Some of you may know, some of you may not, but I started this blog when we were planning our wedding! I started it to document the lead up and planning to the big day.
So, it seems only right each year to do a little post to honour the day that inspired this blog in the first place.
The blog has evolved over the years and has more of a book focus, but this is how it all began π
Let’s take a look back at our special day!
11.06.16
I loved our pink & green theme. These are still my two favourite colours.
My bouquet still has pride of place on our dining room table, and I loved all the personal touches like our ‘Honeydukes’ sweet shop!!
We had a brilliant day with our family and friends.
And the party was pretty good too π₯³
We spent our 9th wedding anniversary enjoying a cooked brekky together before work, and exchanged our cards and pressies. Tim got me some lovely flowers π π
We had a lovely dinner at one of our favourite Italian restaurants this evening.

It’s our 8 year wedding anniversary today! ππ
In August 2015, we started planning our wedding, and that is when I began ‘Roseanne’s blog’ to document our wedding planning & the big day!
So, heres a little look at our wonderful day π₯Ή
Some of my favourite things about our wedding day that we planned were:
β’The venue – it was a converted barn that was beautiful, and we both fell in love with it the first time we visited. We just got this feeling that this was the place β‘ I loved the incorporation of all the old features of the barn in the venue, as well as the two separate rooms for the ceremony and reception. It was just perfect.
β’The Colour scheme. My two favourite colours and I just love how they look together in all aspects from the flowers, centrepieces and decorations.
β’The people involved in our day. It was so lovely spending the day with so many loved ones. We really enjoyed having some of our favourite people for both the bride & groom parties, that we chose together, as well as those doing the readings, photos/videos (which were family & friends) It all added to the day and made it so special.
β’Our geeky touches that made the wedding ‘us’ from a Middle Earth wedding breakfast to Harry Potter wedding programs and a Honeydukes sweet shop at the Reception. I just loved adding all these little personal details to our day.
β’Our Italian inspired food (Pizza & antipast!!) including our cake with authentic Italian decorations from Venice π
I love documenting what we get up to in the Summer holidays.
Though thanks to Covid we didnt actually have a Summer ‘holiday’, I also didn’t have to work this Summer, so I had all six weeks to enjoy, have fun and relax ready for Sept!
So, without further ado, let’s have a look at what we got up to…
This hotel is hands down one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.
The theme of this one was an American Yacht club, absolute nautical perfection.
We were all so glad we chose this one as part of our holiday package deal.
It was so Disney as well which was just epic. It just had that magical Disney, themed to perfection vibe going on
& if you’ve been to Disney you will totally get what I mean, and if you havnt then go, right now because then you’ll understand the magical awesomeness that is Disneyland & Disney parks.
You have to experience to understand just how magical it is.
Let’s take a look!
Our room was a family room so we all shared.
My absolute favourite part was the bed head boards!!! Look at those Mickey ears SO DISNEY.
It was a good size for us all and I really liked the little get ready area before the bathroom, this was really handy with 6 of us.
We had a lake view room and what a view it was.
As well as all this there were two breakfast rooms to choose from, Cape Cod & The Yacht Club.
The hotel also boasts a gym, bars, it’s own gift shop and an indoor and outdoor pool.
These were great.
The surrounding area
The area surrounding the hotel was so beautiful too.
Most of the Disney hotels are around this main lake and it is a lovely view, as I mentioned.
The hot air balloon was really cool and the view from up there was amazing.
You pass through Disney Village to get to the parks and this was also really cool.
Again, themed to perfection and buzzing with activity.
The Mickey Cafe for Meet & Greets. Loads of Disney gift shops, food stalls, restaurants and even a cinema.
(Which we were tempted by before we remembered it would all be in French π€£)
Having been to Disney World & stayed off site and going to Disneyland Paris & staying in a Disney hotel I would 100% recommend staying in a Disney hotel.
It’s an amazing experience and it adds to the holiday in so many ways.
They are brilliant, the facilities are incredible and the perks are great too.
Extra magic hours was one of my favourite perks ππ»π
These mean you get into the parks early and miss queues for some rides that are always rammed.
The Disney meal plans are awesome too, so many resturants to choose from (varying depending on the plan you choose)
& most if not all were buffets (including the hotel brekky) so amazing value for money.
