Happy body, happy mind! πŸ›€πŸ™πŸ˜Œ

Hi! I’m back, it’s been too long (Over a week!!) I feel like I’ve had no time at the moment so I took this evening out to have a bit of ‘me time’ and to actually write a blog post.

It’s really important to take time out to relax especially if you feel like things are getting on top of you. Do things that you enjoy but havn’t been able to do, preferably something stress free and relaxing. Life can be busy and chaotic and we often put ourselves last, I think we are all guilty of this from time to time.

So what do I like to do to chill out? I love a good pamper. I’ve really got into bath/skin/body products recently and I just love an opportunity to soak and freshen up.

I started by running myself a lovely hot bath and getting out my products.

For my bath:

  • Lush ‘Flamingo’ bubble bar
  • Lush ‘Butterbear’ bath bomb
  • Radox ‘Feel pampered’ bath soak with shea butter and ginger

When I’m in the bath I like to pamper myself further with some lovely skincare…

Skincare/face/body

  • Witch ‘Naturally clear bursting beads’ face wash
  • Vasanti ‘Brighten up!’ Enzymatic face rejuvinator
  • Superdrugs fruity ‘Orange and satsuma’ shower gel
  • Zoella ‘Pretty polished’ sugar scrub
  • Nspa beauty rituals ‘Radiance boosting’ face mask
  • Zoella ‘Creamy madly dreamy’ body lotion

After I’d scrubbed with my sugar scrub (this feels lovely rubbed into dry skin and then rinsed off) washed myself & washed my face I then applied my face mask and left this on for 15 minutes.

I love to wash my hair when I am having a bath too for a completely clean and fresh feeling. Some of my favourite shampoos and conditioners are…

Shampoos and conditioners

  • Superdrug Anti dandruff ‘Classic care’ shampoo
  • Aussie ‘Miracle moist’ shampoo
  • Argan oil ‘hydrating’ hair mask
  • Kebelo ‘Clarifying’ shampoo (for use once or twice a month, a nice treat!)

Going back to the products in the picture above, I love the Witch face wash and spot products and they have always worked for me going back to my mid teens. I’ve had a few breakouts recently which is why I re purchased the face wash and spot stick, I would 100% recommend their products.

(Fingers crossed the face mask doesn’t make me break out even more!!)

Once I had washed off the mask I used my Vasanti face rejuvinator. When I’m out of the bath I always apply moisturiser to my face and today I even used my Zoella body lotion. I love the scent of her Creamy madly dreamy body lotion as it is from her original collection, my fave!

Just to mention, I also love candles and wax melts to help me relax so I popped one of my Crumble magic wax melts into my burner. Today I went for Raspberry lemonade that smells so fruity, fizzy and delicious.

One final pamper product that I used was to give my feet a treat!  I used my foot pedi to get rid of any dry skin, then I used the foot scrub and finally I applied the foot lotion, ahhh.

Ps. A snack and a refreshing drink is always a winner too…

Last but not least, I hadn’t done my gel nails for a while so I thought this would be the perfect way to finish off my pamper evening, especially when I can do it sitting in front of the TV in my pjs! Perfection πŸ‘Œ

I am loving my Sensationail gel nail kit so much and I went for the raspberry/burgundy shade that came in the set, it’s called ‘Miss behave’.

Happy body, happy mind.

What I got for Christmas!

I love reading and watching what people got for Christmas do I thought I would make my first blog post of 2017 just that.I’m not trying to brag about what I got, I just wanted to share the things that I kindly received. Also, I havnt included everything, just a selection and what I got in my stocking (because its one of the best bits of Christmas, you know I’m right!!)

So let’s go!

I’ll start with my stocking as these are the first things I opened…

In my stocking I got some super cute pressies, I got some cosy reindeer slippers, cute polar bear earmuffs, a hand cream that is Vanilla frosting scented (so good!) A sausage dog ruler (that will be going to work with me!) A retro puzzle, chocolate (including my favourite, chocolate orange (yup it’s already gone.) And some yummy tea. A lovely selection, Santa did good πŸ‘Œ

I was very lucky and got some lovely beauty products this year! I had asked for a few but didn’t know which I was going to end up with so it was still a nice surprise.

From Lush I got the ‘Ballistic’ bath bomb. This smells amazing and is double sided, the yellow side is the powdery texture of a bath bomb and the pink side is waxy. I can’t wait to try it out.

I also got three items from Zoella’s original beauty collection, The hand sanitizer, the ‘Creamy madly dreamy’ body lotion and the ‘Pretty polished’ body scrub. The scent of her original collection is my favourite so I was really excited when she added new items to the range.

