Blogmas Day Twelve: My Christmas Bookcase πŸ“š

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸ»

13 days to go!

Last year, since I moved and ‘upgraded’ shall we say, my reading corner. Thanks to the pandemic I made more use of it and had more time.

Last year I found some cool pictures where people had made snowmen and reindeers using their books and bookcases.

Here is last years efforts…

This year I made a whole christmas tree, the length of my bookcase. This one was alot harder but it was fun to give it a go!

What do you think?

Blogmas Day Eleven: The Magical Music of Harry Potter βš‘🎢

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸ»

13 days to go!

Yesterday me and my sister went to ‘The Magical Music of Harry Potter’ concert at our local theatre.

It was a 30th Birthday present from bavk in May but it felt very festive in the frosty evening – especially as they played alot of the festive/wintery music from the Harry Potter films.

The concert was performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Chris Rankin, who played Percy Weasley in the Harry Potter films (Amazing!!!) A real life Weasley.

The music was very magical and just as awesome as it is in the films.

Chris offered lots of anecdotes from filming and behind the scenes. He was really charismatic and funny, AND a brilliant singer.

It was so good and perfect for any fellow Potterheads out there ⚑

Blogmas Day Ten: The Christmas Panto!

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸ»

15 days to go!!

Now we all have our own Christmas traditons don’t we? And one of mine and my husband’s favourites is to see our local theatres Rock n Roll Panto.

It is on every Christmas and we love it.

The last two years we have watched it via a Livestream due to Covid but they have adapted it brilliantly so it works so well both ways.

This years panto was ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’

It was great to see the usual regulars who take part each year and it was as hilarious as always. I love it when they break character 🀣

We snuggled up and enjoyed it together with some snacks!

Do you have a favourite Christmas show?

Blogmas Day Nine: My favourite Christmas films πŸ“½πŸŽ„

Hi guys! πŸ‘‹πŸ»

16 days to go!

Deck the Halls

I only discovered this one about 2-3 years ago but it is BRILLIANT. Funny, festive, traditional and a little tacky (the perfect Christmas)

The Snowman

An absolute classic. Christmas isn’t Christmas without the snowman. Period.

Elf

‘SANTA!! I KNOW HIM’

I am the Elf! I am this enthusiastic at Christmas so I love this film.

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

An ICONIC character (& portrayal) this is one of those classic and brilliantly quotable films. **Disclaimer: this is a prime example of giving a film a chance, I used to hate it because I never gave it a chance and now I love it.

Love Actually

How could you Alan!?! 😒 Still not over it.

Nativity!

It’s BRILLIANT. I think it’s even funnier because I work in a primary school 🀣

Last Christmas

It being based around my fave Christmas song was always going to make this a winner but, it was also very sweet & very feel good.

What are your favourite Christmas films??

Blogmas Day Eight: Mini Christmas Pudding Rice Crispy Cakes πŸ«

17 days to go!

Ingredients:

  • Rice Crispies
  • Milk Chocolate
  • White Chocolate
  • Christmas Sprinkles or icing pens

Method:

  1. Melt the milk chocolate slowly, 30 second increments, in the microwave or in a ban marie. I used 1 and a half large bars of Dairy Milk.
  2. Once it is fully melted tip in the rice crispies, gradually mixing to combine. Add as many as you can until they are all coated in the chocolate.
  3. Spoon into a empty cupcake tin and flatten the top.
  4. Refridgerate.
  5. Once hardened, carefully use a knife to pop them out. Place them flat side down on a plate.
  6. Carefully melt the white chocolate. I used 2 medium Milkybars
  7. Drizzle over the top and allow it to drip down the sides a little.
  8. Decorate to look like a piece of Holly on top.
  9. Pop back into the fridge so that the white chocolate hardens
  10. Enjoy!

1.5 Large bars of Dairy Milk and Rice Crispies combined made roughly 10.

What do you like to bake at Christmas?

Blogmas Day Seven: Decorating our tree πŸŽ„

18 days to go!

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸ»

I hope you are enjoying the Christmas build up and feeling suitably festive.

One of my favourite things to do to make me feel super festive is decorate the tree and we were finally able to put ours up this weekend.

I do most of the festive decorating around the flat but we always decorate the main tree together.

We have a traditonal colour scheme of Red, Gold & Green.

Lets take a look!

Blogmas Day Four: Our Work Christmas Party πŸ₯‚

21 Days to go!

On Friday we had our work Christmas party.

We booked this during the last school year so that we had something to look forward to!!

And it was a great night!

The theme of the evening was ‘Great Gatsby’ so they had lots of Flapper, dancing performers, a Singer, Acrobats and Fire Eaters.

They performed inbetween the different course.

The three course meal was really delicious. I wasn’t keen on the desserts but my Starter and Main were great.

My Starter.

This buttermilk chicken was delicious. It came with mini tortillas and homemade coleslaw.

My main course was the Vegetarian Wellington.

The Vegetarian Wellington was so tasty. It had layers of Veleriac, Sweet Potato, Mushroom and Pepper in a golden pastry case. The veggies (especially the carrots) and potatoes were great too.

We had such a fun night!

Great friends, good food, drinks, pretend roulette, shots… dancing, more shots 🀣😬πŸ₯‚
