red colour with a berry tone to it. Its called ‘Cranberry melt’.

I don’t usually wear lipgloss but I’m definatly going to be trying this out over the festive period as its a great colour for the season. The gloss glides on really nicely, the colour is nice and bright but not too in your face and it isn’t really uncomfortable and sticky on your lips.

Very wearable for everyday or great for a Christmas party look!

Behind window number three of my advent calendar was a super sparkly eye liner.

The eyeliner is gold and glittery, great for adding a sparkle to the eyes. For a eyeliner novice such as myself this was very easy to apply.

21 days to go!

Until next time,

Roseanne πŸ™‚

Tanya’s Christmas: Get inspired! Blogmas day 3 πŸŽ„

Hi guys!

To get prepared this Christmas I picked up Tanya Burr’s new book ‘Tanya’s Christmas’ Its full of recipes, gifting, gift wrapping, party, make up and just general christmas prep ideas to get those festive juices flowing.

I love this book, its so lovely to look through and so handy at this hectic time of year. Its an ultimate Christmas guide and its made me feel really festive and EXCITED for December and the big day in particular.

Tanya is one of my favourite Youtubers so I was really pleased when she released this book. I have chosen some of my favourite pieces from the book to share with you guys. Alot of them are baking ideas that I want to make in the lead up to Christmas and for Christmas day.

I hope you enjoy this little insight into the book, and who knows it might give you some Christmassy ideas too.

Lets take a look!

Make!

IMG_20171126_132026_080

I love the idea of making your own decorations and this arrangement by Tanya is so simple, yet so effective!

Its using natural resources such as dried oranges (beaut smell!!) pine cones and cinnamon sticks. A lovely fragrant display that you can arrange any way that you wish. I would probably swap out the cinnamon sticks as I’m not a fan of this scent, the beauty of this simple idea is that you can put your own twist on it and make it to match your theme. I like the idea of using pine branches and holly, as well as gold sprayed pine cones.

Bake!

Lets be frank, food is one of the best parts of Christmas so, I have picked out a few of the recipes in the book.

The first couple of recipes are ones that I want to make in the lead up to Christmas.

On the left is a tear and share Chocolate orange cookie. Chocolate orange is my ultimate fave and I love a Terry’s chocolate orange at Christmas, so instantly I was drawn to this. I will be making this in the lead up to Christmas because its going to be delicious and baking always gets me in a warm and cosy mood.

In the middle picture are rice crispy Christmas puddings. I want to have a go at making these with my Nephew Noah as I think these will be really fun to make together (& I’m sure his little bro Casey will help us taste test them along the way)

On the right are Smores biscuits. I want to make these for me, my husband, sister, brother in law and nephews to enjoy on Christmas eve! Super cosy.

IMG_20171126_132106_284

I’ve also chosen the ‘Chocolate brownie traybake with salted caramel ice cream’ to make for mine and Tim’s Christmas dinner dessert. Neither of us like the traditional Christmas pud so I always make us something chocolatey and indulgent and this is perfect.

Celebrate!

I love the section in the book with her Christmas traditions as well as Tanya’s viewers traditions too. These are really interesting to read, its cool to see how people spend their day and how their traditions differ from country to country.

This section is also great for those of you who want to add some new traditions to your Christmas routine and need some inspiration!

Some of our Christmas traditions include:

  • Christmas Lights
  • Christmas eve boxes
  • Stockings
  • Panto
  • Family word and board games

I won’t go into these too much as I have a post in the pipeline that focuses on these a bit more. I love traditions and they are very important to me, especially at this time of the year when I think it is really important to spend time with your loved ones and enjoy the simple pleasures and comfort that traditions can bring.

For those of you who love Christmas like I do, you will really enjoy this beautiful book. I grabbed mine from Amazon and I’ll leave the link below for you!

The start of advent! πŸŽ„ Blogmas Day 2

Hi guys!

Its day two of Blogmas and its an advent update. I have two advent calenders this year, a chocolate one (Cadburys of course!)

…and a beauty advent, Tanya Burr’s ‘Tanya’s treats’ beauty calendar.

Tanya’s beauty advent calendar is 12 days of Christmas so every other day my Blogmas post will focus on what I have got inside the calendar.

20171201_073230I love having a beauty advent and I wasn’t able to get my hands on Tanya’s last year so I was really pleased to get one, I love her beauty range.

The calendar is really nice, I love the rose gold and shiny burgundy colour scheme and cute sweet shop scene.

Lets take a look at day one!

Behind window number one was a lovely red nail polish. I love the packaging of her nail varnishes, the large gold top and gold writing look really sleek.

The colour is ‘Festive Red’ and is a beautiful and bold Christmas red. This is perfect for the festive season.

I cant wait to open the next door on Sunday!

Blogiversary no2 πŸŽ‰

So Sunday (the 8th October) marked two years since I started my blog, TWO!! Where has that time gone?!?
As most of you who have followed my blog from the beginning will know I started my blog to document our wedding planning, wahhhh it seems so long ago now!! (if your new, Hey! πŸ‘‹πŸΌ)

I never thought I would be someone who wrote a blog, I thought it was something other people did, ‘cool’ people (whatever cool is these days)

My twin sister Sarah had her blog and she really enjoyed it, I was sceptical but I gave it a go and it turned out to be a hobby I would come to really enjoy. I love that I can look back at moments in my life, recipes I’ve made, shopping sprees I’ve been on and just the things that I’ve been loving over the years, many of which I might have forgotten if it wasnt for them being documented in my own little space.

I’m especially pleased that I documented our wedding planning, as anyone who has got married will know, it all goes very quickly so I will always have that to look back on and remind me of that v.stressful, but fun process, the decisions we made that got us to that special day and just little things that I may not remember forever but will make me smile when I read them back.