From Soap and Glory I got the ‘Deep cleansing milk’ This melts away makeup and is a gorgeous cleanser that smells amazing. I’m using this as part of my skincare routine to remove my make up and it’s lovely.

I was also very lucky to get a few items from Tanya Burr’s Christmas collection.

The beauty holdall is so pretty and perfect for carrying toiletries or make up when travelling or as make up storage. It’s gold with little light pink lips all over it. I also got the ‘Tanya presents’ beauty box which is a lovely light blue box with little black stars and a gold trim. Inside the box you get two nail files with the star pattern, in light green and light pink as well as a ‘Smokey eye’ trio of eyeshadows that are called ‘Luna’, ‘Winter walk’ and ‘Dusk’. You also get her ‘Bambi eyes’ false lashes, a liquid highlighter, a miniature lip gloss in the colour ‘Afternoon tea’ and a mini compact mirror that’s light blue with cute little white dots. Such good value for money (especially as I found it in the sales just before Christmas for Tim) Such a lovely selection of products to try out.

This is one of the gorgeous palettes that she released this Christmas and I love it. This is a fab all round palette with everything you need to create a gorgeous make up look. Included in the palette is a blusher called ‘First kiss’ a highlighter called ‘Champagne shimmer’ four eyeshadows ‘Vanilla sugar’, ‘Toasted teacake’, ‘Hot chocolate and cream’ and ‘Cocoa dust’. The mini matte lipstick is in the shade ‘Martha moo’. I love this palette so much and I was so pleased that Martha moo was the lip shade as this is so hard to come by now.

I love this present, it’s Sensationails gel starter kit. It comes with two gorgeous gel nail colours, all the equipment you need including a UV lamp, and a nail varnish to gel transformer so that you can  make your nail varnish into gel varnish. This is much cheaper than having gels done at a salon, more convenient and the fact that I can use my existing varnish and turn it into gel is so awesome, all my lovely colours in my collection won’t be wasted.

Some other lovely presents I got are…

These two books are amazing! As you’ll know, if you’ve seen my blog before, I love Harry Potter so I was super excited to see that they had brought out the second book in illustrated form, the pictures are beautiful. This Fantastic beasts book has loads of information on the making of the film, amazing photographs and little extra artefacts to do with the characters (see below)

I love how the book looks like Newts case and opens up on the side like his case!

I also got a VR headset from Tim. My sister got one for her husband in November and I had a go on it, it was really fun. I didn’t realise Tim had remembered me saying how much I enjoyed it but he obviously did!

This was a lovely surprise and so much fun. I’ve downloaded lots of different apps to use, I love the horror ones even though it’s so realistic!! 😱

Me and Tim got these super cute pillowcases from his Auntie! They are ‘Mr and Mrs’ pillowcases, the ‘Mr’ one has a moustache under the word and the ‘Mrs’ one has some red lips under the word. These are so cute and a lovely present to receive for our first christmas as a married couple.

I love Cath Kidson and I really enjoy the adult colouring books so this is a perfect present for me. The patterns in this are all lovely Cath Kidson patterns. It shows you what they should look like if you want to follow the actual design or you can colour it how you like.

I got a gorgeous photograph of my newest nephew Casey. This one can join the one of Noah that is already on the wall. How cute is the fox costume?! 😍

And finally, I got this gorgeous necklace and earring set from Tim.
It’s really special as it matches my engagement ring and is my favourite colour (it also happens to be my birthstone!) β™‘

So pretty!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this snippet into what I got for Christmas and I hope that you got some lovely things too.

Let’s make it a good one!

Until next time,

My daily skincare routine.

I thought I would share with you my usual morning skincare routine, including the products that I like to use.

I start off my skincare routine in the shower. I use normal shower creme but I am loving this lemon scented one from Aldi at the moment.

It’s really lemony, zesty & fragrant. The smell & oils in this really hit you and wake you up! and you deal fresh and clean ready for the day ahead πŸ‹

I also like to use Zoellas Scrubbing me softly smoothing body scrub from her Tutti Fruitti range.

This smells really lovely and I absolutly LOVE the texture of it. It’s quite thick & smooth but when you rub it into your skin you can really feel the beads gently exfoliating your skin and it does leave it feeling so smooth.

The last thing I use in the shower is my LUSH ocean salt face & body scrub.

Lashings of fine sea salt to scrub and clean, organic limes to brighten and avocado butter to soften your skin.

