May Highlights ✨️

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸ»

Here are my May highlights…

Promotion to the Premier League…

An absolutely unbelievable weekend, one we’ll never forget.

I can’t wait for the football season to start up again!

Our Birthday!

We had a fun birthday weekend celebrating together. We grabbed lunch and spent the day hanging out together on Saturday. Delicious picky bits at Revs in the sunshine, mini golf, cocktails, and the cinema.

On our birthday, on the Sunday we had a delicious brunch together, exchanged our presents, spent time with family and had a birthday meal with cake to round off the weekend.

Oh… and we may have got a matching tattoo on our birthday as well πŸ‘€

(See the blog post below for the inspiration)

Celebrating special birthdays with friends.

We enjoyed a bottomless brunch in the sunshine 🌞 followed by some fun and games at a local bar, including interactive darts & karaoke.

A lovely family holiday to Norfolk.

We stayed in a lovely air bnb cottage in Norfolk. We went along with my mother in law, brother in law, my husbands Auntie, Cousin, and Grandad. We had a lovely time chilling out, cooking together, exploring nearby towns and Norwich City, walks  (weather permitting), and we even hired a boat, which was a highlight!

& I saw some bats, which was epic.

Going to see Take That live!

I will always love seeing Take That live! No one does it better. I can’t believe that this was the 7th time I’ve seen them love!!

Another fun month! And we are almost halfway through the year!!! Madness.

Blogmas 2023 Day Twenty: Our Christmas Tree πŸŽ„

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸ»

If you saw yesterday’s post it was all about my Harry Potter Christmas Tree! (Epic, I know)

So I thought it only right to also show you our main Christmas tree!

Here it is…

The colour scheme for our tree is very traditional, red, gold and green.

We have a basic, original set of baubles that my Mum got us when we moved in together (inc a star)…

And then we have a box of all of our specific baubles that we have collected, been gifted or made over the last 10 years (where did those 10 years go!!!)

I do love our little tree, and it looks lovely with the warm lights, red and gold tinsel and red star on top.

I do think that perhaps we will need to invest in a taller tree next year as it was getting hard to find free branches for all of our lovely baubles. We have added a few each year from various shops, creations from Nephews and Niece, picked up on holidays, and a new one from Mum each year.

What themed do you have for your tree?

Blogmas 2023 Day Six: Decorating our home πŸ‘

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸ»

The decorating was in a few stages this year (mainly because I didn’t bring everything back from storage)

This was stage one of the decorating, which was mainly decorating the living room with lots of lights and positioning the trees (ready to decorate later!)

Here are the general decorations…

It’s starting to feel very festive πŸ˜ƒ

What decorations are your favourites?

Mine are fairy lights.

Blogmas Day Twenty Two: More Christmas decorating…❄️

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

So, I obviously did a post at the beginning of Blogmas showcasing some of our decorations, our tree and some of our tree decorations…well…

… I may have bought some more when I went into town this week!

I thought I would share them with you as they are a different theme to our other more traditional decorations.

In our hallway/entrance room we usually have a sort of winter vibe, but this year I could only find a few bits amongst our decs ( I have no idea what’s happened to the other stuff) so I thought I would add some more stuff to make it a bit better.

One of the things I took inspo from is the escape room we did a few weeks ago… random I know, but they had baubles on the ceiling… and they looked so cool, so I took the idea and fitted it into the winter theme…

I went into Wilko this week and they had a big pack of giant baubles in whites, silvers and light blue… perfect for a winter theme… and half price!

I added white lights which go along the wall. We have had these up before but they go really well with the theme in this room as all the other lights we have are warm lights.

And of course tinsel! Light blue, silver and white.

Also from Wilko I got some hanging snowflake garlands…. these are white and silver and look very nice hanging in the doorway to the lounge.

I also grabbed a little fake Mistletoe hanging decoration as it looked cute πŸ˜— and went well with everything else (white berries & glitter!!)

And my little winter friends to top it all off. They always go perfectly in here, but even more so this year.

❄️ What do you think? ❄️

What is your favourite colour scheme for Christmas?

Only 3 days to go!!! Ahhh so close now.

Blogmas Day Eleven: A Harry Potter Christmas Tree βš‘οΈπŸŽ„

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

So every year we have two Christmas trees (because why have one when you can have two!!)

I have already posted about our regular, lounge Christmas tree but, we also have a very special Christmas tree in our bedroom…

**Drum roll***

It’s a Harry Potter themed tree!