A blog has such potential, so if your thinking of doing it, do! Just go for it. Don’t be afraid of what others will think of your writing, it’s yours to make of it what you wish and you’ll never please everyone (Why would you want to anyway, some people are d**ks) + It’s good fun πŸ‘πŸ»

Here’s to many more years here at Roseanne’s s Blog!

Fun at the 02!Β

So, at the weekend, (Sat 1st July) yes the 1st of July, the first day of the SEVENTH MONTH of the year! Seriously 2017, slooooww dowwn. Basically we went to the 02 for  the Star Wars: identities exhibition as my husband Tim loves Star wars and its his birthday next week.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. As someone who is only now watching the Star Wars films properly I found it really interesting and a fun experience.

There were over 100 pieces that were used in the actual Star Wars films, costumes, droids, models, to look at as well as an accompanying audio guide.

You also got given a wristband at the start and you build your own Star Wars character and shape their identity using it. You make choices about their species, home planet, job, personality etc and this creates your character for you.

Here is Tim’s:

Here is mine:

This was so much fun and I remembered alot more about the film’s than I though I would.

Tim had a great time which is the most important thing β™‘

After we had been to the exhibit we headed to get some food (also in the 02) there is such a good selection of restaurants in there to choose from and because we had been to the exhibit we got 25% off our food bill, winner!

We went to Zizzis and had a delicious Italian feast.

For starters Tim had this A-maz-ING bruschetta with creamy mozzarella, tomatoes & basil pesto πŸ‘Œ

I had one of my favourite starters, calamari (V.fitting after my character choice haha)

Tim had a classic Bolognese for his main, which was so rich and delicious. (Yup, I stole a sneaky taste, I’m not the only one who does that am I? I mean what’s mine is yours right! πŸ˜‚)

I had a delicious mushroom tortelloni dish in a creamy sauce.

We shared their new tomato, basil & mozzerella bread πŸ‘Œ

We love having days out for a birthday, I love receiving gifts people have chosen for me but there’s something lovely about having experiences and making memories too.

Definatly worth a look for all you Star Wars fans πŸ‘

Until next time,

Primark haulΒ

As promised here’s another Primark haul! Me and my sister went to the Primark on Oxford Street when we were in London recently and although we only had 15 minutes max we managed to grab an impressive amount between us!!

Im not sure it’s necessarily something to be proud of but I got some nice bits so I’m happy none the less haha #selfconfessedprimarkaddict

So let’s have a look at what I picked up!

Swimsuit Β£4

I love this swimsuit, it’s a lovely mint green colour with cute little pink flamingos all over it, adorable. I don’t need a new swimsuit but I am loving the tropical inspired prints of this season and for Β£4 you can’t go wrong!!

Plain black pumps Β£4

Although not overly exciting, I picked up two pairs of these plain black pumps for work. They are super comfy and again only Β£4 each.

Black Van style shoes Β£6

I was so tempted to ask for a pair of Vans for my birthday but I changed my mind at the last minute (hella expensive!!) and I’m glad I did!

I saw these in Primark literally the next day for Β£6 and you cannot tell the difference, in fact other than the enormous price difference the only thing they don’t have is a red vans tag on them.

Black pumps with gold detail Β£8

These were also bought for work and are a bit prettier than the others, however the size 6 in these doesn’t fit me even though the other black pumps are a 6, sadface.     So I will be having to return these, it’s such a shame as I love the gold detailing and tassels.

Dusky pink slip on mules Β£8
How pretty are these mules?! 🏡😍 my sister was on the hunt for these in the Oxford street Primark and when I saw them I had to grab a pair too!! They are a faux velvet material with a pretty pink bow on the front. They are super comfy as they are slip one and the colour is one of my favourites, plus only Β£8!!

Embroidered shirt Β£12

I am IN LOVE with this shirt. It’s beautiful. I love the trend of embroidery for casual clothes or on something more dressy so I instantly fell in love with this shirt when I saw it, Spring/Summer perfect πŸ‘Œ It’s a longer shirt which I like and the slight splits up either side make it really flattering with skinny black trousers for work or skinny jeans for a more causal look.

Les rose’ t shirt Β£6

This is a lovely causal tee with pretty rose gold/copper writing on the front, love it! The material is soooo soft too.

Dip dye t shirt Β£5

Coral is such a pretty summer colour so this really stood out to me when I was looking in the t shirt section. It’s an ombre effect from the coral to white and is slightly longer than a usual tee. I can’t wait to pair this with skinny jeans, 3/4 lengths or maybe even shorts (dare to dream!!)

Stripey t shirt with embroidered rose Β£6

Yep, your seeing right! Another stripey tee πŸ™ˆ But a girl can never have too many (Am I right!!) This one is a bit longer than a cropped tee but it is still quite short, it would work as a cropped top or if you’re like me and couldn’t think of anything worse grab those high waisted jeans/shorts/trousers and rock it with those instead.  I love the embroidered rose on it too πŸ₯€

Polka dot Sheer fashion socks Β£2

Tanya Burr recently wore some Vans with little socks like these and I loved the look so I grabbed these two pairs for Β£2. These have got cute polka dots on them.

Fishnet tights Β£3

These may seem an odd purchase but allow me to explain. As I said with my previous picture I took inspiration from a look Tanya Burr recently wore, but I couldn’t find the fishnet fashion socks in any of the Primarks I went in (even Oxford street!!) So, the next best thing was the tights because I figured under ripped jeans these would still be pretty cool as you can see the tights through the rips too.

Not everyones cup of tea i know but I  really liked this look.

So, those were my purchases! I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know what bits you’ve picked up in good old Primark recently too πŸ‘

Until next time,

Roseanne πŸ™‚
