February Highlights ✨️

Hi guys 👋🏻

Well, that month flew by, didn’t it!

Here are my February highlights…

We started back doing our Parkruns this month! Happy with my time of 34.01 – here’s to getting back to it again 👟

Me and my twin sister Sarah organised our bestfriends baby shower. It went really well and everyone had a great time! Lots of delicious food, fun games, presents and laughs 👶

Pancake day! One of the best days in Feb 🥞 I managed to have two pancake meals, haha.

We celebrated Valentines Day this year with our traditional meal to a local Turkish restaurant. It was delicious as always.

As you may have see from my previous holiblog post, we went to Northern Italy for the Feb half term. It was brilliant. We did Verona, Lake Garda, Milan & Venice (again!)

We had a brilliant time, there was so much to see and it was beautiful. We were also mostly, pretty lucky with the weather.

Another great Italy adventure

🇮🇹

What’s been your February Highlight?

✨️

Here’s to a good March!

🌈

Until Next Time,

Holiblog: Summer 2021 pt 2

Part 2… its very late but ah well.

So, as I said, I thought I would start up the ‘Holiblog’ series for the Summer… turns out I didn’t do a very good job… because here we are, quite a few days into Autumn and I haven’t posted a Part Two: August…

So here is that part… not because anyone cares but because we did alot of fun stuff in August and it deserves its own part too.

Let’s take a look!

The final Youth Club Farewell 😥

The Youth Club that I went to as a teen and have volunteered at for over ten years is closing. It is really sad and the end of an era! The leaders who used to look after us are now our friends and we had some great times that we will treasure fondly.

We celebrated our oldest friends (who we’ve known the longest, since we were 3!!) 30th Birthday.

We had some nibbles, drinks and a noce catch up.

𝕊𝕦𝕟𝕕𝕒𝕪 𝟠𝕥𝕙 – 𝟙𝟙𝕥𝕙 𝔸𝕦𝕘𝕦𝕤𝕥 𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟙

This was our Summer holiday this year and because of COVID we thought we would keep it local.

We went camping (for the first time!!) Staying at Waveney River Centre in Norfolk. It was nice and relaxing and a bit different. We had some nice meals, played games, went on walks in the sunshine, swam and met up with my Auntie and Cousin.

𝕊𝕒𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕕𝕒𝕪 𝟙𝟜𝕥𝕙 𝔸𝕦𝕘𝕦𝕤𝕥 𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟙

Me & my twin sister had organised our bestfriends Hen and finally (thanks COVID!!) it happened.

And it was SO much fun! We started with an Escape Room, followed by lunch, an amazing, hilarious, tipsy Cocktail Masterclass, Dinner and more cocktails 🥂

𝕊𝕦𝕟𝕕𝕒𝕪 𝟙𝟝𝕥𝕙 𝔸𝕦𝕘𝕦𝕤𝕥 𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟙

We started off with fun at ‘YaYas House’ a stay and play play centre, which would of 100% been my dream as a child, with its themed rooms.

The boys came over for a sleepover – its so good to be able to do them again.

Holiblog: The Rome Edition

For my husband Tim’s 28th birthday I bought us a trip to Rome. As you may know from previous blogs, Italy is our favourite country and Tim’s favourite Italian city that we’ve visited is Rome, it’s been 7 years since our first visit.

Read on to see what we got up to!

Day One

It was a early start for us to begin our Rome adventure, from Gatwick!

This meant we had a whole day to start exploring.

But, first lunch! And an ice cream stop at the highest rated ice cream place in Rome, it didn’t disappoint!

Trip Advisor: Best Gelato in Rome

We stumbled upon the National Museum of Rome and this was a great find. The architecture was amazing and we had a audio guide which was really interesting.

After all our exploring and walking around we had a chilled evening back at our room. We grabbed some take away pizza slices and a couple of ice cold cans of coke zero and enjoyed a them in our cosy room.

Day Two

Today we headed out early to have a look at the Colosseum. We went inside it on our last trip to Rome so this time we just went to have a look at it again from the outside, as well as the area around it.

