Day 8:
Christmas is a magical time of year anyway but it’s even more so when your work with children.
Working in a reception class and at an after school club there are lots of fun ways to enjoy this festive season.
Me and the children at the after school club decorated the tree and room together this time last week. They loved it and it was really lovely to do this with them.
The Christmas tree.
The room.
Me and the other Ta’s that I work with in reception have created a Santa’s grotto and workshop in our outside area.
It’s good fun as they can pretend to be Santa or can pretend to visit Santa in his grotto. The workshop is also lots of fun, they love wearing the elf helper hats and it also offers lots of fun ways for them to learn too.
They are writing letters to Santa, drawing and cutting out Christmas decorations, cutting, sticking and wrapping presents, physical activity using the sleigh and using their imaginations.
Here are some of the things I made:
Santa’s grotto sign and stocking decorations.
Fireplace with Santa coming down.
Santa’s sleigh.
I’ll be wearing my Christmas jumper tommorrow at school for Text Santa.
And not forgetting the Christmas fayre that was last Friday! Wrapping presents for the kids was lots of fun.
At the school fayre.
The after school club becomes a holiday club once term has finished and we have loads of fun activities planned which I’m looking forward to doing!
It may be tiring working with children but it’s also really rewarding when you see them having so much fun!
Merry Christmas everyone!
17 sleeps to go.
Until next time,
Roseanne π