(What a suprise 🀣)

Originally I used bits of memorabilia to decorate my tree with a Sorting Hat topper, but as more and more Harry Potter stuff has become available (thanks Warner Bros and Primark!!) I have built up quite an extensive collection of baubles.

Most of them are from Primark sets but a couple are from the Studio Tour in Watford, as are the ribbons.

Without further ado, lets take a look at the different stages I went through to create my awesome Harry Potter themed tree.

First up…

Lights

They have had a little upgrade this year… but what could be more magical than star shaped fairy lights in the four house colours (nothing, exactly!)

After that…

Tinsel

I go for red and gold as although all Hogwarts Houses are represented on the tree anything like tinsel or bows are very much in a Gryffindor colour scheme.

Next…

Baubles

As I said, alot of the sets come with a bauble for each house, so all are represented… but more heavily represented are mine (Gryffindor) and my husbands (Hufflepuff) favourite houses.

I bought two new sets of baubles this year (from Primark)… the top one is from a set of four and each bauble is clear with cute, thin tinsel inside to correspond with its Hogwarts House… the tinsel also has lots of tiny little stars in it. The house emblem and name is also written on the front in the same colour font.

These are my favourites so far. They are so pretty.

I also picked up another set with four baubles. Each one says something from the series, eg: ‘Platform 9 3/4, Lumos, Forbidden Forest & Golden Snitch’

Then..

Ribbons

Gryffindor themed of course!

And Finally…

The topper

I bought this in the sale last Christmas time. I think I got it just after Christmas so it was a bargain.

This is the first year I will have used it. It looks great.

Here is the final tree! – Looking super magical if I do say so myself πŸ˜‰

How is your decorating going?

Blogmas Day Four: Christmas Decorations πŸŽ„

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

The decorations are up! A little later than I would have liked but they are up now.

I especially love getting out our tree decorations, it’s so cool to see them again and all of the ones you’ve picked and the memories from over the years.

I thought I would share with you some of our special/significant decorations that go on our tree.

This is our souvenir decoration from our 2018 Holiday of a lifetime to Orlando, Florida. DisneyWorld was incredible.

From the same holiday, this is our Universal Studios souvenir decoration.

These decorations have been handmade by my Nephews and Niece so these are really special.

This one is a little homage to my childhood, of NEVER being able to find my name on any decoration/magnet/keyring – it was always ‘Rosie’ never ‘Roseanne’.

This pretty ‘Mr & Mrs’ decoration was given to us as a wedding gift, the year that we gor married (2016) so this is a nice momento of that significant year. Plus, the box was cute and had ‘Bestfriends for life, husband and wife’ written on it.

I bought this cute, personalised decoration at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, London, in 2019. I got this as a suprise gift for my husband. It also reminds me of the day out. Me and my Uni friends were celebrating having met 10 years previously.

It was a strange time but also pretty standout in terms of years of our life, so I got these personalised ‘COVID’ decos because you’ve gotta make the best of a bad thing.

Bookcase tour πŸ“šπŸ‘‰πŸ»

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸ»

So, I started the new year by giving my bookcase a little reshuffle.

Here are the different shelf arrangements…

1. The Harry Potter Shelf

This is obviously a must πŸ€ͺ

It’s a mixture of my copies of the book series as well as other illustrated versions and books about the wizarding world and films.

2. The tbr Shelf

My ‘to be read’ (tbr) shelf is all of the books that are on my list to read. It’s rather extensive at the moment – who else has a problem with being unable to stop buying books?! πŸ€ͺ

It’s got quite a nice mix of different genres to choose from, from easy readers, Thrillers, Autobiographies, Novels, Romances, Fantasy etc.

3. Recommendations Shelf

This shelf is my go to when anyone asks for a recommendation. I get asked for recommendations quite a bit so they are handy to grab.

4. My Favourites Shelf

These books are some of my alltime faves. Most I have read more than once.

Some of my favourites include ‘Bridget Jones’ – ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ – ‘Animal Farm’ – ‘The Land of Stories Series’ and ‘Goodnight Mr Tom.

This one kinda spills onto two shelves – special mention to Heidi Swain whos books almost have a whole shelf to themselves now haha.

5. My Childrens Book Shelf

Working with Children as well as being an Auntie means that I can appreciate a good picture book. I have some classics as well as just random ones I have picked up on the way. These are a mixture of Fiction and Non Fiction.

I love colour co-ordinating my shelves too, I have done this with my ‘tbr list’ as there is quite an array of different books and covers.

This always looks pretty cool.

How do you organise your bookcase?