We enjoyed a nice lunch and some ice cream before heading back for a siesta and our evening activity.

That evening we enjoyed our Italian cooking class, the first of our three planned activities for the trip.

It was originally going to be a pizza class (my husband is obsessed with pizza and this trip was planned by me for his birthday) but they changed the menu to pasta, as a summer alternative. Even so we had a great time!

We made pasta, a similar one to tagliatelle, Gnocci and then for dessert we made an amazing summer berries and white chocolate tiramisu. It was so good and it was so fun to cook proper pasta. You can really tell the difference.

Day Three

I think this was my favourite day of the holiday.

We had a nice early start to have a look round Palentine hill and the Roman Forum. We missed out on seeing these last time as we didn’t get there early enough and it is horrendous in the heat!

So, we made our way there nice and early and spent the morning having a look at the amazing Roman Ruins.

For lunch we headed over to the highest rated pizza place in Rome and it was delicious. This was my favourite meal and the man who owned the shop was so helpful and friendly. It’s a small little shop but so worth it.

Trip Advisor: Best Pizza in Rome

In the evening we headed to Piazza Campo de’ Fiori to have our second planned activity, a ‘By night walking tour of Rome’ Our guide was absolutely brilliant, born and raised in Rome so very knowledgable.

We saw so many different sights that we hadn’t seen before, such as the Pantheon and my favourite, the Trevi fountain (Which is SO beautiful) and much bigger than I expected. I’m so glad we got to see it this time.

Day Four

On day four our planned activity was an evening walking food tour, unfortunately it was cancelled so we had another think about what to do.

In the end we booked a morning trip, including a guided tour of the Vatican city. The tour included access to the Vatican museum, the Cistine Chapel & St Peter’s Basillca.

These places were all amazing and the artwork, tapestrys and architecture were amazing, as well as the history.

After a delicious lunch of Caprese salad, Pizza and the most amazing tiramisu we headed home for another afternoon siesta!

In the evening we took a stroll down to the Colosseum, after dinner, to have a look at it all lit up at night. It looked beautiful!

Day Five

On our final day we didnt fly out until the evening so, we wanted to make the most of our last day.

At breakfast we had a look on Viator to see what we could do.

As we didn’t make pizza at the previous cooking class we booked onto a pizza class for midday.

We stumbled across the Spanish Steps whilst we were looking for the cooking class location which was cool! Another landmark to tick off.

The cooking class was brilliant, with a lovely group of Americans & a Canadian lady. I really enjoyed making an authentic pizza in Rome and I loved seeing Tim make his favourite cuisine too.

They were really tasty!! A great lunch for our last day.

One of the other members of the cooking class mentioned a 5D experience that they were visiting later that day and as we had no other plans we thought we would check it out too!

We went for the full package 5D experience watching the history of Rome, the evolution of life and we looked around Roman landmarks with a VR headset on.

Once we had done all this it was a good time to slowly amble back to Termini to grab our bags and get the coach to the airport.

A great end to the holiday.

We had a brilliant time in Rome and I would 100% recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Italy, especially if you are a first timer as there is so much to see and do.

& of course the food is amazing.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little post about our trip!

I wonder what next years Holiblogs will be about!? Time to start thinking for 2020.

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Holiblog:Disneyland Paris🌟 The Parks 🎠🎢🎡

This second edition of holiblog is all things Disney parks.

There are two parks at Disneyland Paris, accessed via Disney village.

Disney village is so magical in itself, with it’s fun and tasty treats and happy Disney tunes on loop. It is lined with Disney shops and lots of cool eateries too.

It even has a cinema.

The two parks are Disneyland & Disney Studios.

Disneyland is akin to Magic Kingdom in Florida, it houses Main Street USA and the Disney castle, although this Disney castle is Auroras, in stead of Cinderellas. I actually love this, it’s so cool that they are different ones.

Disney Studios is much like Hollywood Studios in Florida. It has all the Studio style buildings and American streets.