This is so lovely & does exactly what it says on the tin πŸ‘Œ

I use this on the areas of my face where I get particularly dry skin or where my face breaks out the most, I’ve been doing this at the advice of the beautician who did my facial at Aqua springs during half term and it has defiantly helped me reduce the amount of spots I get on those problem areas.

LUSH create lovely natural products which is good to know if you use their things regularly. I use this once or twice a week depending on how my skin is.

Once I’m out of the shower I cleanse and tone.

(I’ve just run out of the cleanser so I couldn’t include a picture!!)

Both my cleanser and toner are from Superdrug Vitamin E range. This is great for adding moisture to your skin and since my skin can be a little dry this is ideal for me.

I put a little bit of the product onto a cotton pad and apply it all over my face and neck. Cleanser first, then toner.

I have a couple of different moisturisers & creams that I use on my face. I’ll start with my moisturiser by Olay.

I have been using this Olay day time beauty fluid for Normal/dry/combo skin since my teens and it has always left my skin feeling moisturised and refreshed. Now that I am mid twentys (ahh, that makes me feel old πŸ™ˆ) I think my skin is in pretty good condition & I’m sure this moisturiser has played it’s part!

To add a bit more hydration to my skin I also use the Day cream from Superdrugs Vitamin E range. 24hr hydration πŸ’§

This cream is rich in natural Vitamin E, high in anti oxidants and defends against environmental skin damage, it’s spf 15 too! 🌝

This cream is a bit thicker than the Olay one so it’s nice to have a couple of different products that work for my skin.

In the picture you’ll also see the Moisture boost facial serum from the Superdrug Vitamin E range; I use this every other day. This serum is more of a gel consistency and is great to apply before or after moisturiser.

And, the Nourishing eye cream; I use this probably every other day or when my eyes are feeling particularly tired and in need of a pick me up!

So that’s me! πŸ‘± Using these products always leaves my skin feeling lovely & ready for the day (even without any make up)

My sister recently did a blog post on some of her skincare faves, including the new Garnier Skin active moisture bomb range! πŸ™Œ  Check that out here.

Let me know what your skincare staples are! Any recommendations?!?

YouTuber products πŸ–²πŸ›πŸŽ€

Here are a few products from two of my favourite YouTubers Zoella&Tanya Burr.

Tanya burr cosmetics ‘perfect brows’ kit.

This powder eyeshadow kit is great. It has four colours;

  • Fairy cake: this is a lovely highlighter to apply under the filled brown.
  • Pebble: A light beige colour to fill in the brow.
  • Chesnut: A light brown colour to fill in the brow.
  • Hot Cocoa: A dark brown colour to fill in the brow.

I use ‘Pebble’ & ‘Chesnut’ mixed together when I do my brows, this palette is great! I don’t use ‘Hot Cocoa’ as its a bit dark for me but it’s a lovely shade.

Everyday flutter lashes.

I haven’t used these yet but they look really pretty. These half lashes have a natural, eye opening effect.

I went for the ‘everyday’ lashes as I haven’t worn flash lashes before so I thought these would be good for a first try, without being too much.

I’m going to watch some of Tanya’s videos to see how to put them on best!

I bought three different products from the Zoella beauty ‘Tutti Fruity’ range. This range is being discontinued soon so I thought I would try some out of it out before that happens, plus my sister Sarah loves this range and is always raving about how nice it is.

Zoella scrubbing me softly smoothing body scrub.

‘Buff your way to snuggly -soft skin with this fresh, fruity scrub. Enriched with Acai and blueberry this body Polish has a light, feminine fragrance to uplift and give you an instant burst of energy. With conditioning Cocoa butter -lovely scrubbly!

Zoella Candy cream softening body lotion.

‘Treat yourself to this delicious fresh, fruity cream for a soft and silky body. Packed with bursting beads and extracts of Acai and blueberry to pamper and protect because your skin needs a bit of love too!

Zoella ‘Kissy Missy’ lip balm.

Β£1

This has a lovely pink tinge to it and makes your lips feel really smooth, not tacky. The colour is lovely and good for a quick pop of colour.

& from the New Zoella lifestyle range…

The ‘Homemade treats’ reed diffuser.

Softly whipped butter xterm and gooey salted caramel drizzled over home-baked cupcakes. Bring some indulgence to youe home with this delicious scent; (almost) good enough to eat!

It smells SO good!! And the description of buttery creamy, cupcake goodness is on point. It takes a few days to diffuse fully but once it does its so yummy.

I really hope Zoella brings this scent out as a candle soon, they are perfecting it atm so fingers crossed it will be soon πŸ‘Œ

This would make an amazing candle πŸ•―
