Blogmas Day Seventeen: The ultimate hot chocolate πŸ«

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

At Christmas time one of my favourite drinks to have is hot chocolate. Me ans my twin sister were visiting London this weekend so we thought we would try out the ultimate hot chocolate that London has to offer.

The cafe is called ‘Italian Bear Chocolate’ and they are a chocolate lovers heaven.

You cam choose your flavour of hot chocolate from milk, white or dark. We both went for milk chocolate. We also both went for a small (which was more than enough!!) As we wanted to try the chocolate cake.

We added ‘triple chocolate’ to both our hot chocolate and the cake, which is the drizzle you can see cascading down the side of the mug and the cake.

It was so rich, thick and decadent. It starts off like normal hot chocolate but definitely gets thicker as you get to the end. The triple chocolate drizzle is amazing too. You can taste to good quality of each type of chocolate.

This is the cake that we got to share. This was decadence with a capital D. We had to take at least half home with us. The chocolate ganache and fudgey filling were amazing.

It was so good.

Blogmas Day Fifteen: A christmas booklover diy gift πŸ“š

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

So this week we are having our last Book Club meeting before Christmas and the New Year, and I saw a really cute idea online that I thought was perfect to make everyone.

They are book baubles!

So I bought some clear baubles on Amazon, I then set about printing, cutting (lots of cutting) and laminating the tiny pictures of all of the books that we have read at Book Club this year.

I did them double sided so that they looked good inside the bauble from all angles. This did take a little while but I made them in an evening so it isn’t as time consuming as it looks.

These would make a great present for a book lover friend. If you know what they have read this year or maybe just make one with their favourite books in.

They are relatively easy and super effective.

I finished them off by writing ‘2022’ in a silver pen and adding a red ribbon to hang them up.

I know not everyone has a laminater but they looked really effective this way and I was really pleased with the finish.

I can’t wait to pop mine on my tree – what a great year for book club books it has been.

What have you read this year?

Blogmas Day Fourteen: A Christmas Escape Room πŸ”πŸ¦Œ

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

So at the weekend me, my husband, my twin sister, bestfriend and her husband did a little Christmas get together. We thought that this would be a nice idea instead of a gift, as it can often be hard to find time to all meet up together.

We started off by meeting for dinner at our local Wagamamas, which was delicious.

Me and my husband Tim both had the same.

We then moved on to our local Cosy Club for a drink and dessert.

After a good catch up it was finally time for our Escape Room slot.

The Escape room we chose to do was at a new franchise that has recently opened up, and to make things even better they did a Christmas themed one.

We knew we had to give that one a go. It’s called ‘Runaway Rudolph’ our mission: Find Rudolph and save Christmas!!

Team Cinnamon & Misery – Assemble!

The room was brilliant and super festive, as was our host.

We really enjoyed ourselves and I particularly liked that if you needed a hint you had to do a funny Elf task like sing ‘Jingle Bells’ which was hilarious.

We had a great time and we ESCAPED!!!

Our time was 50.02 – you get one hour to complete it so we had plenty of time left.

Escape rooms are really fun and I especially enjoyed this festive edition.

Have you done an Escape Room before?

Blogmas Day Thirteen: Festive Food πŸ΄πŸŽ…πŸ»

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

Food is one of my favourite things – I love trying new things.

Some of the best food is ‘festive food’ that surrounds the season… so let’s take a look at a few of my favourites in general (and so far, this year!)

Festive hot chocolate

My favourite way to make a hot chocolate is in my Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser. I use the Mint Hot Chocolate Sachets, topping it off with chocolate whipped cream (that I found in Asda) and Christmas sprinkles.

Mince Pies

Mince pies are one of my all time favourite festive treats. I am taste testing lots of different ones (for the good of the people of course) Sainburys have come out on top so far but I am yet to have one of my favourite COOP locally sourced ones so the jury is still out.

Crisps

You can get lots of delicious flavoured crisps at this time of year and these sounded insane – I cannot wait to try these.

Cheese

Cheese is always a winner in my eyes, but a cheeseboard or cheese and crackers just hits different at Christmas. I am also very partial to a camembert.

Party food

I always get very excited to see what ‘party’ goodies are available each year. I love all the mini versions of something of your favourite foods. We are very partial to the cheese options that are usually available – (popcorn Halloumi in the photo above) Mozzerella sticks etc. I also love the crispy/tempura prawn options.

Roasts

I try not to have too many roasts close to Christmas so that I am ready to fully enjoy the main event, but throughout late November and early December, when the supermarkets start stocking all the pigs in blankets and stuffing etc, I really start to fancy a roast. I picked up some bits so that we can have one later roast.

