A London day out โœจ๏ธ

Hi guys ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

So at the beginning of June, we spent a weekend celebrating our anniversary! (See previous post) we decided to do something a bit different this year. We usually opt for a night’s stay somewhere, but instead, we planned a ‘touristy’ day out in one of our favourite cities, London.

Here’s what we got up to!

First up – The Tower of London

Next up – A boat on the Thames

Third stop – The London Eye

Next up – Some Sightseeing

Next up – Dinner

Our final stop – A Comedy Club

We had a lovely time! It was quite fun doing lots of touristy things that we hadn’t done before! These are some of the things I’ve wanted to do for ages but never got around to seeing.

These days out in London are great if you can grab a ‘London Day Out’ train ticket too! Much more affordable (only ยฃ20 each, bargain!)

What’s your favourite sight to see in London?

Birthday Fun ๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ‘ฏ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Hi guys ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

A few weeks ago it was mine and my twin sisters’ 33rd birthday – woohoo! It actually fell on a Sunday which was the day we were actually born.

Here is how we spent our birthday weekend…

Saturday

We started off the Saturday with a delicious lunch at Revs. The sun was shining big time.

Me & Sarah (along with my husband Tim) met our friend Dan there.

Me & Sarah shared some delicious picky bits. The tater tots with garlic & chilli butter were INSANE. I was really impressed with all of the food and I’d love to go back.

We also had a bit of fun taking some photos in the photobooth โœŒ๐Ÿผ

Once Tim and Dan had gone home me and Sarah went to Boom Battle Bar. We had a round of Mini Golf and did a spot of basketball on the machines. We each had a frozen cocktail each to round off the afternoon.

We picked up some smaller picky bits on our way home from town and ate those before having a nap (because, sun โ˜€๏ธ) and then went to the cinema. We watched ‘Fall Guy’ (with Tim too!) It was really good.

Sunday

Sunday was our actual birthday, so we decided to meet up for a nice brunch and do our usual present exchange together. We went to this lovely brunch spot along the waterfront – again, the sun was shining beautifully (we got very lucky with the weather!!)

Delicious!

Once we had eaten, our respective families got together at our Mum and Dad’s to open our presents from them.

Me & Sarah also got a little spontaneous birthday present for ourselves (pic below) ๐Ÿ™ƒ

In the evening we enjoyed a nice family meal together with our older Sister, Mum, Dad, Brother in laws, Nephews, and Niece.

Here’s to year 34! Let’s see what it will bring ๐ŸŽˆโญ๏ธ

May Highlights โœจ๏ธ

Hi guys ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

Here are my May highlights…

Promotion to the Premier League…

An absolutely unbelievable weekend, one we’ll never forget.

I can’t wait for the football season to start up again!

Our Birthday!

We had a fun birthday weekend celebrating together. We grabbed lunch and spent the day hanging out together on Saturday. Delicious picky bits at Revs in the sunshine, mini golf, cocktails, and the cinema.

On our birthday, on the Sunday we had a delicious brunch together, exchanged our presents, spent time with family and had a birthday meal with cake to round off the weekend.

Oh… and we may have got a matching tattoo on our birthday as well ๐Ÿ‘€

(See the blog post below for the inspiration)

Celebrating special birthdays with friends.

We enjoyed a bottomless brunch in the sunshine ๐ŸŒž followed by some fun and games at a local bar, including interactive darts & karaoke.

A lovely family holiday to Norfolk.

We stayed in a lovely air bnb cottage in Norfolk. We went along with my mother in law, brother in law, my husbands Auntie, Cousin, and Grandad. We had a lovely time chilling out, cooking together, exploring nearby towns and Norwich City, walks  (weather permitting), and we even hired a boat, which was a highlight!

& I saw some bats, which was epic.

Going to see Take That live!

I will always love seeing Take That live! No one does it better. I can’t believe that this was the 7th time I’ve seen them love!!

Another fun month! And we are almost halfway through the year!!! Madness.

A fun, bookish haul ๐Ÿ“š

Hi guys ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

I thought I would share some cool little bookish things that I recently bought.

They are just some fun, useful little bits that are perfect if you are a bookworm like me!

Let’s take a look!

A cute ‘Welcome to the library’ sign to go by the reading corner.
A reading light that sits across the page of your book.
Fun little reading lists to keep a track of the books you’ve read and your rating for each one.
A coin that says ‘One more chapter’ on one side and ‘Go to bed’ on the otherside. I’m pretty sure it’s weightless to the ‘One more chapter side’ ๐Ÿคฃ
Some cute little book inspired stickers.

These were bought on both Amazon & Temu.

