Blogmas Day Nineteen: A Winter Walk β„πŸŽ„

6 days to go!

Me & my friends from work (past & present) when on a little walk and coffee catch up this morning.

It was super foggy – it looked so pretty, it was just a shame that it was so damp! My feet were a little chilly.

We did a short walk before heading in for a coffee, a snack and a much needed catch up.

When my husband Tim came to get me we decided to embark on the longer walking route before heading home.

We have enjoyed this walk many times and with a Candy Cane Hot Chocolate in hand (very festive!) we made our way round the route. Its roughly a 40/45 minute walk. It was lovely.

I took some photos whilst we were there and here they are…

Walks are one of my favourite things to do these days.

Do you enjoy a Winter Walk?

Blogmas Day Sixteen: Present ideas for children πŸŽ

9 days to go!

I found a cute present idea for children, based around a little rhyme, and I thought that I would share it with you.

I actually saw it on a Tik Tok 🀣

Something they want, something to wear, something to read and something to share.

I thought this was a really cute idea and a nice easy way to give you a bit of structure to the present buying, as it’s so easy to get carried away.

I have done this for my Nephews and Niece this year.

Something they want

A little toy/teddy that they want.

Something to wear

I went gor jumpers as it’s very chilly atm.

Something to read

A book for them to read and enjoy.

And Something to share

A game (board/card game) etc

I really enjoyed looking for little bits and pieces for each part of the rhyme – its a really cute idea and makes shopping a little less stressful.

What do you think?

Blogmas Day Fifteen: Decorating a gingerbread house

10 DAYS TO GO PEOPLE!! 10 DAYS!!

This is not a drill.

And what better way to get you into the festive spirit than constructing and decorating a gingerbread house.

Let’s take a peek πŸ‘€

The icing provided was really bad so I whipped up my own just using icing sugar and water, with a make shift piping bag from parchment paper.

We had a laugh and it came out ok in the end … I’m fairly certain there were more sprinkles on my floor than on this roof though 🀣

Have you attempted a gingerbread house before?

Blogmas Day Fourteen: Christmas Card Craft

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸ»

11 days until Christmas!

I enjoy making cards and have been doing so for like 12 years now, maybe longer.

I wish I had more time to do it to be honest and the last few years its been hard to make them for both birthdays and Christmas….

…For birthday’s I have opted for the assistance of a certain Funky Pidgeon but I like to make sure that I hand make my Christmas ones.

(Why? when it’s the busiest time of year I don’t know 🀣😬)

But its a good activity to make you feel festive, so here we are again!

Let’s take a look!

Blogmas Day Thirteen: Chocolate Christmas trees πŸ«πŸŽ„

12 days until Christmas! – 12!!! Where is the time going.

So, lets make sure that we are fully in the festive spirit with another tasty (& super easy) Christmas recipe.

I made these with my nephews and we had lots of fun.

πŸŽ„ Chocolate Christmas Trees πŸŽ„

Ingredients:

  • White Chocolate
  • Mini Kinder bars
  • Festive Sprinkles
  • Magic Stars
  • Green food colouring

+

  • Baking parchment

Method:

  1. Place a Kinder bar, vertical, at the bottom of your piece of parchment.
  2. Slowly melt your white chocolate, 30 second increments until it is all fully melted.
  3. Mix in some green food colouring.
  4. Mix until it forms a thick paste/dough.
  5. Roll out and cut into a triangle tree shape.
  6. Place the triangle on top of the Kinder bar leaving a bit sticking out the bottom as the stump.
  7. Leave to cool a little but don’t let it harden.
  8. Place a choc star on top and decorate with your festive sprinkles.
  9. Leave in the fridge to harden completely
  10. Enjoy!
They were a big hit!

Let me know how you get on if you give them a go!

Blogmas Day Twelve: My Christmas Bookcase πŸ“š

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸ»

13 days to go!

Last year, since I moved and ‘upgraded’ shall we say, my reading corner. Thanks to the pandemic I made more use of it and had more time.

Last year I found some cool pictures where people had made snowmen and reindeers using their books and bookcases.

Here is last years efforts…

This year I made a whole christmas tree, the length of my bookcase. This one was alot harder but it was fun to give it a go!

Blogmas Day Eleven: The Magical Music of Harry Potter βš‘🎢

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸ»

13 days to go!

Yesterday me and my sister went to ‘The Magical Music of Harry Potter’ concert at our local theatre.

It was a 30th Birthday present from bavk in May but it felt very festive in the frosty evening – especially as they played alot of the festive/wintery music from the Harry Potter films.

The concert was performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Chris Rankin, who played Percy Weasley in the Harry Potter films (Amazing!!!) A real life Weasley.

The music was very magical and just as awesome as it is in the films.

Chris offered lots of anecdotes from filming and behind the scenes. He was really charismatic and funny, AND a brilliant singer.

It was so good and perfect for any fellow Potterheads out there ⚑

Blogmas Day Ten: The Christmas Panto!

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸ»

15 days to go!!

Now we all have our own Christmas traditons don’t we? And one of mine and my husband’s favourites is to see our local theatres Rock n Roll Panto.

It is on every Christmas and we love it.

The last two years we have watched it via a Livestream due to Covid but they have adapted it brilliantly so it works so well both ways.

This years panto was ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’

It was great to see the usual regulars who take part each year and it was as hilarious as always. I love it when they break character 🀣

We snuggled up and enjoyed it together with some snacks!

Do you have a favourite Christmas show?

Until Next Time,