Christmas Dinner is a my absolute all time favourite meal so I am buzzing for it.

What is your favourite festive food item?

Blogmas Day Twelve: Stocking Fillers βœ¨οΈ

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

Stockings are one of my favourite parts of Christmas and it has been since I was a child.

I also think they are one of the most fun things to shop for too *to help Santa out obviously!

Let’s take a look at some Stocking filler ideas.

Instead of including specific information I have just included different options, in different categories, that you can pick up from wherever you like to shop.

[& don’t forget to shop local and support small buisnesses]

Games

Edible Treats

Books

Handmade Gifts

Bath Bombs

What is your go to stocking filler?

Blogmas Day Eleven: A Harry Potter Christmas Tree βš‘οΈπŸŽ„

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

So every year we have two Christmas trees (because why have one when you can have two!!)

I have already posted about our regular, lounge Christmas tree but, we also have a very special Christmas tree in our bedroom…

**Drum roll***

It’s a Harry Potter themed tree!

(What a suprise 🀣)

Originally I used bits of memorabilia to decorate my tree with a Sorting Hat topper, but as more and more Harry Potter stuff has become available (thanks Warner Bros and Primark!!) I have built up quite an extensive collection of baubles.

Most of them are from Primark sets but a couple are from the Studio Tour in Watford, as are the ribbons.

Without further ado, lets take a look at the different stages I went through to create my awesome Harry Potter themed tree.

First up…

Lights

They have had a little upgrade this year… but what could be more magical than star shaped fairy lights in the four house colours (nothing, exactly!)

After that…

Tinsel

I go for red and gold as although all Hogwarts Houses are represented on the tree anything like tinsel or bows are very much in a Gryffindor colour scheme.

Next…

Baubles

As I said, alot of the sets come with a bauble for each house, so all are represented… but more heavily represented are mine (Gryffindor) and my husbands (Hufflepuff) favourite houses.

I bought two new sets of baubles this year (from Primark)… the top one is from a set of four and each bauble is clear with cute, thin tinsel inside to correspond with its Hogwarts House… the tinsel also has lots of tiny little stars in it. The house emblem and name is also written on the front in the same colour font.

These are my favourites so far. They are so pretty.

I also picked up another set with four baubles. Each one says something from the series, eg: ‘Platform 9 3/4, Lumos, Forbidden Forest & Golden Snitch’

Then..

Ribbons

Gryffindor themed of course!

And Finally…

The topper

I bought this in the sale last Christmas time. I think I got it just after Christmas so it was a bargain.

This is the first year I will have used it. It looks great.

Here is the final tree! – Looking super magical if I do say so myself πŸ˜‰

How is your decorating going?

Blogmas Day Ten: Festive Cinema trip no 2 πŸŽ„πŸŽ₯

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

So just by chance I checked the cinema times as we had our nephews for a few hours today… and to my delight they were showing ELF!

As you may have seen on one of my previous Blogmas posts this year, ELF is one of my favourite Christmas films of all time.

It’s great and super festive.

We bought some festive treats in town, grab some kiddie hot chocolates from Starbucks and headed in to enjoy the film.

What is your favourite Christmas film?

Blogmas Day Nine: The Rock N Roll Panto πŸŽ„βœ¨οΈ

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

So one of me and my husbands favourite traditions is to go to our local Panto every Christmas.

It is their rock n roll Panto and every year is a different traditional story that the Panto is based around.

This year the story was based around Goldilocks and the three bears. It had a fun circus element to it.

We grabbed some festive treats and sat down to enjoy it.

It was even more special this year because it is the first time we have been to the Panto in person, since COVID. For 2020 & 2021 we watched it on a live stream.

We had a great time and it was as brilliant as always, one of the best ones in fact. It was great to see some of the familiar faces of the cast too.

What Christmas traditions do you have?

Do you go and watch a Christmas show?

Blogmas Day Eight: Festive Nails πŸ’…πŸΌ βœ¨οΈ

Hi guys πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

So most years I enjoy getting my nails done ready for the festivities of Christmas day etc, and this year is no exception.

Now I usually go out to get them done, in town but since Febuary last year my friend has been doing them for me.

This is super exciting as I have always wanted to get proper festive nails, I have only ever got full glitter nails… but this time, THERE IS NAIL ART!!!!

Super cute!!

We went for red glitter on the thumbs, gold glitter on the little nails, and then for the nails art there is a Santa Hat, a Reindeer and some cute Bauble style dots.

I would pick my favourite nail design but I can’t because they all just look amazing.

I love them ❀️

Do you get your Christmas nails done?

What are you going for this year?