March highlights โœจ๏ธ

Hi guys ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

Here are my March highlights…

We celebrated ‘World Book Day’ at work – I dressed up as Harry Potter โšก๏ธ

We celebrated my Uni friends’ baby shower this month, too!! It was lovely to celebrate and catch up.
WE FINALLY HAVE NEW FLOORING AND WERE ABLE TO MOVE BACK INTO OUR HOME !!

& finally,

We watched Mark Watson, the comedian in our hometown. I bought these tickets for my husband, for Christmas! He has seen Mark Watson a few times and really enjoys his comedy. I myself hadn’t seen him live before but he was very funny and I would definitely watch him live again. We got to meet him afterwards, too, and get a signed copy of his book.

Easter Chocolate Bark ๐Ÿซ๐ŸŒท๐Ÿฃ

Hi guys!

I’ve always enjoyed doing a few ‘baking’ recipes on here, every now and then, particularly at Easter time.

All that delicious Easter chocolate in the shops or that you may receive can be put to good use by yourself or your small people – it’s super easy and great fun too!

So what is Easter Bark you say?

Well it’s shards of decorated chocolate.

And here’s how it’s done (by us anyway)

Ingredients

  • X2 large bars of Milk Chocolate
  • X2 large bars of white chocolate
  • Sprinkles
  • A selection of your favourite Easter chocolates to adorn

Recipe

Prep a baking tray with a lining of baking parchment, make sure it covers the sides of your baking tray a little too, not just the bottom.

Melt your different chocolates (we went for milk and white for the kids – dark would also be delicious) in separate bowls over water (or in the microwave)

When the chocolate that you wish to have as your base is ready (ours was milk), pour that into the baking sheet and spread out so it covers the bottom in an even layer. Don’t spread it too thin.

Drizzle over the other chocolate/s that you’ve melted (our white chocolate) either yourself or the children need a cocktail skewer to swirl the chocolate carefully to create the marbled effect.

Adorn with your sprinkles and chosen Easter Chocolate, trying to evenly distribute it throughout.

Pop into the fridge (or freezer if you are impatient like us!! ๐Ÿ˜‚)

Once it is fully solidified, break it up into shards and ENJOY!

Super easy, fun & delicious! Perfect for occupying the kids this Easter hols – my nephews and niece loved it (especially the eating part!)

Happy Easter Weekend

My recent book purchases ๐Ÿ“š

Hi guys ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

If like me, you can’t walk past a bookshop (or supermarket) without buying new books, or if you need some inspiration for what to read next, then this post is for you!

Here are some of the books that I’ve bought recently, from a variety of places!

Let’s take a look!

โœจ๏ธ

Title: ‘No one saw a thing’

Author: Andrea Mars

Genre: Crime Thriller

Why I chose it: I love thrillers and the blurb sounded very intriguing.

Title: ‘None of this is true’

Author: Lisa Jewell

Genre: Psychological Thriller

Why I chose it: I am a big fan of Lisa Jewells thrillers!!

Title: ‘The Sisters’

Author: Claire Douglas

Genre: Thriller

Why I chose it: I live a thriller, and it mentioned twins (which I am), so my interest was piqued.

Title: Tale of Magic series

Author: Chris Colfer

Genre: Fantasy

Why I chose it: Chris Colfer writes truly magical fiction. His previous series,’The Land Of Stories’ was fantastic, so I had to get this one too.

Title: ‘The Wake Up Call’

Author: Beth O’Leary

Genre: Romance/Rom Com Fiction

Why I chose it: I am a fan of her other books and have read them all, plus they are very easy to read.

Title: ‘The Air Raid Book Club’

Author: Annie Lyons

Genre: Historical fiction

Why I chose it: Because it had ‘Book Club’ in the title and the blurb gave me ‘Goodnight Mr Tom’ vibes.

Do these appeal to you?

Have you read any of these?

February Highlights โœจ๏ธ

Hi guys ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

Well, that month flew by, didn’t it!

Here are my February highlights…

We started back doing our Parkruns this month! Happy with my time of 34.01 – here’s to getting back to it again ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

Me and my twin sister Sarah organised our bestfriends baby shower. It went really well and everyone had a great time! Lots of delicious food, fun games, presents and laughs ๐Ÿ‘ถ

Pancake day! One of the best days in Feb ๐Ÿฅž I managed to have two pancake meals, haha.

We celebrated Valentines Day this year with our traditional meal to a local Turkish restaurant. It was delicious as always.

As you may have see from my previous holiblog post, we went to Northern Italy for the Feb half term. It was brilliant. We did Verona, Lake Garda, Milan & Venice (again!)

We had a brilliant time, there was so much to see and it was beautiful. We were also mostly, pretty lucky with the weather.

Another great Italy adventure