🌟 Disneyland 🏰

This park is the bigger of the two and is home to classic rides such as The Pirates of the Carribean, Phantom Manor, Thunder Mountain, Hyperspace Mountain, The Carousel and much more!

The Disney illuminations take place at the Disneyland park. The lights show, fireworks ans music were amazing.

🌟 Disney Studios 🎬

Disney Studios is home to classic rides such as Rocking Rollercoaster Ft Aerosmith, Tower of terror and Toy Story land. Toy Story land was awesome and had some cool and different rides to the one in Florida.

We met loads of Characters here that we needed to tick off our list, the rest of the crew, Donald Duck & Pluto.

I also got to meet Goofy again 😁 My fave!

& just look at that Disney Castle!! 🏰🥿

So pretty 💖 So magical 🌟

It really is one of the most magical places on earth!

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Holiblog:Disneyland Paris🌟 Newport Bay Club Hotel ⚓

⚓ Newport Bay Club Hotel ⚓

This hotel is hands down one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.

The theme of this one was an American Yacht club, absolute nautical perfection.

We were all so glad we chose this one as part of our holiday package deal.

It was so Disney as well which was just epic. It just had that magical Disney, themed to perfection vibe going on

& if you’ve been to Disney you will totally get what I mean, and if you havnt then go, right now because then you’ll understand the magical awesomeness that is Disneyland & Disney parks.

You have to experience to understand just how magical it is.

Let’s take a look!

Our room was a family room so we all shared.

My absolute favourite part was the bed head boards!!! Look at those Mickey ears SO DISNEY.

It was a good size for us all and I really liked the little get ready area before the bathroom, this was really handy with 6 of us.

We had a lake view room and what a view it was.

As well as all this there were two breakfast rooms to choose from, Cape Cod & The Yacht Club.

The hotel also boasts a gym, bars, it’s own gift shop and an indoor and outdoor pool.

These were great.

The surrounding area

The area surrounding the hotel was so beautiful too.

Most of the Disney hotels are around this main lake and it is a lovely view, as I mentioned.

The hot air balloon was really cool and the view from up there was amazing.

You pass through Disney Village to get to the parks and this was also really cool.

Again, themed to perfection and buzzing with activity.

The Mickey Cafe for Meet & Greets. Loads of Disney gift shops, food stalls, restaurants and even a cinema.

(Which we were tempted by before we remembered it would all be in French 🤣)

Having been to Disney World & stayed off site and going to Disneyland Paris & staying in a Disney hotel I would 100% recommend staying in a Disney hotel.

It’s an amazing experience and it adds to the holiday in so many ways.

They are brilliant, the facilities are incredible and the perks are great too.

Extra magic hours was one of my favourite perks 👌🏻🌟

These mean you get into the parks early and miss queues for some rides that are always rammed.

The Disney meal plans are awesome too, so many resturants to choose from (varying depending on the plan you choose)

& most if not all were buffets (including the hotel brekky) so amazing value for money.

It really enhances the whole Disney experience.

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Summer diaries: Week Two, Three & Four!

Apologies for the delay! But my ‘Holiblog’ series kind of took over!

But, the summer hols are only just over so I thought I would finish the series up and update you guys on how I spent the middle weeks of the holidays.

The reason I’ve lumped a few weeks together is because I’m not going to actually explain what I did in weeks Two and Three as that is when we were in Florida…Instead I will leave the links to my holiblogs…

Weeks Two and Three

Florida 18 Holiblog pt1

Florida 18 Holiblog pt2

Florida 18 Holiblog pt3

Week Four

Thursday 23rd/Friday 24th August 2018

Tonight (Thurs) I slept over at my twin sister Sarah’s house.

We had a treat dinner before heading to bed ready for the celebrations the next day.

Friday 24th August 2018 marks two years since my beautiful youngest nephew Casey James was born.

I am so happy I am waking up there and being able to experience his birthday with him first thing. We have a fun day planned!

Our first stop was the cinema to watch

‘Luis and the aliens’

It was brilliant and we had a great time, especially with some yummy snacks and drinks included.

