Easter Weekend 2020 ๐Ÿฃ

I hope you had a nice weekend, it probably wasn’t the weekend we all planned or thought it would be.

So, we actually have a few traditions that we usually do at Easter but obviously this years a bit different (for now)

But, lets not dwell on what would have/should have been… So, what did we do to make the Easter weekend fun and what traditions did we manage to uphold in lockdown?!

Board games are a must!

We opted for LOTR Monopoly as we haven’t played it for a while and Monopoly is the Queen of board games, so it’s the perfect choice.

Plus, this one is great as you move the one ring along so you can either play a manageable length game or go the long haul.

We also got together on Good Friday night (on Skype) as we have been since this began, to do our weekly quiz night so that was good to get together that way.

We also made the good old Easter tradition that is chocolate crispy cakes.

We made individual ones using shredded wheat, chocolate and Terry’s choc oranges mini eggs.

The large one was cornflakes, chocolate, cut up Creme eggs & lots of sprinkles.

Delicious!

Easter Sunday Breakfast ๐Ÿฝ

As a family, on Easter Sunday we usually get together, exchange Easter eggs, do craft with the kids and have a chinese takeaway for dinner (I know, traditional Easter food ๐Ÿ˜‚ but that’s just what we do, my Nana started it!)

It was nice to play games together, just me and Tim, watch some TV and have a few treats. (Well, quite a few treats but it’s one weekend aye!)

Plus, I had a nice video/call from my niece and nephews so that was lovely as I am missing them alot and I love to spoil them on special occasions like this. But, most of all I just love to give them a big hug and have some fun with them!

Let’s hope we’ll all be together again soon!

How did you get through the isolation Easter weekend?

Until next time,

Blogmas 2019 Day Two: My reading challenge, the December edition ๐Ÿ“š

We’ve made it to the final month of my reading challenge! I’m honestly surprised I managed to keep this up all year but also very pleased.

I will do a little round up in Jan of everything that I have read this year and perhaps introduce a new challenge for 2020.

Firstly, I will share with you what I read in November…

  • A Christmas gift by Sue Moorcroft
  • T’was the Nightshift before Christmas by Adam Kay
  • A wedding in December by Sarah Morgan

I thoroughly enjoyed all of these books and they have definitely got me into the festive spirit

So, without further ado, for the last time in 2019, here are my reading picks for this month…

The Christmas Wishlist by Heidi Swain

After being let go from her job in a swanky hotel just weeks before Christmas, Hattie is feeling lost. Even more so when her high-flying boyfriend announces heโ€™s landed his dream job in Abu Dhabi and asks her to move with him. Luckily, Hattieโ€™s long-time friend Dolly is on hand to help and invites Hattie to spend one last holiday in the small, festive town of Wynbridge, determined to give her a Christmas to remember . . .
Upon Hattieโ€™s arrival, holiday preparations are in full swing. But for Hattie, whose Christmas cheer has long since run out, itโ€™ll take more than mince pies and mistletoe to open her heart to the season once more. Relishing the task of reigniting Hattieโ€™s Christmas spirit, Dolly suggests they create a wish list of all the things the season can offer, and with the helpful hands of Wynbridgeโ€™s resident handyman, Beamish, Hattie finds her frosty exterior is starting to thaw.
As Wynbridge prepares for its most spectacular Christmas yet, will Hattie leave snowy England behind for life in a sunnier clime, or will she in fact realise that her heartโ€™s desire lies much closer to home?

The Christmas Stocking and Other Stories by Katie Fforde

THE CHRISTMAS STOCKING: Romy is all set to join her boyfriend and his family in France for Christmas, though truth be told she isnโ€™t looking forward to it very much. And then she meets Felix โ€“ and her plans for the big day suddenly become a lot more interesting.

CANDLELIGHT AT CHRISTMAS: It was meant to be the perfect Christmas โ€“ surrounded by friends and family in their beautiful home in the country. But then the lights go out, and Fenella knows she will have to work very hard to keep everyone happy โ€ฆ

THE CHRISTMAS FAIRY: Itโ€™s Christmas Eve in Crinan, and a young man is on his own with only his nephew and niece for company. Then Ella arrives. Dressed as a fairy, she is determined to wave her wand and give them all the best Christmas ever.
And many more!

23 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS ๐ŸŽ„

Half term diaries part 2

Part two of February Half term!

Here’s what I’ve been up to.

Wednesday 20th February/Thursday 21st February 2019

During both of these days I was at work allday 7.30-6.

Working with kids is good fun though and we did lots of fun activities.

I really enjoy planning fun activities to do during the holidays.

Friday 23rd February 2019

In the morning I met up with my twin sister and my nephews for some bowling fun.

Both of the boys really enjoyed themselves as Noah only had a go at bowling when he was very little and Casey has never been before.

The boys had a great time and they were really good at bowling, it’s safe to say Auntie Ro Ro lost ๐ŸŽณ

Afterwards we had some lunch and some treats (of course!) DOUGHNUTS!!

In the afternoon we headed to Norwich to stay with my Auntie and cousin for a long weekend.

We popped into the Norwich Primark en-route, in order to see if they had the onesie of my dreams…

…they didn’t disappoint!! & it was the only one left ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Once at my Aunties, we settled down for a delicious Mexican taco feast.

Saturday 23rd February 2019

Today me & Tim started off the day with a Parkrun in a nearby village.

Once we got back we spent the rest of the morning/afternoon chilling out, having lunch and playing games.

The Pointless Mini game was a particular fave.

In the late afternoon we went and saw my cousin, his wife and kiddies for a catchup up and a cuppa, which was nice!

We rounded off the evening with a delicous meal out together at Zizzi’s.

We played a few more games when we got back too. Love a board game!

Sunday 24th February 2019

Today we went out l to enjoy the lovely sunshiny weather, you’ve got to make the most of it when you get it here in the UK!!

We stopped off for a yummy snacky lunch at a lovely pub in Ranworth.

We shared some stuffed peppers, Cheesey chips, homemade houmous, falafel & flatbread and some onion rings, yummy!

After that we went for a little walk along the river. It was so pretty and just lovely in the early Spring sunshine.

A great weekend rounded off with a scrummy roast beef dinner and baked Apple dessert, when we got home.

It’s been a great half term!!

Until next time,

Roseanne ๐Ÿ™‚
