Blogmas 2019 Day Twenty Two: A Christmas Panto ๐Ÿงžโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Every year me and my husband Tim go to our local theatres Rock N Roll panto.

It’s one of our Christmas traditions and we always look forward to it. We have been going for a few years now.

This year the panto was Aladdin.

It was an absolutely brilliant show, as always!

The set was my favourite so far. As you can see from the above picture, it was really well done. The panto was set in Shanghai and the set was so colourful with lanterns decorating the rest of the theatre.

The show was hilarious, one of the funniest yet! We were seriously laughing out loud alot during the first half.

We usually go earlier in December but it was really cool to go so close to Chrsitmas as it always makes me feel so festive and it was perfect for getting into a Christmassy mood.

It was a great evening together and one of my favourite traditions that we do together ๐Ÿ˜Š

Blogmas 2019 Day Four: ‘The Season’ Musical โ„

Day four of Blogmas is here!

Recently me and my husband Tim made an impromptu visit to the theatre. I saw a local Christmassy show advertised on Facebook and thought, why not!?

Every year we see the Rock N roll Christmas panto at the same theatre so we hoped this would be to the same standard! And it didn’t disappoint.

‘A New Musical by Jim Barne & Kit Buchan

Itโ€™s Christmas Eve and Dougal has travelled from Ipswich to New York for his fatherโ€™s wedding. At JFK Airport heโ€™s greeted by Robyn. Tomorrow her sister becomes his stepmother and Robynโ€™s dreading it. Dougal canโ€™t wait. But then Dougal loves Christmas and Robynโ€™s the original Grinch.

Thrown together for a wild weekend in the city that never sleeps, their adventure becomes a musical whirlwind of confession, frustration and maxing-out credit cards in Macyโ€™s. Will these two endearing misfits provide the ultimate test for the theory that opposites always attract? ‘

It had a lovely Christmassy feel to it and it was a very cute story.

The songs and acting were great and it was really funny, a feel good story.

It was set in NYC at Christmas which is famously magical and festive at Christmas so that was really cool.
I always think it’s so amazing how they do such an awesome job of portraying a story with few actors (there were only 2 in this show) and a simple stage layout that they adapt for different scenes. It’s very clever.

We felt so festive afterwards and it was the perfect pre Christmas activity!

I’m really glad we went as we don’t often go to these kinds of shows, favouring the cinema. It was a very welcome change and a lovely evening spent together.

Blogmas Day 12: Our Christmas panto tradition

Every year me and Tim go to the local theatre to see their Rock N Roll Panto. It is always on at Christmas time, running from November through to January.

It has become one of our favourite Christmas traditions together and it is a lot of fun.

The pantos are fantastic, hilarious and the people starring in them are so incredibly talented. They sing, act and play all the instruments throughout the show.

Their audience interaction always makes for a laugh too.

This year the panto went back to its roots, re doing the first show it ever did, Cinderella.

I love this story and it is a panto classic, which didn’t disappoint.

‘Itโ€™s time to Shake a Tail Feather and head Downtown to Ipswich Town Hall to meet the Mayor, Baron Hardup! Itโ€™s not easy being Mayor, with Prince Charming due in town for a Royal visit and a staff of only two โ€“ his beautiful, feisty daughter, Cinderella and the loyal and loveable Buttons. But when his lonely hearts ad is answered by the mysterious Rubella De Zees, who brings along her two dangerous daughters Hernia and Verruca, it seems heโ€™s far more than Three Steps to Heaven. Thankfully, thereโ€™s a Fairy Godmother to make sure Cinderella is ready to Rock Around The Clock!’

It was lovely to spend the evening together and have some festive fun at the theatre.

I cant wait to see which show they will perform next year.

Until next time,

Blogmas day 17: The Panto

Every Christmas The Wolsey theatre in my home town does a rock n roll panto! It’s full of fun, laughs, colour & songs and this year was no exception. The panto this year was;

I was unsure about it when I heard what the panto was going to be as I don’t really know the story of Sinbad but it didn’t disappoint! It was quite cool not knowing the story and what was going to happen next actually.

Me & Tim go every year as a little Christmas tradition but he had his work Christmas meal on the day we booked the tickets (obviously not realising at the time) so I went with my sister Sarah instead.

It was so good, the songs were great and the set and costumes were really good too. All the actors are so talented playing all their different instruments, singing & acting.

I would definatly recommend going to see a panto it’s so much fun ๐Ÿ˜Š

Me & Tim are going to try and get him some tickets so we can go together, we don’t want him to miss out!!

In my beauty advent calender today…

Todays was a lovely shimmery sheer lip gloss. I’m definatly getting a good collection of lip glosses now, but since I like lip products I don’t mind!

What’s yours favourite lip product/s?

8 days to go!