The film was one of the best kids films I’ve seen in ages!

Next stop! McDonald’s for a birthday treat lunch.

Stop number three, Pennikkity Pots!

Here we did something a bit different but fun and creative. The boys both chose a ceramic and they painted it. Casey chose a fish whilst Noah painted a shark.

They loved it!

Nana & Grandads in the evening for more presents opening and cake!!

It was a jammed packed but fun day to celebrate Casey turning two!

Saturday 25th August 2018

Me & my friend from work met up this evening to have a meal together.

Nandos was delicious as usual and the halloumi starter proved as difficult to avoid as always.

It was great to catch up after my holiday and have a good old chat!

Sunday 26th August 2018

Casey Jame’s second birthday party.

It’s kind of a tradition to have a little party each year, with all the family! So of course this year was no exception.

At Sarah & Dans we had party food, present opening, fun, games and of course cake!

There was a definite dino theme amongst his presents and he loved his dinosaur Jurassic World birthday cake.

We rounded off the day with a delicious impromptu (always the best kind) Chinese takeaway.

That’s the penultimate week done, its the last week next week 😱

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Holiblog: Florida edition pt 3

Disney

The other main reason for visiting Orlando, Florida was to go to Disney World.

& if you havn’t been, but love Disney, I would highly recommend it! It’s just so damn magical ✨

My husband went as a child and always said this, but I really think you have to experience it to understand.

If I was to try and describe it to you I would just say that it feels really magical, and you wander around in this magical Disney bubble and it’s just fun and happy and full of colourful mickey ears and characters and people bursting into song as if that’s just normal, because at Disney it is, and it’s just awesome.

Disney has loads of different parks so I will share some pictures and memories from each one for you. I will also include a bit on the parades/shows that we saw as they do them SO well at Disney.

Enjoy!

Disney’s Magic Kingdom

The most magical place on earth!

& it really is.

As soon as you walk in you see Mickey shaped topiary, buildings that look like something straight out of an old school Disney film (think Mary Poppins) balloons, lights, vehicles carrying parades and then right at the end of this upbeat Disney street is a truly magical sight, the Disney castle!

Magic Kingdom is home to loads of great rides such as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ ‘Its a small world’ ‘Haunted Mansion’ ‘Space Mountain’ ‘Thunder Mountain’ ‘Splash Mountain’ and many more!

They also do fantastic character parades that are well worth a watch. They really do unleash your inner child!

The ‘Happily Ever After’ Fireworks are also amazing and 100% worth a watch! So magical 🎆

Disney’s Animal Kingdom 🦁

Animal Kingdom was probably one of my favourite parks out of all of the Disney parks. They are all so well themed and this was no exception!

The park is split into different continents such as Africa and Asia and the animal attractions are themed accordingly.

It is all set around the tree of life which is at the centre of the park and is quite a beautiful sight to behold! (& a great photo point)

It hosts many AMAZING shows, and FYI the Finding Nemo Musical is not to be missed!! Seriously one of the best musicals I’ve ever seen and it doesn’t take up hours of your life!!

The Safari is also brilliant! Its such an awesome feature for the park and the array of animals that you get to see it fantastic.

Animal Kingdom is also home to the largest Rainforest Cafe in the world. We had our lunch in there and it’s really cool inside. If you’ve ever wanted to experience lunch in the rainforest then it’s definatly for you!

Disney’s Epcot 🔮

Also one of my faves (unexpectedly) was Disney’s Epcot park! Epcot is quite different from the other Disney parks but is so interesting in what it has to offer.

The great thing about Disney World is the variety that all the different parks offer, there really is something for everyone.

Epcot is so interesting because it’s very much about the future and how we can improve the world and build on the world we have using our minds, skills, resources and technology.

This is shown through experiences, games and rides.

One of my favourite rides, Soarin was a fantastic 4D simulator ride over different landscapes and it was phenomonal.

It also has a cool ‘Finding Nemo’ section within the Aquarium which was cool. The different sea life was great to see.

Plus, they did the best mac and cheese that I had the whole time I was in America haha.

Aside from these things it also boasts a MASSIVE lake that is surrounded by buildings and eateries all themed around different countries, so you can take mini tour around the world as you walk around the lake. It’s like nowhere I’ve ever been to before and it is really well done.

& not forgetting the Epcot fireworks which are hands down the best I’ve ever seen. It was an absolutely fantastic show and the fireworks, lights and music were so impressive! Again, not one to be missed.

Epcot was also epic because I got another character photo with Goofy (my fave) in my Goofy hat & he signed my hat! Awesome.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios 🎬

This is one of the newer parks and is home to lots of the Star Wars action.

Again, this was really well themed.

The streets looked like old style American New York sidewalks with skyscrapers, theatres, gas stations, diners and so on.

The main stage always played host to a show or performance which was cool to stop and watch as you walked around.

We turned up just in for the ‘March of the first order’ of Stormtroopers. Even as someone who isn’t a fan of Star Wars I thought this was really cool. It was so realistic and you just get so swept up in it all that you kind of forget it isn’t real.

Hollywood Studios also has great features and rides such as ‘Frozen’ the ‘Indiana Jones Stunt show’ ‘Tower of terror’ ‘Rockin Rollercoaster’ and loads more.

It’s also home to the brand new ‘Toy Story Land’ which is so cool. Everything in this part of the park is seemingly made out of toys, Knexs for the fences, giant Jenga pieces, building blocks, and so on.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach

Disney also plays host to two different water parks. Again these are really well themed and lots of fun.

The one we made it to was Blizzard Beach.

I was really glad we managed to see one of the water parks however, our day didn’t turn out as planned as a storm hit as we arrived and we were unable to go on any rides. Eventually we had to give up and find something else to do for the day which was a shame.

We did get to walk around the park and see all the themeing for a little bit before the storm struck but, we didn’t really get to experience it in its full glory.

However, this was where I had my first photo with Goofy so every cloud!

The other park is called ‘Typhoon Lagoon’.

I’ve always been a big fan of Disney films but I was never that fussed about visiting Disney, however now that I have been all I would say to you is GO!

Disney truly is SO much more amazing and magical than I could have ever imagined and so much fun, for all the family! It really does have to been seen to be believed and experienced to be appreciated. I’ve definatly got the Disney bug now so next stop Disneyland Paris haha 🎢🎡🏰

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Holiblog: Florida edition pt 2

Universal Studios

🌎

One of (if not the main) reason why we chose Florida was to visit Universal Studios.

If you know me and my twin sister, or have read some of my previous posts you may know that we like Harry Potter… ALOT! So, making it to Universal and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was a dream for us, for quite a while.

I still can’t believe, as I’m writing this, that we’ve actually been.

And yes, it’s every bit as epic as you can imagine (& then some) because I really think it’s one of those places that you can’t quite imagine until you are there.

Universal has three parks, Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure are the theme parks 🎢 and separate is Volcano Bay which is a water park 🌊

Islands of adventure homes Hogwarts, Hogsmede village, Seuss Landing, Juarssic Park, Superhero city, King Kong and loads more!

Universal Studios homes Diagon Alley, The Simpson’s, Transformers, Men in black, Minions, Shrek etc etc.

The rides are brilliant and, not just that, the queues!!

You never really feel like you are queuing up for ages because everything is so well themed.

The Harry Potter queues were EPIC.

You got to go through Hogwarts as you wait for ‘Harry Potter & the forbidden journey’

And you go through Gringotts bank as you wait for ‘Harry Potter & the escape from Gringotts’

The attention to detail is incredible, it’s just all so well done.

Even if you aren’t a Harry Potter fan you would love it.

It was so cool to go through Hogsmeade, visit the shops, have food in the eateries (just like in the books!!) Travel on the Hogwarts express and Shop in Diagon Alley. It’s just amazing.

The Hogwarts express train takes you from one park to the over so although you can walk this is a lovely way to go.

I will go into a bit more detail about the Harry potter section in a later post as me and my sister had a day at the Harry Potter parts 😁

Some of my other favourite parts of Universal include ‘Seuss Landing’

This is all themed like the different books by Dr Seuss, such as The Grinch, Cat in the Hat, Sneeches, Green eggs & ham etc.

It was absolutely brilliant. So colourful and fun you couldn’t help but enjoy yourself in there. We had a lovely lunch in The Circus Mcgurkis too which was fun as one of the rides goes through the restaurant.

This was a big hit with my nephews, very child friendly and as I said, lots of fun!

I also loved The Simpson’s area; ‘Springfield’ this again was so well done. The roads and decorations were all done in a cartoon style so you really felt like you were walking through the Simpson’s.

There were loads of the iconic shops like Moes Tavern, The Kwik i Mart, Lard Lad doughnuts etc. It was great. The Simpson’s rides was also one of my favourites too.

Universal have loads of Simulator rides which are fantastic, you really feel like you are in the experience whether it be the Simpson’s, Harry Potter, Spiderman. If you are a fan of 3D/4DX simulators then you’ll love these. They were great for me as I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to rollercoasters haha.

One of our favourite things about Universal was the refillable cups that they had on offer. You paid to buy it and then you could refill it as many times as you want! The machines had LOADS of different beverages with so many flavours. Each day you had to re activate it but it was cheaper to do so and when you are spending the whole day there it saves you alot of money.

It was a god send in the August heat!!

Universal was so easy to get to from our Hotel, we could walk in 30mins, although it wasn’t always advisable in the heat with small children, especially at certain times of the day (but we did go in August!!)

Our hotel also had a free shuttle to Universal and there were free shuttles to Volcano bay too which was super handy.

Volcano Bay

We spent an afternoon at Volcano bay water park and it was really good fun.

It’s quite a new park.

It was super easy to get to as I said and once you were there, there was lots to do.

You get these cool Tapu Tapu wristbands that allow you to book a space on a slide so you never have to queue, you just get notified of when there is a space!

We loved the lazy river 🌊

The Volcano at the centre of the park was really impressive and although I was too much of a wimp to try out the hideously high slides coming from it, it did look really cool.

We could even see it smoking from our hotel a few miles away haha.

It looked really cool lit up at night.

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂

Holiblog: Florida edition pt1

Part one: The Hotel & local area

So, if you’ve followed me for a bit you’ll know that back in 2016 I did a Holiblog (Holiday Blog -See what I did there?!) Series when we were on our honeymoon to Sardinia.

Well, for the last two weeks we have been on our dream holiday in Orlando, Florida and I really wanted to do the same for this trip, as a nice way to capture the experience.

We packed alot into two weeks so I’m not 100% sure how I will split the blogs yet as I will only know how long they will be when I’m writing them, but that’s why it’s a series aye!

For the first edition I thought that I would show you guys the amazing Orlando area inc our lovely Hotel/Apartment.

So without further ado, let’s get stuck in!

The Apartment/Hotel

We stayed at the amazing Enclave Suites off International Drive.

We had a two bedroom apartment for the 6 of us (Casey in a travel cot) Both bedrooms had lovely en-suites and the lounge and kitchenette were great.

We also had a lovely long balcony with an awesome view of the pool & surrounding area. Love a balcony.

The hotel had a lovely big pool which our apartment over looked.

It also had lovely grounds with lots of lush greenery and a quaint gazebo area overlooking a lake.

The hotel had a restaurant onsite which is where we had our complimentary brekky, it also did some really yummy lunch food and was Pizza hut in the evening!!

The staff were SO friendly and made you feel so welcome and at home.

I would 100% recommend checking them out if you are off to Florida and I would love to go back.

➡️ The Enclave Suites

The local area

The surrounding area was really lovely.

We were close to busy International Drive so it was very commercial but the roads are lined with beautiful lush grass, palm trees and man made lakes.

And of course the beautiful blue skies help with the lovely feel of the place 🏞

As I said some of it very commercial but it’s so COOL and you really feel like you are getting the full American experience.

Until next time,

Roseanne 🙂
